White petals
Yellow heads
Drooping vines
They all nod in the breeze.
If you close your eyes
You'll see the darkness
Hiding between the canopy
And the forest floor's cracks
Tracing a path that led to greener grass
Once upon a time.

I'm trying to get back into poetry. It's a little depressing for New Year's Day, which I only now realize, but do not worry! I made a more cheerful poem after this one. (Keep an eye - or should I say, an ear....out for it.)
