I laughed and hung up the phone. I finished putting on my sneakers and walked downstairs. Ashanti was putting her phone and charger into her purse she looked so beautiful.

"You ready?" I asked her.
"Yes! More than ready!" She put her purse on her arm and we walked out the house.
We drove to the location that Jo'nae sent us this morning. Once we got out we walked over to the door and opened it. I watched as excitement filled up Ashanti's face. We walked in and looked around. I'm not even gonna hold Jo'nae did her thing with this!
"Shantiiii!!!!" Jo'nae said coming over to her hugging her.
"Do you like it?"
"I love it! Bae look we got thrones." She said looking over at me. We walked over to them and sat down. It was only me, Ashanti, Jo'nae, and Demarcus. I put some of my homeboys in the list. Ashanti doesn't know that many people here in Jersey but she don't gotta worry about that I got a surprise for her.
Jo'nae was talking to Ashanti and Demarcus was talking to me.
"Candy called me the other day." He said to me. I looked up at him and breathed heavy.
"You stay fuckin up with her. You ain't tell her yet?"
"Nah. I thought it would just blow over but she keep texting and calling me."
"Why?"
"I don't know. She keeps asking how long Jo'nae and I been together and shit. She acting like her and I were dating and Jo'nae was just a fling like bitch no. We weren't even supposed to happen."
"You gotta tell her. I don't know when you gon do it but you got to."
He nodded his head. We joined the girls but Jo'nae wasn't tryna talk or be around Demarcus. I wouldn't blame her. I would be hurt to. Looking at Ashanti sitting down in her throne while her baby bump showed through her dress made me happy. I felt my heart warm up. I ain't never feel no shit like that before. We saw a car pull up and my homeboy and his girl hopped out. I went to go and open the door for them.
"Aye, Jay my boy!"
"Wassup! Thanks for coming." I said dappin em up.
"Kaylaaa." I exaggerated as I pulled her into a hug. Kayla and Troy been together for a long ass time. Whenever you see him you see her.
"Where's Ashanti?"
"Over here." I said walking them over to her.
"Ashanti, this is Troy and Kayla. Ya this Ashanti."
They greeted each other with hugs and congratulations. Kayla was drawn to Ashanti easily. Girls jus be bluetoothin around her n shit. We were vibin out, laughin, having a good time as more people came in and we greeted them. I looked over at Ashanti and she had a bright smile on her face. That's all that mattered right now.

The shower was going great. Ashanti was happy, Jay was happy. I'm glad they were enjoying themselves. I kept my distance from Demarcus because now is not the time.
We were finishing up our food when we saw a car pull up in the parking lot. I looked at Jay and he gave me a look. I got up and walked towards the door. When I opened it. Rachel and Nicole stood in the other side.
I chuckled. "What are ya doing here?" I said to them with a stern voice.
"You thought we wasn't going to show up? You're funny. Anyways we brought a gift and we want to attend the babyshower"
"You know Ashanti don't like either of ya. Especially after that fuck ass video you put in tiktok."
"Alright then just let us give her the gif-"
I cut her off by snatching the bag out her hand and slamming the door in her face. I walked back over to Ashanti putting the gift with the other ones.
"Who was it?" She asked me.
"No one important." I didn't tell her it was Rachel and Nicole because she needs to stay calm and happy right now. And they would just erk her nerve. I didn't tell Jay because I knew this shit would end bad. I just want Ashanti to be happy.
"Alright ya!" I said standing up tapping my glass. Everyone turned towards me.
"Girl this ain't no wedding sit down!" Troy said making us laugh.
"Shut up! Anyways. I just wanted to say some nice words to my bestfriend and her little family!" I said jerking my head at Troy.
"Ashanti congratulations. I'm so proud of you. You came here with an open mind and heart and I thank you for that because there's not many people like you. I wish happiness and success on you and the baby."
"What about me?" Jay asked.
"Yea you too." I said waving my hand at him.
"And with that being said let's find out the gender of this baby!"

We all got up and walked to the middle of the room. Jay and I were given this graffiti cannons.
"Wait!" He said walking over to me. He kissed my forehead. "I have a surprise for you. Close your eyes." I closed them and I heard him walked over to the door.
Moments later he walked back in. "Open your eyes." He told me. I opened them and felt like I was going to fall over.
