The next day

Brenda's POV

"Hey Mercedes, what time do we have to go to meet Mr. Johnson?" I asked, sitting on the couch beside Puck.

"Around 12, why?"

"I was just wondering. I'm gonna go get ready." I said. It's 11 o'clock. I wore my hair down, put on a tank top, and shorts with eyeliner and mascara. I was ready by 11:45 and we left. Mercedes drove while I sat in the passenger seat nervous as hell. My leg was bouncing up and down out of habit.

"Nervous?" Mercedes asked.

"Hell yes."

"Ha ha, don't worry. He's even nicer once you get to know him. He's insanely laid back." She replied. I nodded. We got there and by then, I had relaxed a bit. I coudln't stop thinking about Sam today for some reason. I wiped a tear away before Mercedes could see. She led me into the building. She knocked on the door and opened it when a faint voice called,

"Come in girls!" It was as if he knew it was us.

"Hey, Mr. Johnson." Mercedes said, opening the door he smiled when he saw us.

"Hi." I said shyly.

"No need to be shy, Ms. Jackson." He said kindly, motioning for us to sit down. I smiled. We sat down and I said,

"Just call me Brenda."

"Okay." He grinned." And you can call me Matthew." I nodded, smiling. He took out a small stack of paper.

"Okay, the first piece of paper, I will fill out, which state's that I offered you a record deal and such, okay?" You just have to sign the bottom." I nodded. After he filled it out, I signed it. He flipped it over to the blank side and put it to the side.

"I'm just going to ask you these questions okay? And I'll write it all down." I nodded again." Full name?"

"Brenda Pearl Anne Jackson." He wrote it down.

"Eye color?"

"Brown."

"Natural hair color?"

"Brown."

"Height?"

"5'6."

"Age?"

"18."

"Birthday?"

"September 8th, 1998."

"Your birthday is next month huh?"

"Yes sir." He smiled.

"Hobbies?"

"Singing, dancing, reading, writing songs."

"Are you single?" I'm sorry for the unnecessary questions, I have to ask them."

"Oh, it's fine. I'm no-, yes I'm single."

"Okay, Parents?"

"My mom, Donna Jackson, my dad, William Jackson Sr."

"Are both alive?"

"My dad died when I was 15."

"When?"

"June 27th."

"Any Siblings?"

"Chris Jackson, who is 30, and my twin brother, Kevin Jackson."

"Okay, just a few more questions."

"Okay."

"How do you feel about singing country songs as well as pop?" I smiled widely.

"That would be amazing! I write po and country songs."

"Great! I want you to read over this contract, and if you agree to everything, I'll tell you where to sign." I nodded and he handed me the pieces of paper. I read it quickly, but carefully. I put the paper back on the table. and nodded.

"I agree to all of it."

"Great, sign the highlighted lines." He highlighted a couple of lines on each piece of paper. I signed them and gave it back to him. He put it in a yellow folder with my name on it, and put it in a drawer.

"Alright, lets talk business! You do know that signing the contract means that you have to record a cover album, a album with your original songs, at least one Christmas album, and five music videos that we pay for?"

"Yes sir. I'm perfectly fine with that." He grinned again and leaned back in his chair.

"Great, now lets talk about your appearance and style." I looked at him confused." I don't mean it in a bad way, do I Ms. Jones?"

"Nope."

"Oh, okay."

"It sort of came out wrong. You're a beautiful girl, and I can tell that your sense of style is great."

"Oh, thank you."

"I have a few more things to talk about and you can go, okay?"

"Alright."

"When is the next day you're off from work?"

"Well, we only work on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday's. We have tomorrow and Thursday off."

"Okay good, do you think you could come back on Thursday?"

"Um, probably."

"Why?" Mercedes asked.

"You remember when I first gave you a record deal, Jennifer took you too the salon and got your hair done, and a few other things. Then she took you shopping."

" Yeah."

"Well, Jennifer is gonna take you both on Thursday. And don't wear makeup okay?"

"Um, okay." We stood up after he stood up. I shook his hand.

"It was great working with you."

"You too, Mr. John-Matthew." I laughed. We started to leave and he called to us.

"Wait a second!" I stopped and turned towards him. Mercedes said that she'd wait in the car.

"Yes?"

"Could you write down al of the songs that you wrote? And at least 15 of your favorite songs, or songs you want on your cover album?"

"Yes sir. Do you want me to bring them Thursday?"

"Yeah, if that's okay. And if you can, will you bring the lyrics to your songs?"

"Sure, I was kind of already planning on doing that." I said cheekily. He laughed.

"Can I get a picture too? I'm not one of those perverted producers or anything. I do this with all of my clients."

"Yeah, sure."

"Margret! Get in here with your camera!" He yelled. A woman with short brown hair came out. She's really pretty.

"Brenda, this is my wife Margret. Margret, this is my future star, Brenda Jackson. She's the one I was telling you about."

"Hi, you're really pretty. Picture time! Smile!" I smiled, my hands together in front of me." Thank you." She took a few more and left.

"You can go now, be sure to watch the news tonight at 6!" He said walking me out.

"Um, okay?" I said, feeling like I've said 'um' a thousand times today, and walked to the car, where Mercedes was waiting.

"What'd he want?"She asked.

"He asked me to list my original songs, and songs I want to sing for the cover album and he wanted a picture. Then he told me to watch the news tonight at six."

"Oh Lord girl."

"What?"

"You're going to be known all over the world by tomorrow."

"How so?" I was confused.

"He asked me to send you the video of you singing yesterday."

"You got that on video?" I shrieked. She laughed, pulling into McDonald's. She ordered our food, the boys as well, and we left again.

"Yeah. He the did same with me. Put the video of me singing 'Disco Inferno' on the news and talked about me. He put the picture on there too."

"Oh my god!" I exclaimed. She laughed again." I can't wait to see what he says."

"He's probably say something along the lines of 'This is Brenda Jackson, new super star' or something like that." She answered as I unlocked the door, The boys ran into the kitchen, knowing we had food. Maybe because they yelled,

"FOOD!" and took the bag of food from us.

"Damn, y'all are hungry, ain't ya?" I asked.

"Yes." Puck said, stuffing a bunch of fries in his mouth. We sat down and started eating.

"How'd it go?" Chord asked. I explained everything to them.

TIME SKIP

5:55 PM

I ran into the living room 5 minutes before six o'clock and jumped on the couch between Chord and Puck. I quickly texted everyone I know and told them to turn the news on. I was literally bouncing in my seat.

"For the first part of today's news, we have Mr. Matthew Johnson here to tell us about his newest singer, Brenda Jackson! So, Mr. Jackson, how did you discover Ms. Jackson?"

"Well, Chord Overstreet actually introduced me to her. She works at the local cafe, 'Music Cafe'. She performed an original song for me, and my most recent client, Ms. Mercedes Jones, Chord's girlfriend, recorded it and sent it to me. Here is is." After the video was played, the woman said,

"I know who she is! She's Allan Jackson's niece! There was a video of her and her boyfriend singing on the news a couple of videos."

"She has a boyfriend?"

"She told me she was single, although she started to say that she was taken. They must have broken up or something."

"Probably. Her boyfriend, or ex boyfriend, is Sam Evans, Chord's twin brother." They started talking about him but I turned the TV off.

"Hey! Why;d you turn it off?" Puck whined.

"I don;t want to hear them talk about...him." I said sadly.

"Oh."

"Yeah."

Sorry for the mistakes!
