Edward didn't come to school the next day, or the day after that.
The third day he did show up.
Bella and Dade were leaning against her loud truck, Bella was reading her book, Dade was waiting for Alice.
They were going to walk to Gym together.
They had become friends. Jessica and the rest of them were more bellas friends. Except Angela.
Angela was usually the person Dade talked to at lunch.
The whispering and staring stopped.
Now everyone was use to the girls.
A jeep and silver Volvo pulled into the parking lot. Emmett was standing in the back.
Dade stood up straight and waited for Alice.
She was surprised to see Edward come out of the Volvo but ignored him, focusing her attention on Alice.
When Alice stepped out of the car, she didn't look in Dades direction, she avoided her gaze and walked with Jasper.
Dade frowned. Thats strange. Usually she walked up to Dade and said hello or something.
Dade shrugged it off and turned to Bella.
Bella was staring at Edward, her gaze burning holes into the side of his head.
Dade nudged Bella. "Go confront him"
"I'll wait until class."
Dade rolled her eyes. "Wussy"
Bella rolled her eyes and started walking to class.
Dade had Gym. When she got there, Alice wasn't anywhere in the Gym.
Rosalie was there. Edward wasn't.
Dade sat on the bench and started reading. She felt a tap on here shoulder and saw rosalie.
"What?" She asked.
Rosalie smiled and sat down. "Is Alice ignoring you?"
"No. She didn't walk to class with me this morning and she didn't say good morning. Why?"
Rosalie sighed. "Do you like Alice?"
"Yeah she's a great friend"
"Hmm.. I'm sorry."
"For what?" Dade asked.
"For my brother's attitude towards your sister. He thinks you are bad for Alice, that's why she's ignoring you"
"She's ignoring me because of something your brother said?"
"Edward has a big influence on our family. They all listen to him. Not me though, I don't care what he has to say."
"Why are you talking to me?" Dade asked.
"You make my sister happy. In a short amount of time, you've known each other. And I think she shouldn't ignore you because my stupid brother said so" Rosalie stood up and started down at Dade.
"She can't ignore you for more than two hours. Talk to her"
"Oh uh okay?"
Rosalie walked away towards her spot watching the people play their game.
Dade stood up and exited the Gym.
"Alice, alice...where are you?" Dade muttered.
She thought of all the places Alice could be. "Car? No. Class?.. Wait right now is Gym....under the stair case? Yes!"
Dade walked down the hallway, she turned a corner and saw a familiar person sitting under the stair way.
Alice looked up at Dade and stared back down at her hands.
"Hey" Dade said.
Alice didn't respond.
Dade sighed. "So Rosalie wasn't lying.."
"What?" Alice said softly.
"She told me Edward told you to ignore me, so is it true?"
Alice nodded.
"Why? You know you don't have to listen to him, right?"
Alice continued staring at her hands.
"Alice..."
No response.
Dade sighed and sat down. "Cmon, Alice talk to me."
Alice shook her head.
"Please? I'll leave you alone after this for as much time as you want, alright?"
"I don't want you to leave me alone" Alice whispered so quietly, that Dade didn't hear it.
Dade nudged the girls elbow with her own.
Alice smiled a bit.
"Alice. Alice cmon!" Dade whined.
Alice shook her head. She knew she wanted to talk to Dade, but Edward said no to. And he knew best. Alice was starting to think otherwise.
Just because Edward wasn't talking to Bella, didn't mean Alice had to stop talking to Dade.
Dade sighed and grabbed Alices face.
"Anything! Just say anything! Scream i don't care! Just talk to me."
Alice stared at her face completely mesmerized.
She studied it. She never wanted to forget what Dades face looked like. And she never would.
Her eyes traveled from her lips, to her freckles, to her nose, her slightly pink cheeks, finally landing on the girls eyes.
Her lips pulled into a faint smile, and she finally gave in.
"I'm sorry. Edward made me."
Dade's eyebrows farrowed. She frowned. "Does he do that alot? Does he boss you around?"
"No, not really. Lately he's been doing it alot more because of your sister"
Alice's eyes widened. She wasn't suppose to say that, but she was so lost in Dades eyes that she didn't realize what she was saying until it came tumbling out of her mouth.
"Why does he hate her?"
"He doesn't hate her, he's just in denial."
Dade stared at Alice confused.
"What is he in denial about?"
Alice shook her head which was hard, since Dade was holding her cheeks tightly.
"Alice." Dade said looking in the girls eyes, which darted everywhere but Dades eyes.
"Your eyes are gold.." Dade muttered all of a sudden.
"Yeah...they're contacts.." Alice said.
"Contacts..really?" Dade said.
Alice gulped. Dades scent filled her nose, making her want to be closer to the girl.
No. I have to wait. Alice thought.
Dade leaned forward, to get a better look at Alice's eyes.
"They don't look like contacts. Thats..pretty. I didn't know you could get them in gold" Dade said.
Alice was frozen in her spot.
I can't. I can't do this. I, oh my god shes gorgeous. Alice panicked.
She wanted to move but she was so comfortable in this position.
Dade felt a cold breeze of air pass through. She shivered.
"Whats the matter?" Alice asked.
"Didn't you feel that?" Dade realeased Alices face she rubbed her arms.
Alice noticed the hairs on Dades neck stood up. "I didn't feel anything."
Dade stared down at the goosebumps on her arm. The breeze felt like someone poured ice cold water on her.
She felt anxious for some reason.
She felt lightheaded.
"Dade, are you okay?" Alice asked.
"Yeah, I'm just a bit light headed."
Dade felt the familiar cold breeze again. But this time it didnt pass. Dade rubbed her arms in an attempt to bring warmth to them but nothing happened.
"Hel...help.."
Dade whipped her head around in the direction she heard the voice come from.
Dade felt sick for some reason. She didn't feel like this before.
Alice was really concerned now.
"Dade are you okay? Do you want to go home?"
"I think i'm okay." Dade said.
Alice pressed a cold hand to her forehead.
Her eyes widened. "Oh no you are not okay. You have a fever"
"No" Dade did feel extreamly sick.
"Yes, yes you do. We need to bring you home"
"I'n fine.." Dade yawned. She wanted to sleep in a comfy bed.
"No, i'm taking you home." Alice grabbed Dades waist and lifted her up.
She kept her arm around Dades waist.
Dade almost passed out but managed to stay awake.
"Did you eat something bad?"
"No. Alice i'm fine"
Alice dragged the girl through the hallway. She exited the building, Dade was greeted with cold air.
Alice unlocked a red car, and opened the door.
She placed Dade in, and went to the front seat.
"Whos car is this?" Dade asked sleepily.
"Rosalies. I already let her know i was using it though"
"Oh."
Alice started the engine and pulled out of the parking lot.
Dade leaned her head on Alices shoulder.
Her eyes fluttered shut, her arm wrapped around Alices stomach.
Alice brifely looked down at the girl and smiled. She wrapped her arm around the girls shoulder.

"Dade, Dade."
Someone lightly shook Dade.
Dade groaned and turned around.
She heard a giggle.
"Dade, wake up. We're here"
Dade snuggled up to her bag.
Someone sighed and wrapped they're arm around Dades waist.
They lifted her up, which made her groan and open her eyes abit.
"Where's the key?"
"Under the mat" Dade answered.
Alice grabbed the key and unlocked the door.
Dade felt someone place her on a comfy bed. She opened her eyes and saw Alice staring down at her.
"How'd you get up to my room so fast?" Dade yawned.
Alice smiled. "I didn't. It was a struggle carrying you up here" Alice said.
Dade struggled to keep her eyes open, she was able to for a bit.
She started down at the bed. "This is Bellas." She got up and grabbed some clothes.
Alice looked away while she changed. Dade fell on the bed and pulled the blanket over her head.
Alice stood at the edge of the bed, starting down at the girl.
"I need to get going.." Alice said.
Dade frowned. "Stay?" She asked.
Alice smiled. "Dade, I can't."
Dade was on the verge of passing out but forced herself to sat awake.
Her finger tips grabbed the ends on Alices cold ones.
"Stay? Please?" Dade stared up at Alice with puppy dog eyes.
Alice giggled. "Fine."
Dade smiled and tugged on Alices hand. "Yay.." She said sleepily.
Alice took off her sweater and shoes. She laid in the bed next to Dade, who was starting at her with a goofy grin.
Alice prompt herself on her elbow and stared at Dade.
"Are you okay?" Alice said.
"Better with you.." Dade mumbled sleepily.
Alices eyes widened slightly. She pressed her hand to Dades warm forehead.
Dade grabbed it with her own. "Mmm...that feels nice" Dade placed Alices cold hand on her cheek.
Alice giggled, Dade snuggled into her hand.
"Your boyfriends probably worried about you" Dade mumbled.
"Boyfriend?" Alice questioned.
"Yeah, ramen noodle hair man"
"Do you mean jasper?"
"Jasper the ghost" Dade giggled.
"Oh honey your really sick" Alice said, with a concerned smile.
"Jaspers your boyfriend. Right?" Dade said bitterly.
Alice laughed.
"What?" Dade stared up at her confused.
"Jaspers not my boyfriend. Why did you think he was?" Alice asked
"I don't know."
"He's my best friend. He's not exactly my...type.." Alice said.
Dade grinned. "Good..thats good.."
Alice raised an eyebrow. "Why?"
No response.
Alice looked down and saw that Dades eyes were closed. Her breathing was soft, her chest slowly raising up and down.
Alice smiled. Dade wrapped her arms around Alice, and moved her leg between both of Alices. She snuggled into Alices chest.
alice stared down at her before hesitately leaning down and pressing a soft kiss on the girls forehead.
Her lips lingered there for a bit before she pulled away and moved a strand of hair behind Dades ear.
Alice sighed. "You make my dead heart beat so fast Dade" she whispered before closing her eyes even though she couldn't sleep.
