y/n pov:
we get to to the place where we were planning on meeting up and jack stops the car
"call me if anything okay?" he says as he pecks me
"i will" i flash a smile as i unbuckle my seatbelt and get off the car shutting the door behind me
i take a look at the place where we agreed to meet, it was called "haven city market" which was a food court that pretty much had a bunch of restaurants and places where you can eat
i take a deep breath in and began to walk inside the place
every step i took my heart kept racing a bit faster, i don't know why i feel so nervous kiara and scarlett are my best friends and i've known them for so long
it's probably because i'm a bit scared of telling them everything that has happened these past few months, not to mention i've almost been sexually assaulted not even a day ago
i start looking around, seeing tables full of people. until my eyes land on two girls sitting down sipping on boba drinks, it was them
i slowly walk my way over to them and they're eyes turn to me
"y/n oh my god!" scarlett says running up to me and wrapping me in a big hug, moments later kiara does the same and the three of us are standing there in a group hug. oh how i missed this
"we missed you so much" kiara says
"we got you boba, don't worry we still remember your favorite flavor you always used to get" scarlett smiles
"aww thank you guys" i smile at them
we all sit down and catch up on life, i started to explain everything that went down ever since my parents kicked me out
after i was done they both looked at me with sad expressions on their faces
"oh my... i don't even know what to say" kiara starts
"i'm so sorry you went through all that" scarlett replies getting up and giving me a hug
"yeah, i can't believe ethan turned out to be such an asshole. and the fact that he cheated on you while pregnant and almost tried to sexually assault you! i literally want to break his face and feed him to the allegators!" kiara replies
"i never trusted him, he's always had a weird vibe" scarlett says
"i mean he was quiet when we met and so... humble i never thought he would go that far"
- flash back 2 years ago -
"look, there he is" kiara looks at me and smirks as the boy i was crushing on for a while now passed us and flashed me a smile
oh my he was just too perfect
"don't drool too soon, come on we're gonna be late to our fourth period" scarlett grabs my hand and pulls me away
- after class -
i was picking up my books and heading out from class for lunch until i felt someone grab my hand
i turn around and see him standing there
"hey ethan" i smile
"come with me?" he says
i nod and he takes me to the back of the school where the teacher parking lot is at
"why'd you bring me he-"
he cuts me off by pecking my lips
"sorry but i've been wanting to do that for a while, i like you y/n. i just couldn't tell you earlier because i'm too shy to confess my feelings infront of the whole school" he says eyeing me up and down
i go silence for a few seconds
"look i understand if you don't feel the same way back" he says slowly turning back until i grab his arm and turn him around
"wait" i smash my lips back into him
"i like you too" i say almost out of breath
he grins at me
"do you want to go out this friday?"
- end of flashback -
i sigh
"well that just proves everyone isn't what they seem to be" i reply
"men are trash anyways you don't need them" kiara says
"also, i kinda forgot to mention... the boy who offered me to live with him... well we are dating" i respond as they both stare at me with a shocked expression
"is there something wrong?" i nervously laugh
"there's sooo many things wrong with that, he is a stranger!" scarlett replies
"yeah, for how long and when did you guys start going out? oh my god you guys haven't done anything right?!" kiara says sounding concerned
"it's been a few months now and no! i'm not ready for that yet especially after ethan. i want to give myself time" i say shaking my head
"okay good, you had us scared for a second there" they both say
my phone suddenly rings as i turn it on and see a message from jack
hey love, i'm gonna go hang out with raylynn today, are you okay with that? i don't have to go since i know you two don't really get along.
i felt my heart beating fast reading her name. as much as she didn't sit right with me i didn't want to seem controlling like ellie was with him, he has the right to hang out with whoever he wants
i hesitate for a moment until i begin to type
it's fine. she's your friend and you don't have to ask me permission when you want to hang out with someone, have fun love you 🤍
i send the message and set my phone down looking down
"is everything alright?" kiara says
i look up at them
"yeah everything's fine" i respond nervously
"no, tell us now" scarlett replies
"well, um... my boyfriend he has this friend and me and her don't really get along. but she's really flirty with him and i don't trust her" i sigh
"and he's hanging out with her today" i say feeling a small lump in my throat
"that's so not okay" kiara says
"kill that bitch." scarlett adds
"oh i wish i could" i reply
"look, if he really loves you he wouldn't do anything with her and by the way you talk about him... it sounds like he really cares for you just don't overthink things because it makes the situation worst" kiara says
"and if he does hurt you, call me so i can go chop him off and put him in kiara's fridge" scarlett smirks
"ew that's disgusting" she replies
we laugh and continue to talk more about our lives, we went to downtown for a while to walk around and take random pictures of each other. we ended up going to scarlett's house after we were done
it's been a few hours and it was now 10 pm, i told the girls if they could walk me home in which they agreed since jack wasn't answering his phone
i got back to the house and noticed jack's car wasn't in the drive way which was weird
i got in the house and saw finn and chosen eating in the kitchen
"oh, hi y/n" chosen says
"hey guys" i stop
"uh is jack home?"
"no, he's been gone almost the whole afternoon" chosen replies
"he's with that raylynn bitch i think" finn responds with food in his mouth
"ew don't talk with your mouth full" i say looking disgusted
"sorry this food is bussin bussin" he says
"i'm sure he'll be back soon" chosen replies
"okay... well ima go to sleep goodnight" i say
"have a nice sleep" i hear chosen say as i run up the stairs
i go to the room and see sophia sleeping
i do my night routine and lay down on my bed putting my phone to charge
soon enough, i start drifting off
- 3 am -
i randomly wake up really thirsty and notice i don't have water with me. i slowly get out of bed and make my way downstairs
as i'm grabbing my cup of water, out of curiosity i decide to look out the window and notice that jack's car still isn't here
what the hell
why and where would he be out this late especially at midnight?
