Their friendship began when a Thai who grew up in Paris moved to Korea. They were neighbors. They instantly clicked and became friends. They liked many things in common but also bicker sometimes which makes them accept their differences. Lisa was eight and Jennie was nine, being the older and cutely responsible one, she protects Lisa from the kids that want to bully her.

Every day, Lisa would tell stories about Paris to Jennie and promised to bring her there one day.

They thought that nothing could change how perfect their relationship was but life happened. Life has this thing called changes and change is a constant thing.

When Jennie turned seventeen, she introduced her boyfriend to Lisa where the latter didn't see that coming. Jennie never mentioned the guy to her. One more thing that made it worse was that Lisa was ready to confess her romantic love for her best friend. She was in love with her since the first day she laid her eyes on her.

Since then, Lisa slowly distanced herself from Jennie, hoping that her feelings for her will disappear like stupid magic. She wished she could but the more she sees Jennie and Kai together in school, makes her heart craves for the girl even more.

Avoiding Jennie was like avoiding raindrops with no umbrella. It was for the first time, she hated the fact that Jennie lives across their house. How can she move on when the innocent one has no complete idea about her feelings and keeps on clinging to her.

The only time she got the chance to breathe from Jennie's torture was during the couple's date. She never hated the guy. Kai was a nice guy and she has no reason to hate him aside from the fact that he has the girl she ever wanted but Kai makes Jennie happy and that is all that matters to her.

The time came where Jennie and Kai graduated, leaving Lisa alone but that doesn't make their friendship different from before. Jennie never failed to visit Lisa every weekend since she moved to Seoul where she and Kai decided to study.

"You can't move on if you keep on doing that." Jungkook snatched Lisa's phone from her hands "Staring at her picture won't help you."

"Give it back, Kookie." Lisa stood from her seat to get her phone from the new friend she just made last summer

All the students were in the canteen while the two stayed since they had a hangover from secretly drinking last night.

"Two weeks, Lisa. Two weeks and you'll be with her again." Jungkook gave the phone to its owner "I really can't stand how dense Jennie is. She can't see how in love you are to her."

"It's because she's in love with someone else." Lisa sat back in her seat "Why don't we just date? Just date me."

Jungkook laughed "Why would I date a girl who's in love with her best friend?" But he saw that Lisa is not laughing at all, meaning the girl is serious "You're not serious, right?"

"Why not? What if you could help me to move on?" Lisa suggested, "I know you're ga..."

Lisa couldn't finish her words cause Jungkook already covered her mouth "Shut the fuck up, Lisa." He looked around before removing his hand from Lisa's mouth "Here's what I can offer. I'll pretend to be your boyfriend when Jennie is around."

"Why would you pretend? It's not like she'll get jealous."

"What if she'll get jealous? What if that will help her to discover her true feelings for you?" He sat on Lisa's desk "If it doesn't work then we could stop and tell them that we broke up."

Lisa thought about it for a while. Jungkook's offer is not hard to accept but too risky.

"Okay but no kisses and..."

"Definitely no kisses and hugs. Like ew."

"Your best friend finally got her boyfriend." Kai showed the post that Lisa made on Instagram "I thought she's just friends with that Jungkook?"

They are in Jennie's apartment, taking a break from their endless make-out on the couch while watching some Korean drama series.

She looked at the picture of Lisa kissing Jungkook on his cheek with a caption "Guess who finally got the balls to ask me out?"

"Why didn't she tell me about this?" She got up from the couch and took her phone from the center table. "I'm going to call her."

"You should stop being her big sister. She has her own mind now, she can date whoever she wants." Kai said irritatedly "You yourself didn't even tell her about us before you introduced me to her."

"Because I know she'll get mad for having a boyfriend before college. We promised each other that we'll have boyfriends after high school and..."

"And you're reacting like that because she did the same?" Kai sighed "Go, call her now. Let's see what she will tell you."

Jennie then contemplated what she'll do. She wants clarification from her best friend but her boyfriend was right, she has no right to react that way.

"I'll call her." She then left the living room and went to the kitchen to seat on the marble counter

"Jen."

"Hey, uh. I saw your post about Jungkook." Jennie bite her lower lip "Is it true?"

"You saw it yourself, Jenjen." Lisa giggled "Aren't you happy for me?"

Jennie wanted to say no but instantly questioned herself why. Why wouldn't she be happy for her best friend where Lisa supported her relationship with Kai from the beginning despite breaking her promise?

"Of course, I'm happy for you." Jennie looked down, watched her own feet swing "Do you love him?"

There was silence in the other line before Lisa said "I do. He makes me happy just like how Kai makes you happy."

"That's... great." Jennie released a deep sigh "I'll hang up now. See you on your graduation day."

She went back to her boyfriend who already fell asleep. A smile crept on her lips while she crouched down to stare at Kai's pretty face.

"I love you." She muttered before kissing his lips

~~

"She believed it?"

Lisa put down her phone "Yes but I don't think posting it is a good idea. Now we have to pretend to everyone."

"So? Everyone thought that we're dating anyway. Blame your clingy damn ass." Jungkook laid flat on Lisa's bed with his head on Lisa's lap "It's a favor on my side."

"Why is that?" Lisa combed Jungkook's hair using her fingers

Jungkook was right, everyone in school thought that they were a thing where in fact Jungkook is just her boy best friend.

There were times she wished that Jungkook isn't gay and just divert her feelings to him but that's impossible. Jungkook likes boys and her feelings for Jennie are only for Jennie.

"Dad likes you for me and I'm so tired of him suspecting that I'm gay." Jungkook sighed "He'll kill me if he finds out that I like boys." He closed his eyes, feeling relaxed from Lisa's fingers on his head

"Your dad seems cool. Are you really that afraid of him?"

"He's cool when it comes to you but when it comes to me? He's like Hitler. Do this and do that. And when I show no interest in boys stuffs he'll ask 'Are you gay?', so sick of him."

Now Lisa knows why Jungkook always wanted to hang out in Lisa's house; to avoid his dad.

"Maybe he's just waiting for you to tell him." Lisa opened her camera and took a picture of Jungkook "This handsome face should be posted."

"I doubt." He sat up to sit next to Lisa "Let me see my picture."

Lisa showed the picture she just posted on Instagram.

"Are you really sure about this? We're fooling everyone, especially our parents." Lisa locked her phone and leaned her head on Jungkook's broad shoulder

"Well, if you really want to back out, you can delete your posts, call your best friend and tell her that we're just trying to make her jealous."

"Nous sommes en grande difficulté."
(We are in deep trouble.)
