static electricity is a sharp zap

that fades as quick as it comes,

and you said that static

was the reason

your fingertips sparked

against my arm


but your touch was lightning,

bright and fast and fleeting;

it left my

skin tingling,

nerves sparking,

blood rushing—

heart jolting

as it is shocked back

into beating
