When I had my heart broken for the very first time, it wasn't because of a boy. It was by a friend whom I trusted my whole life with.
And it was for the exact reason why people hurt and get hurt- she betrayed me for love.
I remember someone, a teacher, telling me something along these lines:
"I see your soft heart breaking through the tears in your eyes. You were wronged by someone you never thought would hurt you. You are entitled to feel hurt and angry, but you also deserve the chance to forget and start over. Just remember to never make the same mistakes again."
Her words were stuck in my brain like the scars I had in my heart. From then on, I became what I feared- what everyone feared. I became what broke me.
I became the epitome of pain, so that people could never touch me and my pieces ever again.
