Aria's POV
Nathan was looking at me with blank expression so I wasn't able to understand what he was thinking. 'I know today I won't be getting job here' I sighed thinking about that. He is just looking at me. What should I do? Should I just walk away from- He interrupted my train aof thoughts.
"Are you just going to stand there Miss Campbell?" He said with an authoritative voice.
"Have a seat." He motioned to visitor's chair.
I nodded my head and went to sit there.
"Can I have your C.V"
He was asking me but it felt more of an order. I wanted to roll my eyes at his behaviour but I controlled myself. I am the one who needs the job and not the other way around, I reminded myself. I passed him my C.V and he began reading all the while his face giving not a single emotion he felt. After what felt like hours although it was just two minutes he looked up and stared directly in my eyes.
"Why do you want to work here Miss Campbell? Also are you sure you can handle work pressure considering this is your first job."
"Well Mr Parker, your company is one of the best. Also I have heard that this company have only best employees so I want to learn from the best as you said yourself since this is my first job. And about handling the work pressure, it won't be hard since I have confidence in myself that I can handle it very well."
"Aren't you over confident Miss Campbell?"
"I would not like to call my confidence over confidence Sir because I know what I am getting myself into as well as to express your views in business you need to be 100% sure about what you are speaking about. So sir I wouldn't call myself over confident."
"Why do you think we should hire you since this is your first job and you have no experience in this field?"
"Well Sir it is in your hands whether you wanna hire me or not. But I can definately tell you that I would do my work honestly and sincerely which I have heard that you want your employees to follow. About inexperience I believe it comes with time and I would like my best to not let your company down."
"Alright Miss Campbell, you-"
There was a knock interrupting Mr Parker. He said 'Come in' and in came an woman holding Liam in his hands. He was facing towards the door. The woman was in her early forties with dark brown chocolate coloured hair and I could tell that she was Mr Parker's mother. She was having ocean blue colour eyes with slightly tan skin. She was wearing a dark green colour dress which reached till her kness with pearl necklace around her neck. She noticed that Mr Parker was not alone so she gave me a small smile which I returned with mine. I stood up since you shouldn't sit if an elder is standing beside you. She turned towards Mr Parker and spoke,
"Nate I wasn't knowing you were having company or I would have came a while later."
"Mom she was just leaving. We are done with the interview anyways."
He then turned towards me,
"Miss Campbell we would notify you if your would be selected for the job. You are dismissed."
"Thankyou Mr Parker" I said looking at him and then turn towards the lady and said, "Pleasure to meet you Mrs Parker."
"Ohh the pleasure is all mine dear." She said smiling towards me.
I smiled back and decided to leave. She was standing on the way towards the door so I passed by her. I was turning the door knob when suddenly someone took my hair which were in pony. I turned back and saw Liam having my hair in his hand. As he saw me looking at him, he gave me his beautiful smile which I returned and spoke,
"Heyy Liam. How are you buddy?"
"You know him?" Mrs Parker asked me.
"Yes mam, I have met him twice."
"Okay."
I went towards Liam to remove my hair from his hands. Liam started wiggling in Mrs Parker's hold turning his body towards me. I looked at Mrs Parker and she just smiled at me. I took Liam from her hold and in my arms. He placed both of his hands around my neck whilst his right hand was holding my hair. He started playing with it and I was just looking at him. He was looking so cute with Grey sparkling eyes, cute little nose, chubby cheeks with his rosy lips. As if he felt my stare on him, he looked up and began looking in my eyes. He removed his hand around my neck and placed it on my cheek stroking it unknowingly. He pinched my nose which caused me to giggle. 'How can someone be so adorable' I thought to myself. I was so busy looking at him that I didn't notice where we were standing. I looked up and saw Mrs Parker looking at us with soft eyes and a small smile on her face. I expected her to look at me with an angry look for wasting her time like Mr Parker but she was having complete opposite reaction. I decided to give Liam back to her and not to waste thier much time. I started removing his hands around my neck when he looked up at me with sad expression on his face as if understanding what I am about to do. My heart hurt by seeing his once happy face replaced with a sad one. But I can't keep him in my arms for long although I want to. Trying my best to ignore his sad look I removed his hands on my cheek and turned his body towards Mrs Parker. He was not ready to go towards her. I gave him one of my assuring smiles trying to assure him. He seemed to believe me but turned his body towards me. He placed his hands around my neck tightly and his head in the crook of my neck. I looked towards Mrs Parker but she was looking at me with smile on her face,
"Looks like Liam is fond of you dear."
I just smiled in response because I didn't know how to reply to her statement.
Mr Parker stood up and came towards us where we were standing. He began stroking Liam's back to turn him yet he didn't. He started tickling Liam's sides causing him to remove his face from my neck and look at him.
"Heyy Buddy. I have missed you so much. Come here baby lets play. Come to dada."
Liam refused by placing his face in my neck once again. I looked at him and stroked his cheek. He smiled at me. I heard a chuckle, when I looked up I saw Mrs Parker smiling towards Nathan. I looked at his face to see him glaring at me. 'This man is always glaring at me. What did I even do this time? I think he doesn't know how to look towards a person without glaring' I rolled my eyes at that thought.
"A penny for your thoughts Miss Campbell" Mr Parker said looking at me.
Shit, I forgot he is still here. What should I answer him now. God please help me. As if on que Mrs Parker spoke looking towards Nathan,
"Come on Nate. Cut the girl some slack will you? And why are you glarring at her? She is such a nice girl."
I bite the inside of my cheek to control my laugher. I mean I haven't seen somebody speak in this manner to Mr Parker. And the important thing was he didn't even said anything. I couldn't contain a chuckle that escaped from my mouth however I tried to cover it up by fake coughing. But from both of thier faces I could say they weren't buying it.
"Liam do you want eat ice cream. Come here baby we will go to your favourite shop and also I'll buy you your favourite chocolate. Come here buddy. Let's go", Mr Parker said.
Liam looked up at the mention of ice cream and chocolate and was about to go towards Mr Parker when he saw me. He moved closer towards me so that his head was on my shoulder. Mrs Parker laughed at Liam's response and said,
"I haven't seen him turn down any chocolates offer. And not going towards Nate is an another first." She smiled at me.
Mr Parker was looking at me as if expecting me to give him his son. I sighed because I know I need to give him his son back; its just that I don't wanna let him go but eventually I need to. I ruffled Liam's hair and then stroked his cheek softly while saying,
"Liam do you want to go to your daddy. He wants to play with you. Come on love, I know you missed him right. Besides me and you will play afterwards, Alright. Look baby, he is waiting for you and so is your grandma. Ok let's do it this way; you first play with them and then we will have lots of time to play ourselves right."
I tried giving him to Mr Parker and surprisingly he went. He took Liam towards his desk to play with him. I took that as my chance to dismiss myself. I looked at Mrs Parker and smiled at her. She replied me with one. I went towards door and opened it to go outside since I didn't want Liam to be upset again. I looked at him once more before closing the door.
As I passed through Claire she waved at me and I smiled in return. I took the elevator to ground floor. I was moving towards exit when I spotted Melissa. I went towards her.
"Heyy Melissa. Just stopped by to chat with you. Sorry I was in a hurry in the morning so couldn't talk with you properly."
"Heyy Aria. No worries, I understand. So how did your interview go?"
"Oh that interview was great but I also applied for CEO'S secretary and for that I don't know how it went. I guess I have accountants job secured so lets see."
"Oh you applied for the secretary's post as well. I have heard that boss is quite intimating as well as he wants his work to be perfect. Goodluck for that girl."
I chuckled at her,
"Ohh I need that. By the way it was nice meeting you and if I get a job here maybe we could be work friends what say?"
"Ohh I definitely agree with that but work or not; we are friends. And you are right lets hangout sometime also it has been a while since I had a good company and with you it seems you are."
I laughed at the last sentence.
"Sure I would love to be your friend. Lets exchange numbers shall we?"
We exchanged numbers and talked for another 10 minutes about where do we stay and I also told her about Vi. She said she would love to meet her.
"Alright Aria, I gotta go. My break would be soon over. Meet you soon girl."
"Yeah I will text you. Bye."
I exited the building and hailed a cab to return back home since I am tired and I don't wanna go to the cafe today. I'll call Mr Johnson and inform him. I don't even know to whether expect the call from company or not? I just hope to get a job as an accountant other than that assistant one. Anyways, I think I was bit rude during interview. Gosh, I don't wanna think about that interview, now I am getting a headache. I have not even started working for the man yet I am having a headache. What would happen if I actually work for him?
