"Are you Jinyoung's soulmate?"
"How long have you known Got7?"
"Do you have any relation to Stray Kids?"
"Any comments on this whole situation?"
"Hey Jae, good morning!" Felix's bright voice rings throughout the living room.
Jae quickly clicks out of her Instagram account and turns off her phone. She places it facedown on the table in front of her and walks over to Felix.
"Morning." she smiles taking a seat on the kitchen table as Felix pours himself a cup of orange juice. "Or afternoon actually." she adds looking at the clock hanging in their kitchen.
"Yeah, when we get home late from the studio we usually just sleep in the next day." Felix explains. "You still not used to the time difference?"
She sighs as Felix slides her a cup of water.
"Sorta, i've just had a lot on my mind. I couldn't sleep so I was just waiting until an appropriate time to get up." she admits. After seeing the concerned look Felix had, she merely shrugged it off.
"If you wanna switch rooms you can always tell us." he reminds her.
Taking a seat across the table Felix and Jae sip on their drinks as the distant sounds of the rest of Stray Kids getting ready are heard in the background.
"I'm fine with the couch, really." Jae assures him.
"Are you worried about the whole Jinyoung thing?" Felix asks with pitying eyes. "I'm sure as long as you and him aren't publicly spotted together it'll all blow over."
Jae sighs thinking back to the millions of notifications shes already gotten. Fans have already found her Twitter and Instagram, even her TikTok and Discord were leaked. Any ounce of privacy she had left was being taken away.
"They found all of my social media's." she tells Felix in a small voice.
Felix sighs already having a hunch about what happened. He's experienced it, all the boys have, but they knew what they were getting into, Jae didn't. She did nothing but be friends with an idol.
Jae puts up a tired smile to try and fool Felix into thinking she was alright, but the emptiness behind her eyes tells a whole different story.
"I'm sorry." Felix reaches across the table taking her hands into his. "You deserve to only hear lovely things, I hope that's all you will hear in the future."
His bright smile melts away any coldness that might've been in Jae's heart from the hate. A smile wouldn't fix everything about this situation, but it did help.
"Oi Felix!" Chan yells rushing into the kitchen. (ik that meme is soooo overused but it seemed so perfect here:x) "What are you guys doing?" he asks in a casual tone taking a seat next to Felix.
The two disconnect hands as Chan sits down.
"Talking about people finding my TikTok account." Jae tries to joke to lighten up the situation.
"They found your social media's?" Chan asks in a slightly more serious tone.
"It was bound to happen." Jae tries to shrug it off. "At least everyone knows I have nothing to hide. They've seen it all."
Her statement sent chills down the boys' spine. Her public image was put out into the world for people to peer into, even her personal image was on display in the Stray Kids' dorm now.
Her life changed completely in such a short amount of time.
"We'll make sure you get protected by JYP." Chan promises the girl. "We can't fix everything, but we swear we'll do our best to keep you safe."
The two make eye contact, for a second they felt all the calm in the world. All the anxiousness and unknown of the future was long from their minds. Hope was the burning feeling in their chests.
"Thank you." Jae bows quickly breaks eye contact trying to calm her heavy heartbeats. "I should probably go get ready to meet Mark at JYP." she quickly scurries out of the kitchen.
Chan sits back in his seat holding on to his chest.
"Are you okay hyung?" Felix asks as Chan's face winces in pain.
He wasn't sure if it was physical pain, or emotional pain for Chan; either way he was worried.
"Soulmate pulls." he grimaces. "I thought they would stop once she was here. Looks like they're just getting worse."
"But you're literally in front of her?" Felix asks confused.
Soulmate pulls don't happen once soulmates find each other. Why is it happening now? The two are in the same room, face to face even.
"She doesn't know i'm her soulmate, she's trying to pull away from the connection." Chan sighs. "She's trying not to hurt her soulmate, but she's hurting her soulmate by not trying to hurt her soulmate which is hurting her soulmate."
"That would be a sick pre-chorus." Jisung comments walking into the kitchen and grabbing a clementine.
The two stare at each other for a brief moment as Jisung offers a piece of his clementine with a worried smile.
It took all of Felix's strength as well as a passing Hyunjin to keep Chan from absolutely beating the living hell out of Jisung while a laughing Minho watched from a distance.
"Who are we rooting for?" Jae asks seeing the scene play out while exiting the bathroom. She stands next to Minho, trying to air dry the rest of her damp hair as best as possible.
"We can't be 3racha with only 2 people, so I doubt any of them will win." Changbin comments taking a seat in the living room. "Unless your boyfriend really messed up this time."
"I wouldn't be surprised if he did." Minho shrugs and takes a seat next to Changbin turning on the tv to a random variety show.
"Boys." Jae scoffs and brushes them off as she sits on the floor next to her luggage putting away her dirty clothes and toiletries.
"Jae, you'll get sick if you don't dry your hair." Seungmin worriedly remarks appearing over her shoulder.
"I didn't bring a hair dryer." she pouts. "Don't worry, i'll bundle up so I won't get sick."
She slips on a familiar hoodie, as the fight progresses to the living room.
Chan was still chasing after Jisung who had his face full of clementines. Hyunjin and Felix were following after, trying to catch their breath from holding back Chan for so long.
Jae was preoccupied with neatly arranging her luggage that she didn't notice the fight had stopped until the room grew silent.
She peeked her head up to see the boys staring at her.
"Okay fine i'll go dry my hair." she closes the luggage. "I didn't think it was that big of a deal." she murmurs standing up.
"Who's hoodie is that?" Minho asks with a knowing smile.
Jae fiddles with the long arms of the oversized hoodie that practically engulfed her.
"It's my soulmate's, why?"
"Uh- it just, it looks good." Chan stutters with a growing smile on his face.
"You guys are so weird today." she laughs walking past all of them into the bathroom.
Chan stood there, goofy smiled with no trace of anger as if it had dissipated into the air upon seeing her. The boys of the boys rolled their eyes or fake gagged at the boy in love ( ;) ) who was in another dimension now.
Fully ignoring the dazed Chan, they go about their day as a still-sleepy Jeongin waltzes into the room.
"What'd I miss?"
