This story is long as fuck, like 2300 words, wow go me. Next part will be the aftermath of this experience!
Loki was popping by the tower more often, Tony didn't like that. Whenever he was here, I always found a way to cause trouble. That was the case this time around.
"Y/N?"
"Yes greasy?"
"Have you ever, travelled?"
"I've been all over New York but never left the state, why do you ask?"
"What if, we went on a road trip!"
"Okay, who else can we bring?"
He turned his head in the direction to the most comedic duo to ever take residence in this tower, Bucky and Sam. Currently, they were competing in a contest of who can get more grapes in their mouth at one time.
"Yeah they will do"
I packed a small bag and grabbed some snacks. I wasn't planning on telling Tony. I see how bad of an idea that was but he didn't need to know, did he?
"Y/N are you ready?"
"Coming Barnes!"
"Where you going?"
I froze to the sound of Tonys snitch, Vision. He couldn't know, he was going to find out maybe, probably, but I needed a was to throw him off my trail.
"Hey Vis, how's Wanda?"
"Very good, where are you-"
"You should take her to the movies tonight, I think she would enjoy that"
"Yes alright, but where-"
"Look at the time, best be going!"
"But where-"
I sprinted down the hall away from the robot who was devoted to know my where about's in the coming hours. Running outside to see Bucky's pick-up trunk ready to go, I jumped into the cargo bed, placing my belongings in it.
"Drive! The snitch is coming!"
Bucky stepped on it and headed straight out of the compound, racing onto a random high way. While the car was moving, I managed to climb into the back seat to sit beside Loki.
"Hey fellas, where we off to?"
"I don't know, an hour ago I definitely didn't expect to be doing this!" Sam laughed.
"Okay.. what don't we just pick a state and go there?"
"Deal, first pick is Y/N cause of this insane idea, it seems fitting."
"Do we want a big, long drive?"
"Definitely, why where are you thinking?"
"Chicago.."
We decided to take the 12 hour drive to Chicago, only stopping for gas, snacks and to change driver. Eventually it came time for me to drive, but there was one problem.
"Uh.. I don't know how to drive.."
"Your Starks kid, but you can't drive?" Sam laughed.
"Apparently I'm a hazard to the road.."
So on hour 7 of driving, the three men decided to try and teach me how to drive. We pulled up to an empty parking lot and they explained it to me.
"See! Y/N's a natural at this!"
"Yeah is she good enough to get us where we need to go?" Loki asked.
"She can drive for like an hour or so, then we will switch again.."
So they put me straight on the open road. I was lucky that it was so late and there were no cars around, but unlucky that it was so late and I wasn't at home.
"Guys, Tony is calling me!"
"Shit okay, everyone be quiet!"
Sam held the phone on speaker beside me so I could continue driving. I took a deep breath and answered the phone.
"Hey Tony, how are you?"
"Where the hell are you!"
"I am sleeping over at a friends, if thats okay?"
"Oh okay, thats alright. When will you be home?"
"Yeah thats the thing, it might be a few days.."
"Are you in a car?!"
"No.."
"Y/N Stark, where the hell are you?!"
"Um.. see you later?"
"Do not hang up on-"
I grabbed the phone, ending the call immediately. The boys were laughing and I was not that impressed.
"So, let's hurry on to Chicago?"
"Yes, lets!"
After Sam took over for me, the drive went a lot quicker and soon enough, we were in the great city of Chicago. We grabbed some food and walked around for a while before finding a bar which was open to sit down in.
"Hey, she's underaged, get her out of here!"
"She's with us, plus she has a thing for soda.. its weird.." Loki said in protest.
"No alcohol near her!"
"Okay!"
They grabbed there drinks and we headed to a less populated point of the bar. I pulled out a map of where we should go next and how long our Chicago visit would be.
"So if we spend tomorrow here, then drive through Iowa, Nebraska, Colorado, Utah to reach Los Vegas?" Bucky asked.
"Its gonna take us a few days, but I think it's a good plan" Loki laughed.
"Okay so from Vegas we go to LA, then along the boarder through Arizona and New Mexico to reach Texas. Wait Loki why Texas?"
"I want to annoy the republicans.."
"I have thought you well. Then Sam wants to go down to Florida?" I asked.
"Theme parks.."
"Oh yeah definitely. Then we drive along the coast, back to New York!"
"This is a solid plan" Bucky said, raising his glass.
"Were going to be gone for a long time.."
"Tonys going to be pissed, but this seems worth it.."
We found a small bit B&B which was nice and cheap to spend the night in, the room had two double beds but none of the men felt okay with sleeping in the same bed as me. So Loki was stuck in the tub and Sam took the bed with Bucky.
Morning arrived and we did everything possible in the space of a day, knowing we would be on the road tonight. We bought funny accessories, small gifts for the team and taking photos. I kept declining Tonys calls, knowing I was in for it once I arrived back home.
One of the best days ever was shortly over and we headed out on our quest to Vegas. First we landed in Iowa, getting lunch and looking around a bit to stretch our legs. Next we headed to Colorado, stopping briefly then moving on to Utah. We stayed in another cheap air B&B before driving the home stretch to Vegas.
"Wow!"
"Wait, the kid has never been here before?" Sam laughed.
"Before a few days ago, I hadn't ever left New York! Come on lets go!"
I grabbed Bucky's hand, him being the nearest to me, as we ran under the lit up city.
"They shot a scene of FRIENDS here!"
"Do you want a beer Y/N?"
"She like 4 Bucky!?"
"I don't know what to do with it!"
"Do you think if we play the Avengers card, we can meet Brittany Spears?" I asked with full seriousness.
"Thats an abuse of power" Sam said.
"Wait who's the spear lady?"
"Come on, let Y/N meet her" Loki bargained.
"Hey Y/N, rollercoaster!"
"Come on Bucky, lets go"
We ran off to get on the ride which went through an entire hotel, leaving Sam and Loki alone.
"The trick with Y/N is to distract her, if you can do that then she forgets all her other ideas.."
"Wow, I never knew it was that easy.."
We stayed outside all day long, looking around the amazing city. Then Sam wanted to do a bit of gambling and brought me to my first casino. He and Loki played, earning us some road trip cash, while Bucky was trying to teach me how to play. Eventually giving up, we went to the arcade to win a plushie, our group mascot.
"Loki is insane at gambling, look at this!"
"I won us $6,000.."
"Wait what?!"
"So, who wants a nice steak dinner?"
"Bet let's go!"
On a count of Lokis big win, we ate fancy and slept fancy that night. While I ate breakfast with Sam, Bucky and our new mascot Jerry, the cow plushie, I receive a call from Tony which I knew I had to answer. Loki was off winning us some more money for our trip so he wouldn't have to listen to the yelling of Tony.
"Hey, how's it going?"
"Are you serious? Y/N where are you, I'm really worried?!"
I looked up to the boys, receiving nods of approval to give our location. I mean even if he came to get us, we would be leaving for LA within the hour.
"Okay but you can't be mad.."
"Okay.."
"First we were in Chicago, we drove through a few states and are now in Las Vegas.."
"WHAT?!
"You said you wouldn't-"
"Who is we.."
"Sam, Bucky and Loki-"
"I'm coming to get you, I'll land in 3 hours!"
He hung up the phone while I looked at the boys who knew, we were on the run from Tony Stark. I grabbed my bags, checked out, got Loki who had an impressive amount of cash and headed straight to the truck.
"To LA!"
It would take us at least 5 hours to get down to the beach we wanted to visit so we made the most of the ride down. Loki only wanted one stop for ice cream to really lighten the mood. I learned a lot about these boys from being stuck in a car with them. We al had similar music taste, liked the same food and never wanted this to end. After a while, I received call number two from Tony.
"I've landed, where are you?"
"Jokes on you, we just left Vegas! Have fun finding us all the way in Texas"
"Y/N?! You just told him our location, idiot!" Sam said, trying not to laugh.
"Im coming now!"
At least now we could enjoy sunny LA in peace. It was an amazing city, we were having so much fun. We had ended up on a huge beach, with a make-shift picnic in the sand. Every day of this trip was a dream and we had the memories to prove it.
"Wait Loki, you have never had a pretzel?!"
"No.."
"Hang on!"
I grabbed four fresh pretzels and we sat watching the sunset over that warm LA beach. After the sun finally disappear, we cleaned off before heading to another hotel.
Just like that, morning cam and we were on the road to Texas, were we decided to completely mess with Tony.
"What if we dress as native Texans, tell Tony we're still here and watch him run around searching for us"
"That would be cruel.. I love it!" Loki said.
We pulled up in a store, the boys wearing cargo shorts, caps and graphic t-shirts. I mean the even committed with moustaches. I had my low rise jeans, tank top, baggy jewellery and a wig.
"You look 20 years older!"
"You have a moustache!"
We drove around, letting Loki yell at his republicans and searching for Tony. Thats when we saw the Quintet. I called Tony, ready to mess with him.
"Hey Tony!"
"I've been in Texas for over 15 hours..."
"I can see you!"
"Where?!"
"On your left!"
Tony made a sharp left turn, making me snigger.
"Your not here, are you?!"
"Oh but I am. I mean I never expected you to wear green, I didn't think it was your colour?"
"Oh Y/N, I'm gonna kill you, where are you?!"
"Who knows.."
I hung up the phone, bursting out laughing. Sam had pulled into a drive through and we sat in the car, having out lunch.
"So what more can we do in Texas?"
"I don't know, we look good though.."
"Oh yes we do"
"Do we just, go to Florida?"
"I guess thats all we can do now, head on over to DisneyWorld.."
So, we sent out for one of the main events, Walt Disney World. Loki, Bucky and I had never been, Sam however, was a regular. He loved the rides, the characters, the show, basically all of it. He was able to us a nice room with the money Loki had won and we set out on a day of rides.
"So why didn't we do this sooner?!"
"I don't know!"
I mean I even got the boys in Micky Mouse ears. We planned to stay here for three days, it was all we could afford since Tony decided to cut me off, thinking I would come home because of it. I mean the three days we spent were probably the funniest of the whole trip because Loki had no idea who any of the characters were so when we met them, it was beyond hilarious.
"And you can speak to animals.." He said, in full seriousness.
"Yes I am friends with all the birds and woodland creatures"
"So you lost a shoe, he put it on your foot and then you got married?"
"Yes indeed"
"Thats very wrong!"
"Okay Loki, let's just move on. Sorry Cinderella!"
The poor workers were probably traumatised by Loki and after we finished out our stay at the park. On the journey back, I forced Loki to watch Disney movies so he would actually understand what Disney was about.
After making our way through Philadelphia, we were beginning to feel all sorts of nerves as to what will happen once we reached New York. Softly after, we pulled up to the front of the tower and unloaded our things.
"We are in for it now.."
"I know we are.."
I used my key and walked into the lounge to see the team with there jaws on the floor.
"Hey-"
"You all went missing for over 2 weeks!"
Steve was pissed, like beyond pissed at our behaviour.
"We got you gifts.."
"Y/N, there is no saving this one" Sam whispered.
I heard the door open and knew, it was my father arriving home.
"Oh my god your okay!"
He dropped his belongings, running over to hug me and then beginning to scold me.
"I haven't heard from you for 4 whole days and you just show up?!"
"We did everything we wanted to do!"
"Room. Now!"
