A week away
That scene continued to plague Jennette's mind, she was contemplating on either, talking to Athanasia or rattling her out to their Father.
A lot has been bothering her, and because of it, she fell ill a week away from her debutante. Still, there were no announcements or letters asking for her opinion regarding it.
She stayed in bed, the whole day in order not to get stressed more and have the party cancelled.
"Who was that man?"
Jennette thought, still curious about the identity of the man that was with Athanasia in the middle of the night, without guards or maids.
While Jennette thinks about the situation, Claude and Athanasia were having their regular breakfast in the garden once again, after a long time, they were finally eating together.
"So... Papa, what were you so busy about?"
Athanasia asked, trying to get a bit of information about what's happening.
Claude stopped for a bit and looked at her, he can see that Athanasia was curious, "Nothing much, I was... just preparing... for something..."
Athanasia could feel that he was hiding something, and she chose not to pry more about it, and let the topic go.
She nodded and went back to eating and drinking her tea.
"Oh wait! A maid mentioned that it is almost Princess Jennette's birthday!"
She was excited to see her, it has been years since their last meeting, Athanasia didn't know what happened, but one day she just couldn't find her, even when she asked a ton of maids.
They were having a short stare contest until he gave up and answered.
"I've heard of it, I already ordered someone to prepare a party for her debutante."
Athanasia's eyes glowed and she smiled brightly, "That means, I can attend right, Papa?!"
Claude sighed and nodded, he then continued sipping his Lippe Tea.
"Can you send a seamstress to me, so I can get a dress?" She asks.
"I thought the seamstress already took care of all your dress for the next upcoming parties."
Athanasia looked confused, "She did? Really?"
Lilian has come back from the kitchen and heard of the conversation, she decided to fill in the princess, "She did, Princess. Remember the four dresses that the seamstress brought?"
'Oh!'
Athanasia made a face, indicating that she finally understood, then nodded.
"Why do you want to attend hers? Aren't you also debuting in a few weeks?"
She looked at him again, "She's a friend."
She smiled, "She was the first friend of my age that I have met once I've entered the Palace. Our first meeting was kind of awkward since she said I was her sister."
"She had long brown hair and a pair of a nice shade of green eyes..."
Her statement made Claude stopped, as well as the knight and other servants that are near.
"... Green...?"
Athanasia nodded and smiled.
"I remember both of us looking at the lake's waters and then she had a shocked expression when she saw her green eyes... I must say she was kind of surprised to see it."
That made Claude wonder about it, and why Athanasia saw green, not Jennette's jewelled eyes like how others see.
Claude made a mental note of investigating it later, as it is not his priority right now.
'It's only a week away from the debutante, I'll have it investigated after it... I guess.'
