I wake up on the bed and it got darker outside. I walk to the living room and it's my family and tom.
"hey guys whats going on out here?"
I go and sit next to tom on the couch.
"oh well happy to see you finally woke up, you feeling better?"
My mother asks me.
"Yes,I just needed to clear my mind. Tom have you heard anything from your parents?"
He looks uncomfortable.
"Uh no, I'll just give them some time maybe have a talk with you later about it..."
he continues to look at me and show 'that' kind of face.
"Speak of later we should really get back to the hotel I'm sure you want to sleep."
My parents stand up and Miley follows.
"I suppose! Well Merry Christmas Eve be careful on the roads and see you tomorrow morning."
I give them small hugs as they walk out. After they leave Tom gives me a sad look and starts to talk,
"Claire, I—-I got a text from my mother...."
he takes a deep breath in.
"They went straight to the airport and bought plane tickets to go see other family in Ontario. My dad said he felt bad for not telling me they were leaving, but my mom wouldn't let him even tie his shoes."
I take in the information and all I think is that this is my family and they hate me.
I don't say a word to Tom I just grab a drink of water and go to sleep. Tom must see my fear in my eyes for he doesn't say anything else to me other than
"goodnight, I love you."
Followed by a kiss on the back of my head.
