Dade's soft snores filled Alices' ears.
Her legs were tangled with Alices, her arms were wrapped around the girl's waist, and her head was snuggled into Alice's chest.
Alice had her eyes closed, she inhaled Dade's sweet scent. A small smile planted on her face.
Her fingers brushed through Dade's red hair, her fingertips rubbed circles on the girl's skin, which made Dade shiver.
It was completely blissful.
Alice heard the front door open and frowned.
it was too early for Bella to be home, and Charlie was working.
Alice listened to the footsteps walk up the stairs and stop at the door.
Alice closed her eyes and pretended to be asleep.
The door creaked open. "Dade, do you know who's a car that is- uh oh.." Charlie looked down at the two girls sleeping. Alice almost giggled at his confusion but held it in.
Charlie stepped out of the room and shut the door.
"Is that a Cullen?" He whispered to himself while walking down the stairs.
Alice opened her eyes after a few minutes and listened, she could hear Charlie looking through the fridge after he found what he was looking for the left.
Alice stared down at Dade who was still sleeping. Whatever she ate, or had, made her extremely tired. She had been laying on Alice for almost two hours.
Not that Alice was complaining.
"Alice..."
"Yes?"
"Alice...white..." Dade mumbled.
Alice stared at the girl confused before she realized she was sleep talking.
Alice chuckled and moved a strand of hair behind Dade's ear. Dade's eyes fluttered open, and she yawned and moved her head into Alice's neck.
Her warm breathing made Alice feel something she hadn't felt in a very long time, butterflies.
Alice felt tingles all over her body.
"If only we could wake up like this every morning..." Alice whispered.
Dade opened her eyes a bit and lifted her head.
She smiled a bit when she saw Alice hadn't left.
"Well good morning," Alice said smiling.
Dade stared at her before putting her head back in the crook of Alice's neck.
Alice giggled. "Dade you need to get up."
"No"
"You need to eat. It'll help" Alice said.
"I don't want to eat" Dade whined.
Alice lifted Dade's head with her hand.
"Cmon Dade, I can't let you starve," Alice said.
"I don't want to get out of bed," Dade said.
Alice smiled. "Neither do I, but eating will help."
Dade stared at Alice with a blank expression. They stared at each other before Alice sighed.
"I'll make pancakes," Alice said.
"Really?"
"Yes."
Dade grinned. "Okay, just don't burn them"
Alice laughed. "I haven't even started heating up the pan and you're already judging my cooking. That hurts Dade"
"Awe to bad"
Alice playfully shoved Dade and got up, grabbing the blanket off of Dade as she did.
Dade glared at her and got up.
"When did you wake up?" Dade asked.
"About half an hour before you. Your dad stopped by"
"Bellas Dad." Dade corrected.
Alice stared at her confused.
"Renee adopted me a few years ago"
"Really? How come you didn't tell me that before?"
Dade shrugged. "You never asked."
"You know Dade, if we're gonna have a healthy friendship, you need to start telling me these things" Alice joked.
"Or what?"
"Or I'll leave you" Alice said.
"You wouldn't!" Dade gasped.
"Yeah i would. I would leave you for Jasper" Alice said.
Dade raised an eyebrow. "Ramen noodle hair? Oh come on Alice you can do better. Not better then me but better"
"Hey! Jaspers good."
"Better then me? I don't think so darling" Dade said lifting herself onto the counter.
Alice turned to her with a smirk.
"Well sweetie, he was here before you"
Dade glared at Alice. "What? am i suppose to time travel and move here two years early"
Alice smiled. "That would have been nice"
"Dade, can you get the ingredients"
"Yeah" Dade hopped off the counter and grabbed the ingredients.
"Okay i haven't really cooked in a while.." Alice said. Haven't really cooked in almost a hundred years.
"So please bear with me"
"You better not burn my pancakes"
"Slightly burnt pancakes are always the best," Alice said.
"True," Dade said.
"I'm gonna go take a shower, please do not burn my house down"
"Will you please stop insulting my cooking!" Alice said glaring.
Dade laughed and left the kitchen.
Alice tried her hardest not to mess up,
She hadn't cooked for years, and maybe she wanted to impress Dade.
Sure it was only pancakes, but Alice wanted her Dade to have the best of everything.
So she watched as many videos on making pancakes as she could,
And made sure everything was the perfect amount.
She chopped up strawberrys and placed them on Dades pancakes, along with syrup.
She placed everything on the table and clasped her hands together.
"There." Alice said smiling. But instead of sitting down she stared at the plates with an unsure smile.
"No no its good." Alice said still staring at it. She sighed and quickly moved everything around.
"Ugh. Its still not good enough" Alice said.
She switched everything around once again and groaned.
"Woah" Dade said standing in the door way.
Alice turned to her and smiled.
"This smells delicious." Dade said sitting down and immediately digging in.
"God damn Alice, this is really good"
Alice sat across from her smiling.
"Its nothing"
"You should become a chef. This is the best thing i have ever eaten"
"Its just pancakes"
"No Alice this is seriously-"
"Dade?"
Dade looked up. "Yeah?"
"Eat your food."
Dade rolled her eyes but started eating again.
"Are you not gonna eat?"
"Um no. I had a big breakfast" Alice lied.
Dade stared at Alice with narrowed eyes.
"You've been saying that for the last three days, Alice."
Alice shifted uncomfortably. "Yeah i have alot of big breakfasts"
"Alice. You never eat. Ever. And I'm not gonna lie, its kinda weird"
Alice gulped. "No not really I'm just never hungry."
"Alice tell me the truth."
"I am"
"I can tell when your lying."
Alice's hands tapped the table.
"Well i'm not lying."
"You are."
"I am not."
"You are."
"I am not."
"You. Are."
"I. Am. Not."
"You-"
"Dade! Just please eat your food." Alice snapped suddenly.
Dade looked taken back.
"Dade i'm sorry." Alice said going to touch Dades arm.
Dade shrugged her arm off.
"Its fine."
Alice pulled her hand away, she looked hurt, her eyes looked down.
Dade ate her food slowly, glancing up at Alice every once in while.
Dade finished and cleared her throat.
"Do you feel better?" Alice said.
"Yes. Thank you" Dade said feeling guilty.
Alice smiled. "Thats good. I should go home" Alice said standing up.
"Do you really need to go?" Dade asked standing up suddenly.
Alice fiddled with her fingers.
"Would you like to get some coffee, or go to a bookstore? I need something to read." Alice asked.
"Yeah sure," Dade said confused as to why she avoided her qaustion.
She started doing the dishes, which Alice insisted she help with, and grabbed her coat.
Dade wasn't surprised when she was greeted with pouring rain, she really liked it.
She smiled when she heard thunder in the distance.
"You like the rain?" Alice asked.
"Yeah, don't you?"
"I'm more of a cloudy, and thunder but it doesn't rain type of person." Alice said.
"Really? But rain makes it better"
Alice shrugged and started the car.
She pulled out of the driveway and started driving down the wet road.
After a little amount of time, Alice pulled into the bookstore parking lot.
"I'm sorry."
"For what?"
"Being cold to you. I was being rude, and you made this whole delicious breakfast, i was a jerk." Dade explained.
"I was the one who snapped at you, Dade. There's no need to apologize"
"But there is! I was pushing you to tell me, and you were clearly uncomfortable. I should have stopped but i didn't. Your too nice Alice. I mean that in a bad way."
Alice sighed and looked out her window.
"Dade..me and my family, we're.....we're different. And...and i wish i could tell you why." Alice said frustrated.
"Alice you can tell me." Dade said.
"Dade i can't."
"Why not?" Dade said.
Alice stared out the window and bit her lip.
"Dade...i don't think we should be friends anymore." Alice said.
Dade laughed. "Very funny."
She stared at Alices face which was completely serious.
"I'm sorry Dade." Alice said.
Dade felt like the someone had punched her right in the stomach.
She felt a connection with Alice, she liked Alice. Alice was her friend. They were close. Why would she do this?
"What? Why?" Dade asked.
"I'm bad for you. It would be best if you stayed away from me." Alice said.
"How are you bad for me?" Dade said.
"I wish i could tell you but...but i can't."
"Why do you keep saying that!" Dade said frustated.
Alice felt a pain in her chest. She didn't want to do this. She didn't want to hurt Dade. She knew she had to do this at some point, but she still let herself get attached. She had to wait some more time. She'll come back for Dade. She would. But not right now.
"Dade I'm really sorry-"
"No. Alice. If you don't want to be friends thats fine. But the least you could have done was let me know earlier." Dade said sadly.
"I liked you. You were a good friend. For the short amount of time we were friends. Atleast you let me know now that you didn't want to be friends instead of leading me on longer." Dades eyes burned slightly.
She had other friends do this, it just never hurt as much as this one.
Alice stared at Dade sadly. "Dade-"
"No. No. Its fine. Can you unlock the car?" Dade said.
"Why?" Alice asked.
"Just please unlock the car." Dade said.
"Do you want to go home? I can drive you home."
"I don't really want to be around you."
Lie.
Alice felt even more sad, and hurt.
She mentally scowled at herself.
You don't deaserve a right to feel hurt, Alice Cullen. You are a horrible person. You don't deaserve anything Alice. Alice thought angrily.
How come it was so easy for Edward to ignore Bella? Sure he did want to kill her, but didn't he want to spend every moment of his immortatily with her? Like Alice wanted to do with Dade? He told her it would be easy. It would be better for their family. He lied. He lied.
"Can you Please unlock the doors." Dade said.
Alice snapped out of her thoughts and nodded sadly.
"Okay." She said softly.
Dade didn't look back as she walked in the rain shivering.
Once she was sure she was out of Alices sight, she bolted into the woods. Tears streamed down her face, she sniffed and hiccupped.
She wanted to scream. She wanted to run until her legs gave out. She wanted to hug Alice.
She ran until she reached the edge of a cliff and sat down, shivering.
Whew gawd dayum that took a turn.😀
