Thomas' P.O.V. :
Runninng, one person is running in the woods. The image changes to something else this happens again and again with some fade voices in the backround. They become clearer.
"You are safe Thomas."
"Wicked is good Thomas"
"What's out there?" I heard my voice.
The images were still changing rapidly. I hear a female voice calling oyt for me and my mind stops at the image of me and a girl talking and the images start changing again from a lab to the maze to some unfamiliar faces. I can still hear some voices in the distance but I am not able to underestand what they are saying.
"Everything is going to change " I hear a woman saying as I force my self wide awake.
(Y/N)'s P.O.V.:
The sun has risen once again. I was woken up by Jeff who had come to make sure that I wouldn't be late once again. I must add that after a while I finally had a great time sleeping. No weird nightmares or dreams that made my head hurt in the mornings, I didn't feel tired and I was in a good mood for once. WAS because the moment I got up I felt it! This day was one of THESE days.
"Oh come on, Really now? Now! Ugh" I complained well...to my body I guess. Jeff looked at me worried about my mental health.
"You okay...?" He asked. I nodded embarassed with what I just had done.
"Yes everything is fine, now do you mind...?"
"Oh yes!" He getting the sign. "Well I'll be waiting for you at the medbay don't fall again to sleep just like last time." He warned-teased me. I chuckled and he left. The moment he did I jumped up grabbed the bag with the women's necessities (if you get me) and headded to my personal bathroom-one of the advantages of being a girl. I put on the pad and got dressed quickly.
"Stupid period" I mummbled and went off to meet Jeff in the med-jacks.
Small Timeskip:
Nothing intersting happened today either ,apart from some minor injuries, to make the day end faster. I looked out the window in the hope that I would see something, anything that would be even slightly interesting. In the distance I spotted Newt and Thomas talking.
' He is probably teaching him the job. He actually looks nice when he is working'
I thought to myself.
"You looking at something good?" Jeff that had been standing next for me for a while asked me.
"WAAAH! What oh uh no...I um was just thinking..." I said akwardly.
" What were you thinking about though? How good his abs look under the sun?" He said and smirked.
"Wha- how he is wearing a shirt Jeff!" I said looking at him confused.
"Oh so you were looking at him to know that at least." He said and I blushed from embarrassment that I had been caught.
"Just stop" I begged him, he laughed. "STOP! I wasn't!" he kept on laughing. I rolled my eyeballs took one last glance at Thomas and went to the other side of the hut hoping that I woyld not be able to hear his laughing at me. To my surprise it kinda worked. On the other hand though he kept on teasing me about it throughout the rest of the day.
Small Timeskip:
I was cleaning the medbay since it was almost time to eat and I wanted to leave the mendbay clean. You know peacefull stuff but then David entered. He looked shocked and it was obvious he was in a hurry he was probably running. He was looking around the room like crazy searching for something.
"How can I help?" I politely asked.
"Where is Jeff?" He asked ignoring my question. Jeff heard him and came out of a small room where he was storing some medicine.
"What happened?"Asked Jeff. David went closer and said something to his ear. Jeff's eyes widened. He grabbed a syringe of Benzodiazepine (a drug that basically tranquillises you) and followed David in a hurry.I stood there in an awe.
'What just happened?'
I thought trying to figure out what happened that I wasn't allowed to know and couldn't help with. A few minutes later Chuck and Thomas entered. Chuck led Thomas to the medical Bed for me to give him a check-up. Just by looking at them you could underestand they had something to do with what happened with David earlier. I had to ask.
"What happened?" I asked curious when I was finished treating him.
"Ben got stung by a Griever and he attacked Thomas."
"He did what?! How did this happen?!
"We don't know, Mihno said he wasn't bitten in the maze not while they were together at least"
What about Thomas, how did he find him?"
"Newt said he had sent him to bring some fertilizer he attacked him in the woods, he managed to escape him thanks to his running and wasn't bitten himself" Chuck said adding the last piece of the puzzle.
I looked over at Thomas. He was preety shocked himself and I bet he was trying to process everything. He probably had so many questions that no one would answer to.
'I know how that feels'
I thought.
"Why are you looking at him? Is he ok? Did he got stung?!" Chuck asked me obviously worried for his new friend.
"No don;t worry he wasn't bitten and apart from his small wounds I had to patch up nothing serious. Just a little shaken too.I assume no one explained to him did they?" I asked knowing the answer already.
"Alby will he always does." He answered but he was a pit ashamed to realize that Thomas didn't know a thing about why it happened and he was probably trying to figure out what he did wrong to get attacked. At least that's what I think he would do. I hated when Alby did that, make people wait to tell them the truth, it is indeed despicable but I have to accept it. I mean he must be doing something right for this place not to have fallen apart right? But I was still worried for Thomas. I would be so confused if it had happened to me I knew he felt the same, I had to do something. I went and sat next to him.
'Since I can't tell you what is going on I'll do that'
"I know you are confused right now but I swear you'll learn the truth in one way or another. I can't tell you since I'm not allowed to but I can tell you, you did nothing wrong. I promise you that." I said and gave him a comforting smile. He finally turned and faced me. He didn't say anything he just looked at me. I gave him a gentle pat on his back got up and left the med-jacks leaving him with Chuck. I was heading to the slammers to talk to Ben. I had to. Yes it was pretty irresponsible of me to leave the med-jacks but I had to talk with him, I didn't know why but this feeling I felt urged me to go to him. When I arrived I found him sitting on the ground curled in a ball. He was talking to himself like he had gone crazy. Ofcourse that wasn't enough to stop me.
"Are you okay?" I started with the basics.
"Y/N is that you?" He asked.
"Yeah...it's me"
"You should leave I'm dangerous"
"I'm not going anywhere. I know-no I trust you won't hurt me"
"GET OUT OF HERE!" He shouted at me.
"I can't leave you like that and you know it!" I fought back.
"I'll be thrown in the maze won't I?"He asked with a faint smile a sad one. I remained silent. That was my answer.
"Don't trust Thomas" He suddenly said.
"Why not?" I asked "Why do suddenly hate him so much?"
"I don't hate him!" He shouted again"Ugh you don't get it no one did, he is the reason we are here, the reason we are forced to leave inside these walls! He send us here!" He obviously wasn't himself so I didn't mind his tone. Yes it was aggresive but he still was my friend.
"Calm down Ben." I told him.
"I remembered, I remembered what he did to us" He said following my demand."I'm sorry fawn I don't know why I am acting like this, it's like I can't control myself anymore"
"It's fine." I assured him
"And trust me I don't want to hurt anyone"
"I know" I assured him once again.
"Are you scared of me?" He asked.
"No." I said my tone definite. He approached me as much as he could and I went closer to him too holding the bars that where between us. He took one of them and brought it to his cheek. His hand was cold and he was trembling as if he was scared of himself as if he was trying to control his body.
"I swear all I need is your smile and all my worries fade away" H said and kissed my hand. Only at that moment I unrestood the reason behind my behavior. I felt a warm sensation in my chest and I felt my heart beating faster and faster.
Promise me Y/N promise me you'll keep yourself safe. Promise me you'll stay way from Thomas, don't trust him." He pleaded.
"IT'S NOT FAIR!YOU ARE NOT FAIR!" I yelled "You know I might never see you again and yet you say all these now! NOW! And then you ask me to promise these things...you are such a jerk!" I started crying. I knew this was the last time I would see him.
"Promise me please" He said and caressed my hand with his. I didn't want to promise that but it was the only way he wouldn't worry about me.
"I promise" I said. He smiled with relief "Thank you" he said with a happier yet still sad tone"You better get going now, it's almost time to send me away. You'll get in trouble if they find you."
"I can't leave you" I said still crying my eyes out.
"Goodbye Fawn" He said and got away from my reach. I gelt my heart shattering into a illion pieces. I knew it was my cue to leave. I knew that id I didn't now I would never. I blocked all the thought out of my mind got up and started running. Running away from him. The only thought in my mind "run".
'Goodbye Ben'
I thought trying to remind to myself that it was over. Tears had filled my face and I felt my face getting colder from the air making contact with the wet parts of my face. I couldn't see clearly, I couldn't think clearly. I didn't want to go near anyone, I didn't want anyone to see me like this nor was I in the mood to explain to anyone why I was like this. I wanted to be alone. As I was running I spotted a tree thick enough to hide me. I sat at its roots prought my knees to my face and continued crying. A few minutes later I heard the doors of the maze shutting. It was then I realised it was really over. I was in pain. I looked around to find anything that could help me releave this feeling. I didn't find anything. Instead I released a grieving sreem. It was enough to stop that releaving need but not enough to stop my sadness, the pain in my chest and my tears running down my face. I started thinking about everything that had happened between us and thought of everything I could have done different, all the thinks I regreted.
'I regret not realising sooner how I felt, I regret not asking him about his feelings towards me, I regret letting him go in the maze today and most of all I regret giving him that stupid promise'
I thought.
And now I wonder what would I have said to him if I knew back then that this was one of the promises I was bound to break...

Aaah yes I'm bak at it again withanother chapter that I hope you enjoyed as much as I did. So I have to say I'm surprised at how many times I had to write "Happened" on this chapter lol.
