At the cabin...
Meredith's POV:
Everyone is gathering at the cabin for thanksgiving and Christmas! We decided to not buy or rent a cabin seeing we would fight over who's it was and who would stay there. Everyone who is wanting to stay ahead to pay for the night. Mark,the kids, Lexie, Cristina, Derek, some other f Derek's family, and me are staying. Richard, Catherine, Jackson, April, Alex, Thatcher, Susan, Molly and other family and family friends will drive over to spend the day with us.
"How do you like the cabin kids?" I ask
"It's SO big!" They both respond
"That's because there's gonna be a lot of people here." Mark said
"Like who?" Lucas asked
"Well all of your uncles and aunts and grandparents from my side are coming and all of daddies sisters and mother and siblings kids are coming to meet you!"
"Like daddy Derek's side?" Amelie asked
"Yeah!" I said
"Ok!" Amelie said
We walk to our room "This is where we are staying." I say showing the kids our room which contains one master for Mark and I and a kids room that had twin beds.
"Cool!" Lucas said
"Daddies family should be on there way and be here soon so you guys need to rest because once they come your gonna want to play with everyone." I say
"Ok!" Lucas said
"You ok?" Mark asks me as we are leaving the room.
"Kinda just nervous to meet Derek's family and what they'll think of me." I say
"They will love you. I have met them, they are practically my family!" Mark says
"Ok" I say
"They should be here in an hour or so, you should have time to calm down." Mark says
*a little later*
"Derek!" A strange and unfamiliar voice called
"Ma!" I hear Derek say. I walk out and see Derek hugging an older woman who stood in front of a large group of people which I assume is the rest of his family.
"Derbear!" I hear multiple people say
"Mark!" I hear the old woman say
"Ma." Mark says
"And you must be Meredith." The woman says
"I am." I say
"It's a pleasure to meet you. You are the only woman to have secured the one and only Mark Sloan." She says
"It's a pleasure to meet you as well." I giggle
"Mama!" Lucas says
"Hey Luke! Where is your sister?" I ask
"Ame is upstairs." Luke says
"Can you go get her so you guys can come back and say hi to everyone?" I ask
"Ok mommy!" Lucas says then runs off
"So are they Derek's?" Carolyn asks
"They are Derek's." I say
"So I have new old grandkids?" She asks
"Yes they just turned three. They are twins!" I respond
"We are back!" Lucas says
"Ok Luke, Amelie this is you grandmother Carolyn daddies mom!" I say to them both
"Nice to meet you!" Carolyn says
"Nice to meet you too." They both say trying to hide behind my legs
"This is Meredith Mark's wife, Lucas, and Amelie our kids!" Derek says
"Wife to Mark?!" Kathleen one of Derek's sisters asked
"Yep!" Mark said hugging me
"Wow I did not think that was possible!" Nancy said
"A lot of people thought the same." I said
"Amelie and Lucas right?" They asked
"Yes. They also go by ame and Luke." I said
"We are your aunts" the three women said
"We have more aunts?" Amelie asked Mark
"Yes bear you have more aunts that are on daddies side not mommies." Mark said
"Bear?" Nancy asked
"It's what I've called her since she was in the womb." Mark said
"Cute." Someone said
"How old are they?" Someone asks
"They are both 3, Lucas was born first." I say
"Oh! 'Other aunts?'" Someone asks
"My friends and family." I say
"And your parents?" Carolyn asks
"Mother passed away and father is working on our relationship but sees the twins. He has two other daughters, Molly and Lexie. They are all coming with his wife Susan for the holidays." I say
"Oh I'm sorry dear." Carolyn said
"Don't be I'm okay." I say
"She's my warrior queen" Mark says which I just giggle at.
"Dang you changed Mark!" Lizzie said
"She didn't change me she helped and saved me." Mark said
"To sweet." I said to m"Mark.
I could tell by the looks on everyone's face they had never seen this side of Mark. My thoughts were interrupted by my phone ringing.
"Hello?" I said
"Hey mer!"
"Lexie!" I said
"Yeah. I'm heading over now and mom and dad are with Molly who are ridding over a little after me. Cristina and everyone said they would ride over late to get here in the morning. Richard said he would drive over int he morning to." She said
"Ok thanks. Be safe and see you soon. Love you!" I said. Mark looked at me
"Lexie, Thatcher, Susan, and Molly are heading over. Cristina and the rest of them will come late to be here early in the morning and Richard is coming tomorrow morning in time for dinner." I said. Everyone looked at Mark.
"Meredith's sisters and father and stepmother are heading over now. Her friends are coming tonight. And I guess surrogate father is coming tomorrow." He said
"Oh ok!" Amelia Derek's youngest sister said.
We showed everyone to their rooms and around the cabin then we all went to the living room and played with the kids and talked.
"So Meredith when did you and Mark meet?" Lizzie asked
"Um I was starting as an intern at the hospital and Mark came up and hit on me in the hospital. Later on we became close friends and then we both moved out of Seattle." I said
"Why did you move?" Amelia asked
"Um personal reasons?" Mark said
"No they deserve to know the truth." Derek said.
"Let me go out the kids to nap really quick." I said since they didn't know what happened.
"Um where to start...ok I was dating Meredith at the time and she was going through drowning and her mother dying and I kissed another woman...we broke up Mark and Meredith had a one night stand because Meredith was drunk then Meredith started to feel sick at work. We found out she was pregnant. I couldn't have a relationship with the twins if I wanted to stay with Rose so I told them and they moved so it would be easier for all of us. They came back when the twins were two turning three and I have been starting to get a relationship with them for a few day maybe a week now." Derek said
DEREK CHRISTOPHER SHEPHERD!" Carolyn yelled
"IknowIknow" Derek said
"In his defense Rose is a gorgeous and sweet woman" I said trying to help
"Meredith you are an angel!" Carolyn and some of Derek's sisters said
"No she's not" Mark said with a smirk
"MARK EVERETT SLOAN!" I yelled "if you don't stop you know what happens" I said
"What happens?" Lizzie asked confused
"Nothin-" Mark cut me off
"No sex for two weeks." Mark said
"Mark!" I yelled
"Well that sucks." Amelia asked
"Don't I know it." Mark said
"Anyway... is Rose coming Derek?" I ask trying to steer the conversation another way.
"She might." Derek said
"Why weren't we invited to the wedding?" Amelia asked
"I don't know" i said "as Mark."
"Meredith..." Mark whispered in a 'don't leave me alone here' tone.
"So why?" Carolyn asked
"Um...Meredith hadn't met you yet...and Derek and I weren't in the best place?" Mark said
"Not a reason to not invite us." Carolyn said
"Sucker." I whisper
"You guys are like kids." Amelia said
"We really are!" Mark said
"Are not!" I defend
"We so are mer." Mark says
"'Mer?'" Someone questioned
"Mer-edith" Derek said
"Oh!"
*doorbell rang*
"It's probably Lexie." I said getting up and opening the door.
"Mer!" Lexie said hugging me
"Lex!" I said "This is Derek's family Carolyn, Lizzie, Kathleen, Nancy, and Amelia! Everyone this is my sister Lexie." I said introducing everyone.
"Hello!" Lexie said
"Nice to meet you I'm Derek's mother." Carolyn said
"Oh nice to meet you to!" Lexie said
"Auntie Lex!" Amelie said
"Ame! Luke! I missed you guys!" Lexie said kneeling down to hug them.
"We were gone for only a day." Lucas said laughing
"It's too long!" Lexie said
"We were gone longer before we moved." Amelie said
"Yeah before you moved. Before I started seeing you at home and before mommy and daddy went to work!" Lexie said
"The twins are really good at talking!" Amelia said
"Yeah we really don't know how that happened." I said giggling a bit.
"You did good raising them and you are doing great." Derek said
"Thank you." I said
"So how did you find out about Lexie?" Lizzie asked me
"Well she was an intern at the hospital and my best friend was her resident and apparently her and Derek had met at the bar before!" I said laughing
"Dang Derek seems like your ex was famous" Nancy said
"She is. Meredith means a lot to many people." Derek said
"Yeah she does. Even though she doesn't know it." Lexie said
"Everyone knows her. Sometimes because of her mother and others because of her work and sometimes because of the Chief." Mark said
"Why all those things?" Lizzie asked
"Um well I'm one of the top residents. The Chief and my mom had an affair and my mother is Ellis Grey." I said
"Wait! THE Ellis Grey!?" Amelia asked
"The one and only." I said
"Wow your so lucky!" Amelia said
"Not really." Mark whispered but Carolyn heard.
" 'not really' why?" Carolyn asked
"Meredith you don't have to talk about it." Mark said
"Yeah mer its ok if you don't." Derek said
"Why not?" Kathleen asked
"Hard subject" Lexie whispered
"No it's fine. Well my father left when I was 5 because of my mother's affair and apparently he also had an affair or something then Molly came or something...my mother was never home so she didn't raise me. I had nannies until I was old enough to stay home by myself. I wasn't allowed to have boyfriends or friends because she said they were distractions so yeah. Then I went to college but before I left my mother alone to backpack in Europe against her wishes. Then I went to party at college. She constantly said I was ordinary, unwanted, unloved, a waste of air and space, and useless. Then I found out she had early onset Alzheimer's so she forgot me entirely besides the fact that she hated her child. She died then I met my father and Richard, the Chief, and drama and finding out more secrets. So yeah." I said. Derek's family was shocked and left surprised.
"I'm so sorry for asking Meredith." Carolyn said
"Don't be. Me having a messed up childhood lead me to meet with the best people and make many friends who had things in common. I am now part of the dark and twisty club!" I said
"It's what her and her friend Cristina call themselves." Mark said "she says that when she's sad or mad or sometimes in general."
"I'm bright and shiny now actually well ever since I met Mark and we had the twins!"
"Bright and shiny= happy, excited, etc." Mark said
"You can read her like a book!" Amelia said
"I sure can." Mark said kissing my head
"I'm happy that you met each other!" Carolyn said
"We are too." Mark said
*door bell rings*
"That's probably dad and them. I'll be back." Lexie said going to get the door.
"Hi!" I said getting up greeting them.
"Meredith!" Susan said
"Grandma and grandpa!" Lucas said
"Hey little munchkins!" Thatcher and Susan said.
"Molly and little Laura!" Lexie and I said. After the wedding Molly and I got closer
"Meredith! Lexie! Mark!" Molly said hugging us.
"Molly!" Mark said hugging us
"Ok so this is Derek's family Carolyn and his four sisters Nancy, Kathleen, Lizzie, and Amelia. Ok now you guys. Everyone this is my family my father and step mother, Thatcher and Susan. Then Molly and Laura. Molly is my half sister and Laura is her daughter!" I said
Everyone greeted one another and we went about the rest of our day.
"Meredith dear who all is coming tomorrow?" Susan and Carolyn asked me.
"Oh I'm pretty sure it's Richard, Jackson, Alex, Cristina, and Catherine! So tomorrow there should be 16 adults, 17 if Rose comes, plus all the kids." I said
"Ok thank you!" Carolyn said
"Your welcome." I said
"Lexie can I talk to you real quick?" I said
"Yeah sure?" Lexie said. I piled her aside
"What's up mer are you okay?" She asks
"Yeah um I need your help." I said
"What? Why?" She asked
"Wait we need molly!" I said
"Ok I'll be right back!" Lexie said. She brought molly back.
"What's going on?" Molly asked
"I'm pregnant!" I said
"What!?" Lexie said
"Congratulations!" Molly said
"Shhh don't be to loud!" I said
"Mark doesn't know does he." Lexie said
"No! That's what I need help with! I don't know how to tell him!" I said
"Ohhhh. Ok!" Molly said
"Okay thank you!"
*next day*
"Wake upppppp!" Amelie said
"I'm up. Im up!" I said still half asleep but sitting up on the bed.
"Me too!" Mark said trying to sit up.
"Let's go wake everyone up!" Lucas said. Then the twins ran and woke the rest of the people who were alseep up. I walk into the hall and see a sleepy Derek, Lizzie, Molly, and Lexie.
"Haha they woke up you guys?" I ask
"Yep." They say
Then I see Lucas, Amelie, and Laura running around.
"Be careful please!" I say to them.
"Is everyone else up?" Mark asks
"I think so. I heard people getting up earlier." Lizzie said
"Same." Lexie said
"Well happy thanksgiving!" I said
"Happy thanksgiving." They all say in a tired tone. We walk down stairs and are greeting by everyone else.
"Finally everyone else is awake!" Nancy says
"Half awake." I say. Mark sits down so I sit down on his lap and hug him.
"Hey no going back to sleep!" Mark says
"I stayed up to late!" I said
"Yeah we heard!" Lexie said
"We didn't do that!!" I said
"Sure you didn't" Molly said
"I give up with you guys!" I say then go back to hugging Mark.
"What are you talking about?" Carolyn asked walking in the room with Susan and Thatcher.
"We are talking about Mer and Mark staying up late last night." Lizzie said
"What?!" Susan said
"It's something couples do dear." Thatcher said
"We didn't do anything!" I said
"We heard you!" Lexie said
"Then I don't know what you heard! We didn't go that far last night!" I said
"So you did go somewhere?" Molly said with a smirk.
"We did stuff just not the stuff you are thinking about!" I said
"Mark?" Carolyn said
"We didn't do ANYTHING." Mark said trying not to smile.
"Mark gave it away!" Lexie said
"Mark!" I said hitting him.
*doorbell rings*
"I'm going to get that!" I said walking away
"Hello!" Richard said
"Hi come on in!" I said
"Sorry we are late." Cristina said walking in with Alex
"You okay? You were supposed to be here last night." I asked
"Yeah we just got caught up at the hospital so we decided to follow Webber." Alex responded
"Ok."
"Ok this is Carolyn Derek's mother and his four sisters Amelia, Lizzie, Nancy, and Kathleen. This is Richard, Catherine, Jackson, Alex, and Cristina!" I said
*doorbell rings again*
"I don't know who that is?" I say
"Hello." They said
"Rose!" I said giving her a hug
"Oh ok!" Rose said then returned the hug
"You okay" I ask
"Yeah I just didn't expect a hug. I kissed your ex and all that other stuff." She said
"Rose I don't hate you. I've been that girl and I hated the way I was treated. Derek and I are friends so that makes you and I friends and it's thanksgiving so I can't be angry even if I was." I said
"Thank you." Rose said
"No problem. Derek is in the living room with everyone." I said
"Rose?!" Derek said
"Hey babe! I wanted to surprise you." She said
"I'm glad you did. Everyone this is Rose my girlfriend. Rose this is my mother Carolyn, Lizzie, Kathleen, Amelia, and Nancy!" Derek said.
Everyone talked to each other and got to know everyone. Susan and Carolyn left to cook the dinner.
"Dinner is ready!" Carolyn and Susan said
"Come on kids!" Mark said to the twins and Laura. We all sat down and went around saying what we are thankful for. Then it came to Mark.
"I am thankful for my beautiful wife, this family and group of friends and especially the twins!" He said
"I am thankful for my handsome husband,kids, family, and I am thankful for everyone who has helped me ven though they may not know it." I said. When it came to the twins they both said.
"We are thankful for strawberry ice cream!" Everyone laughed
"They get that for Meredith! Strawberry ice cream is her favorite." Mark said. We continued to go around then I came to Derek. He stood up and grabbed Rose's hand.
"I am thankful for the twins and my family and I am also thankful for this beautiful woman next to me. She has turned my work and I love and adore her so much." He then got on one knee.
"Oh my god!" Rose said
"Rose will you marry me?" Derek asked
"Of course I will!" Rose said jumping to hug him. Everyone clapped and cheered.
"Congrats!" I said
"Way to got Derek!" Mark said
We all ate then went to the living room. Lexie and Molly suddenly pulled me off Mark and into the other room.
"What are you both doing!" I said
"Did you tell him?" Molly said
"Who?" I said
"Mark!" Lexie yelled
"About what? The baby?!" I questioned them
"Yeah of course what else?" Molly said
"No Derek just proposed!" I said
"And?!" Molly said
"AND that doesn't mean anything! Tell him." Lexie responded
"Fine I will! Jeez!" I say. We walk back into the living room.
"What was that about?" Mark asked me.
"Nothing. I need to talk to you." I said
"Ok. Are you okay?" Mark asked me
"Yes I'm okay." I say pulling him into our room
"Sit down." I say pointing at the bed. He listens.
"I need to tell you something." I say getting nervous.
"What's going on?" He asks
"I'm pregnant." I said
"What!?" He said
"I said I'm pregnant you idiot!" I say
"I know I heard." He said
"Then why did you-" he interrupted me with a kiss.
"We are having a baby?!" He asked me
"We are having a baby!" I said
*meanwhile downstairs*
"What are they doing?" Carolyn asks
"Getting good news." Lexie said
"What!?" They hear Mark say
"Must be GREAT news." Derek says
"Believe me it is!" Molly says
Mark runs out jumping.
"What happened?" Carolyn asks
*back to Meredith*
"Meredith is pregnant!" I hear Mark say. I walk out and he immediately comes in picks me up.
"Mark!" I say laughing. We get back downstairs.
"Your pregnant?!" Carolyn asked
"Yep!" I say
"Congrats!" Susan said
"Thank you!" I say
"Another grandchild?" Thatcher and Richard asked.
"Another grandchild." I said to the both of them.
"Congrats Mer!" Alex says
"Yeah you are already a great mother!" Cristina said
"Thank you both I love you guys so much!" I said hugging them.
"So this means you guys are going that far tonight?" Carolyn said with a smirk.
"That means we are going that far!" Mark says hugging me from behind.
"Mark!" I say smacking his arm.
"What! aren't we?" He asks
"I already am giving you something!" I say meaning the baby "But yes we are but your not supposed to tell everyone about that!" I say
"Well how are they supposed to be warned?" He asks
"You idiot." I say giggling
"You love this idiot!" Mark says
"I do love this idiot." I say kissing Mark.
"So does anyone have ear plugs for tonight?" Lexie asks making everyone laugh.
"We aren't that loud!" I say
"Yea you guys are!" Molly says
"Last time we were at the house to pick something up real quick all we heard was 'Meredith' 'ahhh' 'fas-" Mark and I cut them off.
"I remember that night!" Mark said
"All of you better shut up! I will buy you ear plugs. And you had to do that in front of everyone!?" I say
"Enjoy it now because being parent to three you might now have time later." Carolyn said.
"Meredith we all do it. I mean thatcher-"
"See no we aren't talking about this. It's to weird." I say
"It's not weird. Me and Catherine-"
"Nope not again. Meredith is right. You all are our parents and talking about sex with you all is kinda disturbing. And not to mention my niece and nephew are here." Jackson says. After a moment of seeing the twins shocked faces they say.
"We are having a little brother or sister!" Amelie says
"Yes bear that is correct!" Mark says
"I'm gonna have a little brother!" Lucas asked
"You MIGHT have a little brother." I say
We all talk about Derek and Rose's engagement and the new baby in the living room. Then we all decided to go to bed.
