Blaze and Everleigh always liked the idea of sharing the same hobbies or interests. Like getting Everleigh into reading comics, for example. Blaze loved them and has loved them for years, that was probably one of the first things Everleigh noticed about the things he liked. The same goes with Everleigh, she tried getting her boyfriend into reading books but in the end it wasn't something they could bond over. They loved watching Alfred Hitchcock movies or reruns of Dawson's Creek together. And then there was that occasionally trouble they would cause in Chicago.

But not once has Everleigh thought about skating with a skateboard. Which was a shock, really, considering there doesn't go a day where you don't see Blaze without a skateboard. So it really shocked the Morgan girl when she came to that realization.

(A lot of times if Blaze wanted to hang out and it involved a skateboard, Everleigh would get out her inline skates. But if you really wanted to go all the way back to when the two were kids, she'd use a stunt scooter — and that was just to impress Blaze. )

She just wasn't expecting skating of all things to be so scary.

    "I'm gonna die." Everleigh states.

Blaze denies, "You're not going to die."

    "You don't know that."

"Stop. You're doing just fine. Trust me."

She gasps melodramatically, looking around, "Did you hear that? I think death is calling me."

He gives her a dry look. All Everleigh has done so far was stand on the board, allowing her to have a feel how it's like. Blaze wouldn't let his girlfriend get hurt, not under his watch. He had his hands on her waist while hers were placed on his shoulders. So if there was a chance of the board moving, he had a grip on her. All she did was stand on the board.

"You're over exaggerating. This is the easy part."

Her eyes go wide, "This is the easy part?! Sitting on the board is the easy part."

"That's just you being lazy," Everleigh slaps his shoulder and Blaze laughs, "Ow!— Don't worry, I got you."

"You know who else got me? "

    "Who?"

    "The grim reaper."

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

She should be asleep. She knew that. It was half eleven at night and she should be sound asleep but she wasn't. The girl only had late night coffee to blame. So instead of staying in bed, she went on a stroll around Stars Hollow because apparently that's exactly what you do at night.

Not one single person was seen outside as she took a walk. Just her and peace and silence. That of course was until she noticed a figure moving around near Doose's. Her eyebrows crease together as she slowly approaches the person kneeling down and back up. His back still facing her but she could recognize his features instantly.

    "Need a hand?" She asks.

He wasn't startled the slightest as he kneels back down with a white chalk stick in his hand, "Nope."

"I can help." She analyses their surroundings, only to see a small bucket of chalk sticks and a yellow tape. She furrows her brow, "Whatever it is you're doing."

"I still don't need your help."

"I can't go home just yet."

He stands back up observing the pavement, not even glancing in her direction, "That's not my problem."

"I was supposed to stay at Blaze's house tonight but we got in a fight and my dad's not asleep yet," The lies roll off her tongue effortlessly, "I so do not want to explain all of it to my dad."

"Here's a tip—," He finally looks at her, "I'm no Leo Martin so if you got problems, go to him not me."

"Fine, I'll go." She pouts and looks down as she turns around. Everleigh slowly starts walking away, waiting for the call back and seconds later he does.

"Wait...—" Jess stops her movements, hiding her smile as she turns to him. He looks away as he drags out the offer with hesitation, "I could use an extra pair of hands."

"Cool. — What do you want me to do?" She walks back, standing next to him.

    "Lay down."

"Uhh..." She crunches up her nose, "I got a boyfriend."

He rolls his eyes, "Don't make it weird."

She raises hands up in defense, "Hey, you're the one making me lay down under the moonlight with no one around. Just two teenagers together. To me that —"

"Morgan." He interrupts her unnecessarily teasing, "You want to help or what?"

"Okay, okay," She mumbles laying down under his command, "Someone's cranky."

With a heavy sigh the boy explains the plan he had in mind to the girl who was all too intrigued. Not making a comment or teasing him, just simply listening and nodding along. Faking a crime scene just seemed a genius idea and the girl was surprised she didn't think about that sort of prank before. The look on Taylor's face would be worth millions.

After Jess outlined her body with a chalk strip, he extends his hand out for her to take and she raises a brow. Everleigh glances at his hand and then back at him. He gives her a deadpan look and the girl finally accepts it with a roll of her eye, "You really should work on your people skills. No offence but you suck." She jumps up with the help of Jess and looks down at the outline of what's supposed to be a faux body. She tilts her head, "I really was expecting something much better than this."

"No please, explain how you really feel. Don't hold back." He comments sarcastically and the girl immediately regrets the choice of words.

"Sorry," She apologizes and brushes down her hands against the jeans, trying to change the subject as she glances at him, "I don't mean to pry but how come you're always alone. You've been here almost two months."

He shrugs, "I have enough friends, don't need more."

"Ah yes, Harrison, Penny, Milo and Julia," The girl taps her head once, "How could I forget about them. Silly me. "

"Do I even want to know what you're talking about?" He questions boringly.

"Yes — one of the best movies to exist." He walks past her to grab the tapes, rolling his eyes at the comment, "I mean if we're working together and being all mischievous, we should get to know each other.—"

    "Pass. "

"— I've never seen you with anyone besides Luke." She presses further ignoring his dismissal.

"Jeez, it really is your way or no way." He mumbles and gives her one of the yellow tapes.

She smiles jokingly and steps aside, "See, you're already learning so much about me."

He scoffs, decorating the outside of Doose's market with the yellow crime scene tape, not even trying to carry on their conversation. Well, Everleigh was pushing her luck and knew it wouldn't go the way she wanted it. So the easiest option was to drop it and she did.

Until a moment passed and the guy sighs heavily, "I'm not staying here long-term wise, so there's no point in making friends. As soon as I graduate, I'm gone."

The girl was kneeling down, making the chalk outline more neater as the guy spoke. She glances up at him, surprised by his honesty but doesn't take it for granted, "That's still like almost two years. A lot can happen in two years."

"Not to me." He shrugs nonchalantly.

That made her shoulders fall, pursing lips together with furrowed brows, thinking. A second later, she confesses, "A year ago I thought I would still be in Chicago living my life, continuing a perfect relationship and having best friends for life. Now, I'm here with what it's starting to feel like a broken relationship and no longer having friends that I consider my best friends. So trust me, a lot can happen even in a year."

That perks his attention and he gazes over to the girl, "You're not from here?"

"Nope," She chuckles dryly, "I moved here from Chicago a month or so before you did. I just so happen to bring my problems here with me. You on the other hand are given the opportunity to start fresh."

"Huh, you're right. Your life sucks more than mine does." He says, the tone more teasing than serious.

"Ha-ha," She squints her eyes, throwing the chalk stick at him.

He manages to dodge the chalk and laughs lightly. He raises his hands up, "Hey, man you're the one that said it not me. I just agreed."

She stands up, crossing arms, trying to hide a smile creeping up on her face, "You know what? I liked you better when you didn't speak."

"You're the one that made most of the talking, not me."

    "Oh, my God."

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

The next morning, she felt as if she hadn't slept at all, her eyes feeling heavy as ever. To be quite honest, she was ready for the day to be over already, so she can go back to bed and catch up with her sleep. However, the day just started and she had to survive it all.

It also didn't help when her dad woke her up to let her know, Blaze was waiting for her downstairs. She had no choice but to get up and start the day and that would also explain why the girl was holding onto Blaze's arm like it was a comfort pillow, supporting her.

After Jess and her finished the scene, the two carried on messing around, laughing and even at one point talking about her life in Chicago. Just leaving out the parts of her issues when it came to her relationship and why she mentioned it was starting to feel like a broken one. Or any questions surrounding her and Blaze. It already felt as if she said too much in that moment but nevertheless she was happy Jess didn't ask questions about it either.

If there's one thing she learned about Jess last night, it was the approach she had to make to get the two talking. Since the two enjoyed each other's company in the end and communicating seemed easier by the time the two said goodbyes.

Maybe if she really wanted to be friends with Jess, she should not force him into opening up to her and allow him to get comfortable around her before asking any personal questions. — Maybe she should actually listen to her own advice one in a while.

"How are you so tired?" Blaze asks, glancing down at her.

She rubs her eye with a hand that wasn't wrapped around her boyfriend's arm and yawns, "I couldn't sleep."

    "Why?"

She hesitates for a moment. Lie or tell the truth. Those were her only options and she chooses, the easy one. She tells half of the truth, "I drank coffee an hour before going to bed, so I struggled to fall asleep."

"Of course you did." He laughs, shaking his head, "You should've called me, so you weren't alone."

"And wake you up? No, thanks, I'll pass." She looks up at him and then rests her head back against his bicep, carrying on walking.

" Won't be the first time I would've stayed awake around that time. So it's cool." She feels him shrugging the other side of his shoulder and she rolls her eyes without him seeing. Instead of answering, the girl stayed quiet, letting the two continue walking around the town until they witnessed a small crowd surrounding Doose's market, along with a police car and fire engine pulling up.

"No way," The girl mumbles, clasping a hand over her mouth, holding in a laugh that was ready to burst out.

She wishes Jess would have seen the scene he created because it was hilarious.

He looks down at her with a puzzled look, "Did you know about this?"

"What?" Her lips tug downwards, shaking head, "Of course not."

She drags her boyfriend towards the scene while searching for the face she was looking for but he was nowhere to be seen. So her focus lands on Dean instead and she moves away from Blaze to approach him.

"Taylor," Dean says as she falls in line next to him, her boyfriend not long after joining them, "It's fake. At least it looks like it."

Dean notices her presence and smiles in acknowledgment. Taylor points at the chalk outline, "How does it look fake?! Someone was murdered in front of my store, you can see where the body was placed."

Everleigh muffles a laugh and Blaze with Dean gives her a questionable look. Noticing the staring from them she points at Taylor, "I'm sorry. He is losing his marbles."

Dean seems to buy the excuse, Blaze didn't. His gaze lingered onto her more than it should and she knew he was staring to see through her. Acting oblivious, she forces a smile onto her face and shifts weight onto tip tops to give a quick peck on his lips, drawing attention away. And it did the job as expected.

As Taylor continues arguing with the police officer, Rory and Lane manage to squeeze through, standing next to Dean on the other side, "Hey, What's going on?"

Dean replies, "I don't know. I got here, this is what I found. I mean I told him it looked fake, he didn't believe me."

"And you have such a honest face." Rory compliments her boyfriend.

Dean sighs, "He must not love me as much as you do."

Everleigh pulls a disturbed face at the other couple and according to Lane, they were thinking the same thing as Lane interrupts, "Okay, you two are officially sickening."

Everleigh chuckles at Lane as she walks away but just as her eyes darted back towards Blaze she noticed him glancing at Dean and Rory. More so on the Gilmore girl and exhales sharply. Her eyebrows knit together, staying silent.

"Everyone is accounted for, Taylor. Looks like this is an elaborate prank." The officer lady speaks, perking up Everleigh's attention.

"But it looks so real." Taylor admits waving his hands around the tape, "Where'd they get the police tape?"

    "Kids have their ways."

"Who'd be depraved enough to pull a stupid prank like this?!" Taylor scans the crowd until his vision settles on her, "You!"

    "What?" Everleigh's back straightens up.

"Was it you?" Taylor asks, pointing at her, "Did you go all the way out to scare the poor civilians?!"

"Before Halloween?" She places hand over her heart as she feels Blaze's eyes on her. She ignores, "I would never."

"This wouldn't be the first time, I have questioned you and your shenanigans." Taylor warns.

"Has anyone told you false accusing someone of the crime they did not commit is very wrong and horrible, " She pauses, realising the pun and chuckles, "No pun intended."

"If I find out you're behind this exact prank, there will be consequences, young lady." He waves a finger in her direction.

"Okie-dokie." She gives him two thumbs up, "Best of luck."

Taylor sighs melodramatically, turning to someone else who wasn't her and discussing the matter at hand.

And just so accidentally looking away, her eyes land on the person she was hoping to see. Jess, leaning against the lamp post with a book in hands, watching the scene from far away. Their eyes lock for that exact moment and she couldn't help but do a small wave in his direction, gleefully. She wasn't sure how long he stood there but she was glad he was here, witnessing the aftermath.

Jess lightly presses lips together, a small smile forming as he nods her way. Just right before walking away and little did she know, her boyfriend was watching their interaction closely.

━━━━━━━▼━━━━━━━

After Taylor dispersed the crowd, calling false alarm, Everleigh and Blaze told their goodbyes to Rory and Dean, leaving them alone once again. The two decided to spend the day at Blaze's with him and his family.

    By now Everleigh was fully awake and Taylor's accusation towards her last night's plans might have given her a boost of energy but not to Blaze. He was cautiously watching his girlfriend as she wraps her arm back around his. He couldn't help but to ask;

    "Did you do it?"

She looks up squinting, meeting his gaze, "What?"

    "The prank." He states, wary.

   "I don't kiss and tell."

He chuckles but it dies as soon as it comes, "Did you though?"

"See, I was more so surprised it wasn't Kirk running around, alerting everyone," She dodges the question, "Can you imagine? It would be hilarious."

He stops, sneaking his arm out of her grasp, only to stop Everyleigh in her tracks, confused, "Eve, I'm serious."

She pauses, a moment passes by but finally caves in with a roll of her eyes, "I may or may not have helped."

    "With Jess?" He asks, hesitantly.

    That surprises her, "How—"

"You two..." He sighs, "Sort of shared a moment."

Now it was her turn to laugh, "A moment?"

He avoids her stare, "Sort of like an inside joke but it wasn't a joke," He runs his hand through his hair, frustrated, "I don't know. — Like you two knew about it all along. "

She tilts her head, biting the inside of her cheek, knowing he was working himself up for nothing, "I noticed him last night when I went out and decided to fulfil his plan. I didn't think Taylor would go all his way out to call the police and firefighters. "

"So because you couldn't sleep, you decided a night stroll was a better idea?" He starts easing up at her honesty.

"...Yes." She smirks. "You have to admit, it was a pretty successful crime prank."

He laughs, "I am not giving Jess more ego boost."

"So you do think it was a good idea."

"Shut up." Blaze hangs an arm around her shoulders, pulling her closer to him and kisses the temple of her head.

    Everleigh giggles, "Make me."

━━━━━━━▼━━━━━━━

So there was some good news and bad news.

    Bad news:

    Taylor called a town meeting.

    Good news:

There were none. — But she was finally attending one of those lame town meetings. So that counts.

She was just too caught up in the conversation with Blaze that she didn't notice Taylor trying to get everyone's attention. They weren't the only ones to not notice as the others continue to mumble with others next to them. But then Taylor strikes a gavel against the wooden sound block finally drawing everyone's attention. And the murmurs die down right away..

"I know this emergency meeting was called the last minute," Taylor announces, standing tall in front of everyone, "But we have a serious matter on our hands."

"Which is?" Someone shouts in a row.

"I think we all by now know about Luke's delinquent nephew right about now." Everleigh's back straightens, "Ever since his arrival, we have dealt with numerous things he has been involved with and the latest stunt crossed the line. He deliberately messed with my business and wasted not just your time but police and firefighters time. We all know how important their job is and false calls is something we do not support in this community."

    The girl scoffs, "He's insane."

"Also goes by the name of Taylor Doose." Blaze adds. Everleigh starts biting her nails, bouncing leg up and down as Taylor continues rambling on about Jess. Her boyfriend picks up on it instantly and warns, "Don't."

    "I have to."

    "He's not your responsibility."

That makes her look at him, "No he's not but he is my friend."

"We need to do something about —" Taylor's words get cut short with the teen interrupting.

"You sound insane." She stands up.

"Excuse me?!" Taylor stares at her bewildered.

"Eve, stop." Blaze whispers. She ignores.

"You all sound and act insane." She looks around, addressing everyone, "He is just a high school teenager. A seventeen year old. Just like me. Just like Blaze and probably half of your kids that are in high school or soon to be seventeen."

"You interrupted the importance of the issue." Taylor says, "Is there a point to all this?"

"You are judging someone who could easily pass as your grandchild, you know someone who is not an adult yet. Look it up, it's in the dictionary."

"Eve." Blaze whispers again. She ignores. Again.

"Before his arrival, we all lived in peace."

She glares at Taylor, "You mean before his arrival, you all loved to ignore your own kids rebellious acts. Jess just doesn't care whether people notice. "

"Our community had a very low rate of hooliganism. Maybe one or two a year." Taylor states, lifting an index finger up.

"Please," She laughs dryly, "Half of the high schoolers here smoke dope at least." The gathered people gasp, "But I mean you already knew that considering you got a very low rate of any illegal activities in Stars Hollow."

"There is no such thing as smoking dope in this town." People nod, agreeing with Taylor, "One of us would have at least been informed of such crime by now."

"Sure, you would," She crosses arms, "I can name a few right about now, offend a few parents here but we all know snitches end up in ditches."

"Everleigh Morgan," Taylor addresses her, "You are giving this town a bad name and I am not going to tolerate this type of behavior."

"Then don't." She squeezes past her boyfriend, out of the row they were sitting, "I am leaving anyways. Don't sweat it."

And with that she walks away, letting the crowd erupt in loud murmurs. Blaze closes his eyes, running hands down his face before standing up, chasing after the girl.

━━━━━━━▼━━━━━━━

Storming off, away from Patty's studio, holding the town meeting, she was ready to create ten crime pranks right about now. Just to spite Taylor.

"Eve." Her boyfriend calls out, she continues walking, "Stop."

She spins around, making both of them stop, "What?"

"What do you mean 'what?" Blaze says, "You ran off after causing a scene."

"So?" She shrugs, "They are conspiring against a kid our age. That idea doesn't sit well with me. They are a bunch of old folks getting offended by acts of a teenager."

"I get that it's wrong and weird calling a town meeting over someone our age but this is our new home. You can't do stuff like this. What if they call a meeting against you?"

She waves a hand around, "So let them. All Taylor can do is throw a hissy fit. I don't care. "

    "Is it because of Jess?"

Everleigh pauses, pondering over the question until she exhales heavily, "I don't know."

"You don't know?" Blaze questions, inhaling sharply. Not really looking forward to her reply.

He knew Everleigh liked the idea of trouble, after all the two grew up together in Chicago. They both have got in trouble before, some bigger than others but since moving to Stars Hollow he didn't exactly want that life no more. With Jess's arrival, however, it only felt like she was getting comfortable with the idea of not being the only one to mess around. Knowing she wasn't the only one.

"No. I don't. I haven't defended anyone in front of so many people." She rubs her forehead, "Can we just drop it and go home?" He opens his mouth to argue but she pleads as she holds out her hand for him to take, "Please?"

He sighs looking down as he walks towards his girlfriend, taking her hand into his, "Fine. I'll take you home."

    "Thank you."

im sorry for a very delayed update, ive been really struggling with my mental health for the past few weeks so i had no motivation to write and i struggled writing this one but i pulled through.

( the episode is divided in two, so it carries on in the next chapter. i also wanted to discuss some things that ive seen put in the comments on my story; )

1) i get that most of you don't like blaze, which is the whole point and im glad he is coming off as dislikable so i guess im doing so semi-good job portraying him (shout out to dawson leery) like that but also some of you calling out everleigh for going back to the person she loves and holding that against her but staying quite about blaze is not cool.

if none of you have been in a relationship or in love or any sort of stuff like that just know when you love someone you don't exactly see how toxic the relationship can be. either from your point of view or your significant other's point of view and sometimes you go back to the person that broke your heart simply because you love them and it hurts less when you do so. i've been in a situation like that before, it really sucks but you live and you learn.

giving second chances in most cases is not a bad thing. second chances give you an opportunity to see whether a person has changed or not. whether it's a friendship or a relationship. all of us have been there. people have given me a second chance and i have given them a second chance. sometimes it works out fine and sometimes you learn your lesson.

2) also for anyone that wants to know, you can simply not like a person without any reasons. your energy clashes with their own and that's the way it is. a girl can not like another girl without giving a reason. it's always the way you react to it. if you go your way out to make the girl feel miserable you're just a horrible being, if you carry on with your day not bothering the person that's absolutely fine and the right move.

i dont like certain girls but i dont bully them or talk about them 24/7, if they are nice towards me, i'll be nice back. with that said everyleigh and rory don't like each other because they clash and upcoming issues will push them apart even more. are they calling each other names? no. are they making each other cry? no. are they making each other question their worth? no.

some of you keep forgetting i'm writing this story all the way to the end with no seasons skipping. everyone involved with everyleigh have a development, rory's and everyleigh's dynamic is my favourite and i cant wait till you all see where they will be by the time the revival comes around.

3) if you have nothing nice to say, don't say it at all. :) some of you here only talk bad about everleigh and stay silent throughout the rest.
