AI: "Thanks again for coming along with me today to visit my sister in the hospital."
AKI: "Not at all. I should be thanking you for bringing me along with you. I hope Misato didn't feel constrained with me there?"
AI: "She totally wasn't! If anything, she was happy you were there! Didn't you see that huge smile on her face that whole time?"
AKI: "I sure did. I'm so jealous you have someone in your life who's pretty much your actual big sister."
AI: "Heh heh! She's cheerful and sweet and definitely a big sister I'm proud to have!"
AKI: *Laugh* "And Misato said the same thing about you."
AI: "Huh? What do you mean?"
AKI: "That's what she said about you when you left the room. She said she's proud to have a cheerful and sweet little sister, and that she sees you as her actual little sister."
AI: "For real? Omigosh, that's totally making me blush."
AKI: "You're so cute when you're embarrassed, Ai."
AI: "Ughhh! C'mon! No teasing allowed!"
AKI: "Anyway, I didn't know you were an idol for everyone at the hospital as well."
AI; "What do you mean?"
AKI: "I mean, all the patients seemed to know you. I was shocked."
AI: "That's totally to be expected. I visit that hospital a lot."
AKI: "Still, you don't normally remember the average visitor. The old lady in the bed next to Misato said so herself. She said you're kind and light up the room when you visit."
She also mistook me for Ai's boyfriend, but enough about that.
AI: "It's not like I've done anything to deserve those nice compliments though. All I do is talk, talk, talk. Maybe she's mistaking me for someone else?"
AKI: "Nope, definitely you. The man in the bed from across Misato also said it becomes more lively when you're around.
He said he totally forgets that he's been hospitalized and that he's actually in a hospital room because it's so much fun when he chats to you.
I'm sure the other patients feel the same way. It's the same when you're out around town. A bunch of different people approach you, right?"
AI: "W-Well, I mean, yeah..."
AKI: "That's not just something anyone can do. I really think everyone around you breaks into smiles because of your presence."
AI: "Man, my stocks are going through the roof right now with all of your compliments, but seriously, I'm not doing anything special."
AKI: "And that's what makes you so amazing. You just naturally bring happiness to everyone. It's a really powerful skill to be able to create a fun atmosphere."
AI: "You think? I don't really see that myself. But I'm totally stoked if what you're saying is true!"
AKI: "I wouldn't lie to you. *Sigh* Still, what the Doctor said..."
AI: "I know. He said that Misato should be more careful, that she took a huge risk by going to the trial event to volunteer."
AKI: "And that she shouldn't volunteer for the School Idol Festival... Making up the numbers isn't an issue here, she was loyal and showed up to the first info session when hundreds of others didn't..."
AI: "She really wants to be a volunteer at the School Idol Festival. Misato said she's been told her whole life to stay away from fun things and events... She said that this is one that she CAN'T miss out on."
AKI: "Yet there is also the matter of her health. I wouldn't want to put her at risk."
AI: "I know, it's a double-edged sword. I guess I should tell you about Misato's condition."
AKI: "I don't want you to force yourself if you feel uncomfortable saying it."
AI: "No, I think you should know."
AKI: "Then my ears are here for you."
AI: "Misato was born with CVID. Common Variable Immunodeficiency. A primary immune system disorder which prevents the body from making the antibodies needed to fight off diseases, resulting in reinfections and high susceptibility to lung conditions."
AKI: "Oh shit..."
AI: "It's primary, so it's a genetic disease with no cure. All that she can do is receive treatment."
AKI: "And yet she's remained strong through it all. Your sister is a fighter, Ai. Someone who makes you proud."
AI: "Yeah, you're right. I am proud of my sister, I love her with all my heart!"
AKI: "We will all find a way to make her dreams to attend the School Idol Festival come true. The event isn't just about the dreams of school idols, but their fans and families too. If Misato wants to attend the festival, we will find a way for her to safely do that."
AI: "Prez, thank you so much..."
