TWENTY FOUR - Family Ties
Harlow opened the door to her house, doing what she called the walk of shame for being merely associated with Kluas a man who she may add had killed her aunt. it made her feel somewhat guilty every time she reminded herself of it. it was now starting to become apparent to Harlow how attached once again she was getting to the man.
Nothing happened that night, although she could basically smell the smugness coming from kluas every breath, he took. that morning though Harlow had to remind herself that she wasn't back in Chicago, it felt weird to wake up and be in the same house as kluas. who obviously was still on edge from not getting his siblings back and having to send away his army of oversized dogs as Harlow would call them.
with all the problems the two-faced, kluas was still trying to get into Harlows good books. waking her up to coffee and then being lectured about eating after she let it slip she would usually just stick to the coffees in the morning.
"Harlow" Elena put down the paper she was holding to look at her twin who walked though the door. "where were you?"
Harlow froze in her step giving her sister a pressed lip smile while walking over to the table where Daniel, bonnie and Elena all sat "three guesses," she uttered then frowning as she watched the three hard at work "what ya doing?" she questioned
"Trying to find bonnie's mum," Daniel explained while handing papers to Elena who looked over them before then hading them to bonnie, it was their system "we have got all the female Bennett's on paper." he continued
"are you ever going to leave?" Harlow muttered with sarcasm towards Daniel. she was acutely growing quietly accustomed to Daniel staying with her and if Harlow didn't have so much pride she would even say it was nice to have someone who understood her struggles as much a Daniel around.
"I'm a permanent resident now." he spoke, Harlow gave Daniel a weird look making him sigh placing down the papers looking up to Harlow " I'm staying because I'm in love with your sister. hell, call me a Salvatore." he deadpanned jokingly, receiving a glare from no other than Elena
bonnie then look up to the girl interrupting the two "hey Harlow?" she asked, making Harlow nod towards the girl to continue words "was kluas with you the whole time last night?"
that very sentence made Harlow have to swallow her embarrassment she wasn't expecting bonnie to be so upfront.
"pretty sure," Harlow spoke leaning onto the chair speaking as quietly as she could but loud enough for bonnie to hear her, "why?" she then questioned out of pure Curiosity
"no its nothing," bonnie shook her head while she went back to work looking "just something weird in a dream," she uttered turning her attention back to the papers
Harlow sighed now needing the change the conversation she looked to Daniel "hows your suit?" she asked Daniel who then pulled a face
"touchy subject," Daniel muttered as he handed the papers to bonnie and Elena one by one as the girl read them handing them on.
Harlow pushed out a chair to the table, sitting down next to the three "what about female, stabby, demigod?" she referenced, to the aires Demigod
"she has seemed to block the tracker somehow. I can't find her exact location." Daniels spoke still completely consumed in the paperwork as he never looked away from it while speaking to Harlow
"well shit," Harlow swore, as frustration filled her body "so we are just going to stay paranoid until she jumps out again and tries to kill one of us."
both Bonnies and Elena's eyes snap to Harlow after Daniels words "what?!" the two girls said in unison
"yep, the plan." Daniel pressed his lips together ignoring the two girls looks

"how'd it go?" Harlow asked not looking up from her laptop as she sat on her bed, she may had run away from the group after Daniel snitched on her. she had to get away from Elena in the fear that she may have to be lectured by goodie-two-shoes about not dying.
Daniel walked further into her room falling onto her bed "they think they found her, I've decided to take one for the team and babysit you."
"I think its the other way around, you did die at the party after ditching me," Harlow spoke in a know it all tone receiving at jab from Daniel
"what can I say, I'm on a streak of dying-" Daniel bragged but stopped speaking as Harlows phone went off making Harlow pick it up in an instant once she saw who it was "who is it?" Daniel snooped as he looked over harlows shoulder to the text
"Caroline she says she needs to get her mind off something." Harlow explained, giving Daniel a pleasing smile "wanna find out what?"
"yes, but if they crazy lady comes, im sacrificing you." Daniel deadpanned standing up from the bed
"don't be mean, she may a be a perfectly stable demigod to aries," Harlow explained not taking her eyes off her laptop as she was busy trying to finish her essay that is due soon for her school work .
"she ruined a sparkly suit." Daniel spoke, insulted "no-one in their right mind would do such a thing."
Harlow sighed shutting her laptop to look up at Daniel "you're being dramatic."
"im being perfectly rational," Daniel gave the girl an insulted look before grabbing on her wrist pulling her off the bed "but im hungry let's go and meet this Caroline."

Harlow smiled as she entered the diner followed by Daniel, he eyes searched for the blond finally spotting the girl sitting at one of the booths "Caroline!" she smiled at the blond as she walked closer to the table, sitting at the other side of the booth followed by Daniel
"Harlow," Caroline smiled at the girl before her eyes moved the person next to her "and who is this?" she nodded towards Daniel pulling a face Harlow couldn't quite make out
Daniel smiled at the girl before Harlow could introduce him or better for-warn Caroline. Daniel was once step ahead he had already held out his hand for Caroline to take, he then proceed to kiss it make Harlow roller eyes "Daniel, this is his strong approach he has no friends." Harlow spoke glaring at the smirking man "so what's the problem?" she then asked out of Curiosity
"no I shouldn't tell you." Caroline ran her finger through she heard, groaning "I mean your dating the man," she exclaimed while Harlow looked slightly offended
"I don't even have to guess to know who you're talking about," Harlow gave Caroline a bored look "and no not dating," she then added
Caroline let out a dramatic sigh looking down playing with her fingers as she spoke "well, my Dads come back and he thinks he can help Tyler,"
Harlow hit the girls shoulder "hey, your dad back..." Harlow smiled at the girl, Caroline and her father never had a really good relationship and it showed in her actions, Harlow then trialled off as she thought about Caroline's words "what's wrong with Tyler?" she asked
"your boyfriend has made Tyler his slave," Caroline spoke nonchalantly while rolling her eyes as she mentioned kluas "Tyler has to do everything he says."
Harlow sighed finishing her sentence understanding what she was implying "including going against you guys."
just because harlow may or may not have a tiny thing for kluas doesn't mean she condones any of his actions, which Harlow thinks she needs that statement tattooed on her head as kluas does many things that Harlow will never condone ect killing everything in sight is definitely not preferable for the girl
"bingo," Caroline clicked her fingers while giving Harlow a smile "so dad was 'all I can help him' and know Tyler in a cave shifting over and over again," she explained as she imitated her dads deep voice
"better than being poisoned," Daniel murmured while he covered his face with the menu reading what food was on offer
"Daniel!" Harlow hissed kicking the man under the table
"what." he hissed throwing down his menu on the table throwing up his arms at Harlow as if she had been personally attacked
the food had arrived and it had been little over half an hour since the three had been there and about ten minutes ago harlow had noticed a suspicious woman who seemed to be very interested in what harlow and Daniel were doing, staring at them non-stop.
Harlow shoved Daniels arm making him pay attention to her rather than his food "blond right ahead, she's been staring at us this whole time." Harlow nodded to the table opposite theirs where a young woman with white-blond hair, stared the two down while drinking out of her cup however when Daniel looked over the woman looked away from the group making Harlow even more suspicious
Daniel shrugged as if it were nothing shoving another hot chip in his mouth "it is your turn."
"I hate you," Harlow hissed at the man but quiet enough for an unsuspecting Caroline not to be alerted "I'll be back I just need to go to the bathroom." she told Caroline and walking off before she could respond
and as predicted Harlow was followed into the bathroom by no other than the blond, which stressed Harlow out to no end as she shut the door of her bathroom stall, mouthing swear words before flushing to the toilet and walking back out to wash her hands
she was expecting to get jumped by the blond however the blond woman was simply putting lipstick on, making Harlow visibly relax as she dried her wet hands "hi." she mumbled breaking the silence with the two, Harlow wasn't buying it, the woman was acting too suspicious.
as Harlow dried her hands still slightly watching the woman, she patted herself on the back for not being relaxed as she saw the blond reach into her back pocket and just as she suspected the woman Brought out a dagger aiming it for Harlows neck, lucky harlow was fast enough to restrain the woman as the knife was about to connect with her skin.
"a bit of a rude approach don't you think?" Harlow grunted as she pushed the woman back
"you won't win against her." the woman huffed as she lunged for Harlow once again, in the midst of Harlow avoiding being stabbed she had noticed that the woman was wearing heels. if the blind woman wasn't trying to murder Harlow in a public restroom, she would honestly give the woman some credit.
"never wanted to," Harlow spoke while she dodged the woman's lunge but not before her arm got nicked with the knife making her hiss in pain as she pushed the woman making her fall onto the wall "in retrospect who is 'her'?" while Harlow was speaking or more taunting the woman had dropped her knife In frustration, she was now going a more physical approach
"you know who," the woman scowled as she threw a punch towards Harlow "she took good care of your friend at the prom." Harlow reeled back from the punch in the face, she wasn't expecting the punch to come on so fast
"she doing this for aires?" Harlow spoke her voice laced with confusion and frustration for letting this woman hut her "killing people over some stupid grudge the gods have against each other?"
the blond shook her head charging for Harlow once again with her fists clenched "it is so more than that".
"well if you don't. ah-" the woman cut Harlow off mid-sentence punching Harlow in the stomach "mind I would like more context." Harlow recovered from the punch deflecting the next one and twisting the woman's hand behind her back
"you die, context later." the blond deadpanned getting out of Harlows grip then she pulled out another knife from her back pocket, however, Harlow was expecting this one and before the woman could hurt her Harlow gripped the woman hand burning it in the processes making a sizzling sound coming from the skin.
the woman let out a shrill of pain giving Harlow the opportunity to grab the knife out of the blond's hand before she could recover. full of adrenaline Harlow stabbed the woman in her side, before running out of the bathroom.
she was too tired to fight the woman once more and somehow her adrenaline is already running off and her wound on her arm was starting to throb "asshole." she uttered as she walked frantically back to her table trying to be unsuspicious
"huh, I was just about to visit you. your not dead," Daniel spoke not looking up from his drink as Harlow puffed out of breath ignoring the surprised look on Carolines face and the weirdly calm Daniel, Daniel then putting his drink down to properly look at a battered up Harlow who was trying to hide her cut on her arm to prevent drawing attention to herself "is she?"
Caroline who wasn't exactly sure what was happening simply looking between the two suddenly spoke as things connected in her mind "what?!" Caroline exclaimed a look of shock on her face.
Harlow found it entertaining that Caroline was at the shocked in the mention of murder when she was a vampire.
Harlow shook her head huffing as she tried the catch her breath "she's hopefully dead but we have to get out of here."
Caroline held a shocked expression as she looked between the two "guys... whats going on?" she spoke sceptically her voice shook as she mostly looked at Harlow who held a bloody lip and clutched her arm
"up ya get," Harlow grabbed onto Daniels's arm as Caroline followed, the three ran out of the diner, but not before Caroline threw a twenty dollar note onto the table.
Harlow was in a rush she had no idea if she killed the woman or not but she was pretty sure the repercussions would be the same
"can someone please tell me what's going on" Caroline half-shouted as she slammed the door shut on Harlows red Mazda, Daniel has somehow callen shotgun while Harlow sat in the passenger's seat in the front
"Harlow and I are Demigods and being hunted by this mentally insane demigod of Aries that wants to kill us so are Demigods are weaker. we are immortal as long as they decide we no die that means we don't want them dead," Daniel spoke with his words mumbled together as he didn't take a breath while shoving the keys into the key-hole of the car
"oh because that makes much more sense!" Caroline yelled as she gripped onto the seat trying to come to terms to what Daniel had just said "Harlow?" she looked over the girl who didn't seem to deny any of Daniels words
Harlow nodded franticly as they took off onto the road and Harlow wiped the blood off her face "what he said." the words making Caroline face pale
"your both crazy!" she yelled as they drove or more Daniel very closely prevented to crash
Daniel shrugged as he took a sharp turn Harlow was regretting letting Daniel call shotgun "been called worse." he spoke unbothered

that afternoon Harlow had gotten a text from kluas to meet him at the mansion, she wasn't going to question why. she had left Caroline and Daniel to watch some rom-com movie back at her house as Caroline needed a distraction she said and nothing is a better distraction then hanging out with Daniel
"What happened to you?" kluas asked as he eyed Harlows face as she came strolling in, her lip had seemed to be bruised but she had managed to tidy it up to be barely noticeable. he frowned his eyes then scanned the rest of her body that seemed to be in the clear but he couldn't see much as Harlow was wearing a baggy sweater.
she had obviously done this on purpose, her ribs were hurting like a bitch and her arm still hadn't stopped throbbing for some reason. she was also abnormally tired but she just categorised that as fighting a crazy blond who attempted to murder on her.
"not telling," Harlow mumbled, wiping her lip in the sense of being slightly dramatic and trying to see if her lip bleeding once again is what gave it away.
kluas sighed at the girl's stubbornness before letting a smirk find his face "I'll find out later." he spoke confidently while Harlow glared up at the man
"sure, you will," she spoke crossing her arms watching as one of his minions who Harlow wont question how he came, he shoved another coffin of what Harlow assumes to be kluas' siblings into the room.
"You've got your family back. Finally. You're gonna open them?" kluas's minion asked sighing, out of breath after pulling in all of the dusty coffins so that are placed in front of kluas and Harlow
kluas shook his head "Not quite yet. I still have some unfinished business to take care of."
" What business?" asked Daniel, he then suddenly let out a scream of pain and falls to the floor motionless with blood coming out of his chest. alerting both kluas and hallow
as the man fell Elijah is standing behind him with his heart in his hand, he then sped over to Harlow before kluas could grab onto her, Elijah held the girls head in his arms so at any moment he could twist it supposedly ending her life "So, Niklaus..." Elijah smiled at his sibling
"not a good idea, Elijah." kluas tutted, Harlow then placed one of her hands onto Elijah's arm, causing his skin to making a sizzling sound as it bubble turning angry read. Elijah groaned not expecting the pain while Harlow managed to get out of the headlock. now both kluas and Harlow standing either side of the man
Elijah lent on his knees as his hand recovered back to his normal shade "What did I miss?" he asked the two with a smirk on his face
