We walk to my place. My mother is waiting at the front door.
Mother - Where were you?
Laura - Mother, I was with Jughead, He was helping me catch up on English so I understand what we are doing. I did come half way through the year.
Mother - Ok so why is he here?
Laura - Mother don't be so rude. He's staying with us for as long as he needs.
Mother - If Laura trusts you, then I trust you Mr. Jones.
Jughead - Thank you. To be honest, I live on the streets so this will be a nice change of scenery.
Mother - Oh I'm sorry dear, I'll set the guest room for you.
She walks to the guest room and cleans it up.
Mother - Here you are dear, stay as long as you need. I mean it.
Jughead - Thank you Mrs. Lahey
Mother - Please call me Angela
Jughead - Thank you Angela
Mother goes to the kitchen
Mother - Are you hungry?
Jughead - If you're making something, I can eat.
Mother smiles and signals me to take him to his room.
Laura - To be honest, I don't even know my way around the house, I'm just as lost as you are.
We laugh and walk into his room.
Laura - Well this is your room. I know it's small but it'll make do.
Jughead - Thank you... Just don't tell Betty anything. Not that I was homeless, not that I'm living with you. I trust you.
Laura - Yeah. You can trust me. I don't crack, even in interrogation, hence why I'm one of the best FBI's.
Mother comes in and brings Jug some food.
Mother - Did you want some Laura?
Laura - No mother. I'm not hungry.
Mother - Oh Laura, you never eat. You have to eat.
She walks out and Jug looks at me like, What's not being said.
Laura - I don't eat much. I'm not hungry.
Jughead - I saw what you ate today. That isn't enough food.
Laura - Jug, I'm fine, no, I'm fantastic.
Jughead looks at me like, you're not fine.
Laura - If it makes you happy, I'll get an apple and eat it.
Jughead - I was hoping for a meal, but that will do.
I smile and grab an apple and walk back to his room. We just sit there talking each other's ears off.
Jughead - Well, we better get some sleep. We can talk to Sheriff Keller tomorrow after school.
Laura - Sounds like a plan. Sleep well Jug.
Jughead - You too Laura.
As we say good night I close his door and Isaac scares me
Laura - Isaac wtf.
Isaac - Hooking up with Jug?
Laura - No, he was helping me with English.
Isaac - Yeah, that sounded like English.
Laura - I mean when I left the house, after you told me the story about you and Betty. He knows, by the way. But, because I'm the best, he thinks it's FBI shit. Stop. Hooking. Up. With .Betty. Got it?
I pat his shoulder and walk to my room.
