maggie grinned at the boy's messages. he had told her a many a story of how his brother was basically incapable of being a normal human being.
she threw on a pair of ripped mom jeans, a black strappy cropped top with a light blue flannel, and slipped on a pair of classic black vans.
she smiled when she arrived at 9:02 and ethan was sitting at a table seemingly waiting for her. "hi."
"hey, mags." ethan slide the cup over to her. "iced coffee with almond milk for the one and only."
"always." she giggled. "why the spontaneous coffee trip?"
"i just wanted to hang out with you, i feel like we never get to do this anymore." ethan frowned and maggie laughed.
"we practically never leave each other alone! you talked to me through the door of the bathroom while i was taking a bath yesterday, eth." he gave her a toothy grin.
"okay the real reason is because my dad's hosting a banquet, more of a retirement party. he's officially stepping down and giving the company to me."
maggie turned her head to the side. "you mean you and grayson?"
he shook his head. "grayson doesn't want to own the company, only work for it. i've always wanted to take this position.. ever since i was a little kid."
"and i was wondering if you wanted to be my date to the banquet."
ethan bit down on his lip like a child as he waited for maggie's answer.
"i would be honored." she grinned and ethan smiled widely. "when is it?"
"tomorrow night at six."

isabelle ran up and down the isles of the dress store like a little kid. this store had everything. or at least it felt like everything.
wedding dresses, prom dresses, bridesmaid dresses... you name it.
maggie found herself digging through a section where a sparkly dress stuck out. she came into the store wanting a yellow or purple dress, but this particular one almost made her drool.

"are you maggie?" a woman asked maggie. she slightly jumped.
"o-oh, yes i am!"
lisa took the dress maggie was eyeing off of the rack and threw it over her shoulder. "ethan told me a lot about you! i'll open up a dressing room for you and isabelle. let me know if you need any help."

izzy ran up to maggie with a black dress wrapped in her arms. "i'm ready to check out."
"try it on first!!" maggie suggested.
the two girls went into the dressing rooms, izzy trying on her dress first.
it was a black sparkly dress with a high slit. isabelle twirled in it, but it had clips in the back as it was a size too big. "i can easily tailor it for you, just give me about ten minutes."
it was obvious that this was lisa's passion. she probably got her wedding dress from her own store.
maggie then tried on her dress. it was a champagne color that sparkled when light hit it. maggie felt like a princess when the fabric was placed on her skin.
"i think we've found your dresses, girls." lisa smiled as they walked up to the register with their dresses in bags.
"oh i forgot to tell you! it's on the house."
"you don't have to do that!" they stammered at the same time.
lisa hugged their necks. "oh please, i insist. i'll see you at the banquet tomorrow."
