The bridesmaids, dressed in pastel blue, waited for the nervous fiancée, or, should they say, the future bride. Eliza was beginning to second-guess her decision and wondered if she should go forward. The eldest sister, Angelica, placed her hand on her sister's shoulder, reassuring her that everything would be fine. They walked into the room where her bridesmaids were waiting.

"I can't believe it! My little sister is getting married in only a day," Angelica exclaimed, tears of joy almost escaping her eyes. This was her introduction, grabbing the attention of the other girls that stood in the room.

The youngest, Peggy, fought with her elegant, large dress before coming in and seeing her beautiful sister in the off-white gown she was trying on for tomorrow. "Eliza, you look like a princess. Never mind--you're more like a queen!" Peggy marveled. The dress her sister wore was an off-the-shoulder train of tulle lace and resembled a swan's feathers at the bottom. She wore her hair in a half-up, half-down style.

Eliza was about ready to take off her dress before her third and final bridesmaid, Theodosia, got the chance to be in awe of her beauty.

"Are you excited or more nervous?" she asked, moving one of her box braids out of her face.

Eliza, clearly more on the fence about this, anxiously paced around the room. "What if everything goes wrong? Or what if he changes his mind? What--WHAT IF--" she rambles, pausing to take a deep breath.

"I think we know the answer to that question," Theodosia replied.

Meanwhile, the feelings were mutual.

Alexander, also pacing in circles around the room, finally broke the silence. "I wonder what Eliza's doing. Do you think she hates me? What do I do?" He yells in frustration, running his fingers through his hair. His friends and groomsmen all stared at him, concern on their faces.

"You're overthinking this," his best friend Laurens suggested. "You just need to calm down."

"Ouais, if you're that nervous, just go see her, simple," his other friend Lafayette noted matter-of-factly in his thick French accent.

"I'm pretty sure you not supposed to see the bride before the wedding," Hercules interjected. Laf glared at him and his superstitious ways.

As they argued over what Alex should do, he focused on something else. Abruptly, he stood up, exited the room, grabbed his coat, and left, not really knowing what he's doing. The cold air of New York blew, shaking all the nearby trees. Colorful leaves rustled and danced in the wind. It was much like the day that he met Eliza.

He held his usual black coffee in his hand. As an aspiring journalist who currently attended Columbia University, formerly known as King's College, he was always on the lookout for new article ideas. He continued walking inattentively, and suddenly, he lost his balance with a powerful slam! "Are you okay?" He looked down, laying eyes on the most beautiful girl he's ever seen, almost breathtaking, even. She had her brown hair in a high ponytail and wore a blue sweater.

"Yeah, you should really pay attention," she said while getting up.

"Oh, I--" he replied, beginning to apologize. She cut in with a laugh.

"I'm just kidding, I'm Eliza."

And as if the memory came to life, he bumped into someone again. "Shoot! Wait, Eliza?" He quickly caught Eliza, who lost her balance.

"I guess you never learned to look where you're going," she teased. And so, it was there that they didn't need to discuss their problems, because the only solution was each other. Then all the second-guessing dissipated, because they had exactly that: each other.

They let that be enough.
