~Winter break is over and Laiya has to get ready to go back to school.~
Tomorrow was the first day back at school after break and I wasn't ready. I was tired of school. I really don't wanna go back now that I got an ankle monitor on cus mfs be nosey asf. Von wasn't able to stay the night anymore since school was starting back up so he had to start leaving at around 7pm. It was 6 right now so we was just sitting downstairs talking with Mani. Nique went back to Atlanta a few days ago and the house hasn't felt the same without him. I wish all of us could stay together but Nique always wanna be in Atlanta and Von would most likely wanna stay in Chicago cus of his family.
Mani's phone started ringing and she said "Oop it's Nique!" Me: "Answer it." She answered the call and I seen Nique's face all up in the camera. Nique: "Wassup bitchess." Mani: "Hiii." Nique: "Dawg it feel good asf to be back in my city. Ion know where shit at in Chicago." Von: "Dats ight. Yeen gotta be up here🤣" Nique: "Mane Chicago wack asl anyways." Me: "Y'all really gon argue bout dis again? 😭" Nique: "Nahh but I preciate y'all fa lettin me stay up there tho. Hopefully next time y'all can come down here and nobody will get arrested. COUGH COUGH LAIYA." Me: "Shut up bruh 🤣." Mani: "We can prolly go down there during the summer time." Nique: "Fashoo. After Lai Lai graduate, we turning tf up." Me: "Guh I can't wait. I'm tired of dis school shit." Mani: "You gon have to get a job 😂." Nique: "Aht, don't be talkin to nobody bout havin a job when yo broke ass ain't got one either 🤣" Mani: "Stfu I got an interview next week. Nique: "Oh wordd? Where you finna be workin at?" Mani: "Dat Walmart we went to on New Year's." Nique: "Trash." Me: "Not everybody can be out trappin nd shit Nique." Von: "Mani don't needa be innat game anyways😂" Nique: "Man I can teach her a cuppa skills nd shit." Mani: "No thank you.." Nique: "Man whatevaa. Aye lemme call you back inna lil bit, I gotta go slide to my homeboy house right quick" Mani: "Okay bye Nique, be safe, I luv youu" Nique: "Luv you too sis." She hung up and said "I worry bout him a lot." Me: "I do too... He kno D-man got killed down there doin the same shit he doin." Von: "Who D-man?" Mani: "He was a lil boy we used to hang out wit a lot when we was little. He was fuckin round wit da wrong people and started flippin bricks, trappin, and sum mo shit then he got caught up in some shit and they shot him." Von: "Damn..." Me: "I wish Nique would jus put allat shit to the side and do sum else." Mani: "He don't listen. He says he got everything under control and he know what he doin but I still don't trust nun of dem mfs he hang around." Von: "He do gotta watch out for mfs tho. You can't trust anybody, especially when you fuckin round in sum shit like that." Me: "Nique don't even be telling us about nothing that be goin on down there. He jus says he be trappin nd dassit." Von: "Some niggas don't want folks speakin onnat shit." Me: "And that's why he don't needa hang around them niggas." Mani: "Ion give a damn who or what, if anything happen to Nique, Imma kill some damn body and dats on everything. I'm my brother's keeper and ion play bout him." Me: "Facts." Von: "Y'all crazy 🤣" Mani: "Nah like all jokes aside tho, if somebody did sum to Durk, Doodie, DaeDae, or any of them other niggas you be around, you would slide right?" Von: "Oh fasho. Especially bout Durk, dat nigga done got me out so much shit. I'd catch a case fa dat nigga." Me: "Exactly, so we ain't crazy 😂" Mani: "Ion even wanna think about anything like that tho... Imma be heading upstairs, I done hurt my own feelings." Von: "Yea I gotta get home here soon before my mama raise hell." He stood up and grabbed his jacket off the back of the couch. Me: "Awe okay. Be safe." He gave me 2 kisses then gave Mani a hug and left. Mani: "What time you gotta be up for school tomorrow?" Me: "I usually wake up at around 7:45am and leave at 8:15am." Mani: "You want me to take you?" Me: "Nah Von prolly gon come and get me, preciate it tho. I gotta call my parole officer and ask her bout that cus ion kno if they set it to where I'm able to go to school or not." Mani: "Oh ight. Imma take a shower so do you gotta use the bathroom?" I shook my head and she walked upstairs. I sat back down on the couch and dialed the number on the card the officer gave me last month. Somebody picked up the phone and said "Hello, This is Officer Manns, how may I help you?" Me: "Um hi... It's Laiya Anderson." Officer: "Okay, what can I do for you?" Me: "So tomorrow I gotta go back to school and I was just wondering if the court has it set to where I can go there.." Officer: "Yes ma'am, it was set the day the monitor got put on you. The court can track where you are as well. Like if you go anywhere after school other than home, an officer will be at your house." Me: "Oh... okay thank you." Officer: "Of course! Anymore questions?" Me: "No ma'am, I'm sorry for calling you so late." Officer: "It's fine. If you have any more questions in the future, please call me again." Me: "Okay bye." I hung up the phone and walked upstairs in my room. I wrapped my hair up in my scarf and bonnet then laid down. Von set a text that said "You want me to come getchu tmr?"
Me: "If you want to. Mani offered to take me but I ain't kno if you was coming."
Von: "Ight imma be there inna morning. Goodnight ma 🖤"

I put my phone on the charger and went to sleep.

I woke up at 7:30am to take a shower and get ready for school. After I got out, I brushed my hair and and my teeth then put on some jeans, a hoodie and my Jordan's. Mani knocked on the door and said "Good morningggg!" Me: "Good morning. Why you all skippy?" Mani: "Ion know, I just woke up feeling good. Do you know what time Von comin to get you?" Me: "He just said he was gon knock on the door whenever he got here." Mani: "Girl you only got a few more weeks of dis dumbass house arrest, then you'll be free." Me: "I knoww I can't wait." Mani: "Bet yo dumbass won't do it again😂" Me: "Bye asf cus I most definitely would 🤣. Imma jus get somebody else on her big ass." Mani: "Girl you reckless." Me: "Fasho and I don't give a damn." There was a knock on the door downstairs and I said "Oh that's prolly Von. Imma see you later on today. Byee tell Momma and Daddy I left please!" Mani: "Byee. Y'all be safe!" I picked up my bookbag and walked downstairs to open the door. Von was standing there in his hoodie and a big winter jacket. Von: "Come on ma damn! It's cold asf out here." Me: "Boy shut up 😂" I shut the door and walked out to his car. I got in the passenger seat and Von said "You be bullshittin like it's summer time or sum. Dis Chicago weather ain't nun to be playing wit." Me: "You ain't even have to get out the car 🙄. All you had to do was honk da horn or text me and I woulda came out. Now come on and get us to school before we late."
He drove us to the school and I seen a bunch of kids outside getting off buses and some kids was just sitting at the entrance. Me: "Ew I hate this school." Von: "Facts." He cut the car off and we walked inside to get our new schedule for the 2nd semester. Von: "I got all my classes witchu na. For da rest of the year too? Man dis gon be fun 🤣" Me: "Lawd I'm finna fail all my classes" Von: "Quit playing wimme." He put his arm around me and walked me to my locker. I seen somebody I ain't seen in so long a few feet away. Me: "Von look!!" Von: "What?" Me: "It's Ka'Myra!" Von: "She tiny asf😂" Me: "Shut up." I closed my locker and walked over to her. Me: "Hi Myra!!" Myra: "Omgg Lai! Hi." Me: "Why ain't you text me or nun? 😭" Myra: "Girl I gotta get a new phone. Mines won't charge no mo, so I gotta buy a new one. I'm sorry tho" Me: "Oh it's all good sis." Myra: "Oop what's that on yo ankle?" Me: "Girl them mfs put me on house arrest 🤣" Myra: "Whattt?" Von: "She can't go nowhere but here and her house 😂" Myra: "Damnn bitch😭. They did not come to play wit you. Ouu lemme see yo schedule!" I handed her the paper and she said " We still got all our classes together bitch!" Me: "Well Von in all of my classes too 🤣" Myra: "Eww I gotta deal wit his lil ugly self." Von: "Quit cappin. You kno damn well I ain't ugly. Didn't you have a crush on me in 5th grade? 🤔" Myra: "CHILL." Von: "Yeahhh" Myra: "Bye asf you had a lil peanut head I ain't even like you back then." Me: "Not a peanut 😭" Myra: "I'm so serious, like if I can find the year book for elementary school I would show you his lil bean." Von: "Relax." Me: "Nahh I wanna see you wit da lil bean 🤣" Von: "Shut up." The bell rang and the 3 of us walked to our first period. The teacher let us pick where we wanted to sit so I sat with Von and Myra near the window. Myra: "How long you gotta be on house arrest for?" Me: "2 months. The sentence almost up tho, I got like 2 weeks left." Myra: "Good cus I wanna hang out witchu somewhere other than yo house and school." Von: "Imma be da first one to take ha lil ass out." The teacher walked over to our desks and said "If you 3 keep talking, I will move seats around. You're disrupting the other students in this class." Von: "The other kids talkin too. Get on them, not jus us." Me: "Shh" Teacher: "Mr. Bennett, I will send you to the principal. I'm not dealing with your attitude and this arguing stuff this semester." Von: "Ion care. You can't get on us when everybody else in yo class talkin." Me: "Von just be quiet..." He slouched back in his chair and said "Ight man. Can you just get out my face cus I'm boutta get mad." The teacher rolled her eyes and walked away. Myra: "Didn't you already get mad tho.." Me: "Stfu you gon get him started again 🤣" Von: "I hate dis dumb bitch. Ion even know why they kept me in her class." Me: "You'll be okay baby." I patted his hand and he squeezed my hand a little bit. Teacher: "A worksheet is being passed around the class. It's to be done and turned into the bin by the end of the period today. It's just an "about me" worksheet because I'm seeing a few new faces in here." I looked over the paper and read some of the stuff on it. We all talked and did the work until the bell rang again. Teacher: "Turn your papers in to me before leaving! If I don't have your paper, you will receive a zero!" I put Von and my paper in the lil turn in bin and walked out. Von: "If you wasn't in that class I wouldn't do any of dat shit." Me: "Yea yo ass finna be doin allat work." Myra: "Yo grades prolly look like shit 😂" Von: "Only in some classes." Me: "Yea allat finna change." We went to our next class but this time the teacher had assigned seats. Von and me was still pretty close because of our last names but Myra was in the back of the room.
The teacher in that class was okay but he was real strict about the seats and attendance. He taught a lesson then gave us an exit slip. After that class, it was time for lunch. The 3 of us walked to the cafeteria and it was PACKED. Myra: "Ew don't nobody wanna be in here wit all these nasty ass kids..." Me: "It ain't even nowhere to sit." Von: "I kno somewhere." We got our food then Von walked us over to 2 tables full of dudes that was laughing and roasting each other. I seen DaeDae at one of the tables laughing and smacking some dude's arm. Von: "What y'all niggas on?" DaeDae: "Ayee my boy Von came thru!" He got up and dapped Von up. DaeDae: "Y'all need somewhere to sit?" Von: "Yeah cus dis mf packed." DaeDae made a few dudes scoot down amd move around so there would be enough room for us. Myra: "These yo homeboys?" Von: "Yea why?" Myra: "They don't seem like da type to hang around you." Von: "Stfu." Me: "Y'all always arguin 😂" Myra: "Girl bye cus you be arguing with him more than I do. I just pick wit em 🤣." Von: "Facts." Me: "Both of y'all can kiss my ass fr 😭" DaeDae sat on top of the table and said "What class y'all got left?" Von handed him the paper and DaeDae said "Awee sheitt dawg we got dat mf together! We finna play basketball when we get in the gym." Me: "Fr?" DaeDae: "Yeah, y'all in there too?" He pointed at me and Myra and I nodded. DaeDae: "Bettt nigga." Von: "Man I'm jus tryna hurry up nd go tf home." Me: "Fr I'm tired asf." DaeDae: "How much longer you on house arrest?" Me: "2 weeks, tell everybody cus I'm tired of ppl askin." Another dude came to the table and sat next to Von. He said something to Von then said "Oh shit dawg that's you?" Von: "Fasho nigga. Got da baddest innis mf." He put his arm around me and started smiling. Myra: "Oh now yo ass ain't gon move his arm huh? 😂" Me: "Shut up 🤣. I didn't know him at the time." Von: "She do now." Myra: "Aw look at dat." I kissed his cheek and a teacher that was in the corner said "Hey! Hey! No physical contact!" Me: "Girl it was just-" Teacher: "No. Physical. Contact. If I see it again both of you will be sent to in school suspension." Von: "What did I do?" Teacher: "You let it happen." Von: "Issa a kiss on the cheek but ight dawg." Teacher: "Do you want to go see the principal?" Me: "No ma'am we're good..." She stared at us then walked off. Von: "Dis why I'm tryna get df up outta here mane these hoe ass teachers be tweakin." Me: "Aww he so cute when he madd" Myra: "Bitch please."
We threw everything away then went out in the hallway. Von took off his hoodie and said "Here ma. Can you put dis in yo locker fa me?" Me: "Yeah Imma be in the gym in a lil bit." Von: "Ight." He walked off and I took Myra with me to my locker to put some things in it. Myra: "Girl he don't even act like he used to." Me: "Whatchu mean 🤣" Myra: "Like he used to be quieter than he is now, he ain't really speak to people like that, he stayed in trouble wit the teachers and all kinds of shit." Me: "The teacher thing I can kinda see but all that other stuff is nice. I like that he's quiet." Myra: "It's just surprising 😂. I wish you could've seen how he used to be.. like you wouldn't believe how much he's changed." Me: "Stopp cus a lot of ppl been sayin that 😭" Myra: "Girl that's cus it's true." The bell rang then me and Myra walked in the gym. People was up playing basketball, some were sitting on the bleachers, some was up walking around. The gym teachers never really made us do anything in that class anyways unless it was a physical test. We sat on the bottom of the bleachers and I started looking around the gym for Von. I seen him across the gym on the other set of bleachers taking his shirt off and talking to DaeDae. He stood there in his tank top talking to DaeDae and some other dudes. Myra: "I see you eyeballing dat😏" Me: "Shut up 🤣. He jus look good like dat." Myra: "He's just standing there..." Me: "Shhh they bout to start." One of the dudes picked up the ball and passed it to Von and they started playing.
About 20 minutes into the game, there was a big, buff dude that was about to shoot the ball into the net but then he jumped and his elbow hit Von straight in the face. He fell down and a few people crowded around him. Everybody yelled "DAYUMM." I got up and ran over to the little crowd then pushed through the people. Von was sitting with his head down between his knees. I bent down and picked his chin up. His lip was bleeding a little and his eye was starting to swell. The gym teacher walked over and said "Bennett, go to the nurse's office and get some ice." Von: "Nah I'm good." Me: "No you're not. Go get some ice.. please." He looked at me then I helped him get up. He looked at the dude that elbowed him and said "You lucky ion whoop yo ass Monte." Monte: "My bad dawg." I grabbed his hand and pulled him out the gym. Von: "Dat big body bitch busted my shit open." Me: "Yo ass is too skinny to be playin wit somebody as big as him." Von: "I'm straight." We walked to the office and the lady behind the front desk said "Can I help you?" Von: "Nah my lip is busted and I came up here to have a good conversation." Me: "He needs some ice for his eye and lip." She pointed to the chairs outside the nurses office and said "Sit there. The nurse has somebody in right now so you'll have to wait until she comes out." We sat down and I kept looking at his face. Me: "You gon have a black eye." Von: "It ain't the first time." The nurse called us in her room and told Von to sit on the seat. She was a sweet little old lady that just about the whole school loved. Nurse: "Aww no, what happened to you sweetie?" Von: "I was playin basketball and I got elbowed. I jus need sum ice tho and I'll be good." Nurse: "Is this a friend?" She looked at me and smiled. Von: "Yeah she's my girl." Nurse: "Ah. Young love, it's a beautiful thing. I'm going to clean up your lip and a little bit around your eye, to avoid infection then I can give you some ice and you'll be all good!" She patted his knee and got up to get the things she needed. Nurse: "Is there anything else that hurts on you? Like your ankle, arm, knee?" Von: "Nah." She patted his face with a cloth and he flinched back. Nurse: "I know it burns love. Just be still." She put some gloves on and rubbed Vaseline on his lip then handed him a small bag of ice. Nurse: "Keep this on your eye until you're able to get home and get some more, okay? Be careful out on that court!" Von: "Ight, preciate you Ms. Williams." Nurse: "Oh wait! Before you go, I need your name." Von: "Dayvon Bennett." She wrote it down and said "Okay thank you honey. Here you go." She handed both of us a sucker then we walked out. Me: "She's so sweet." Von: "That's prolly the only adult in this school I like." Me: "You just bad 🤣" Von: "Nah these mfs was starting problems wit me before they knew I was a bad kid." Me: "Lemme see your eye." He moved the ice pack and it was starting to get a little dark under his eye. I started laughing and he said "Shut up before I give you one." Me: "You ain't gon do it 😂" We walked back in the gym and DaeDae was standing on the side of the bleachers like he was waiting on us. DaeDae: "Damn dawg yo lip fat asf." Von: "My eye swoll too." DaeDae: "Damn 🤣. He got you good." Von: "Dat fat mf lucky ion whoop his ass." Me: "It was an accidental situation relax 😭" He pushed his dreads back and walked to the bleachers where Myra was at. Myra looked at Von and busted out laughing. Von: "Man shut up." Myra: "Omg I can't.... I tried holding my laugh in but..." Me: "Stop 😂." He sat down and his dreads came down over his face. Von: "My mama gon throw a fit when she sees my face." Me: "That's gon be fun." The bell rang and me and Von walked to my locker to get our stuff. I handed him his hoodie and held his ice pack for him. He pulled his hoodie over his head and fixed his dreads. Von: "You always staring at me 🤣." Me: "Cus you look good asf." He pulled his keys out his pocket and stared at me for a few seconds then he started laughing. Me: "What?" Von: "Nothing just come on 😂." He put his arm around me then we walked towards the entrance of the school. Myra came around the corner and said "Bye y'all. I'll see you tomorrow!!" Me: "Bye." I zipped my jacket up and we walked outside to Von's car. Me: "I can't wait until they take this damn monitor off." Von: "Yo ass gon listen next time huh? 🤣" Me: "Hmm.. Maybe." He kissed my forehead then started the car to take me home. When we pulled up outside, I grabbed my stuff and we got out. I walked in the house and it was empty. Me: "Mani?" I knew Momma and Daddy were at work but I didn't know where Mani could've went. I walked upstairs and opened her door. Von checked in the bathroom but she wasn't there. I sent her a text asking where she was but she didn't answer. Me: "I'm starting to get worried..." Von: "Call her." I dialed her number and she took a minute to pick up. Mani: "Hello?" Me: "Mani, where are you??" Mani: "I'm not gon say... I'm okay tho. Imma be home in a few hours. Auntie and Unc gon be home around the time I get there so you'll have the house to yourself! Unless Von's overrr." Me: "Are you sure you're okay?" Mani: "Yeah. I'll be back in a few hours. I gotta... uh I gotta go Lai." She hung up and Von said "Where she at?" Me: "She won't tell me... She just said she's gon be back around the time Momma and Daddy get back from work. She said she was okay and everything so I guess there's nothing to worry about.." Von: "Well if she says she's fine, don't stress bout it ma." He gave me a kiss then walked in my room. Me: "Imma get something to drink." I walked downstairs and looked through the cabinets for the liquor Nique bought a few weeks ago. I found a small bottle of Malibu that was half way full and drank as much of it as I could. My throat and chest started burning so I got a cup of water to wash it down. I went back in my room and Von was sitting in the chair in front of my desk on his phone. I sat on my bed and stared at him. He looked up and started laughing again. Me: "Hm?" Von: "You always starin at me weird 🤣." Me: "And I told you why." Von: "You weird asf." Me: "For thinking you fine?" Von: "Nah for lookin at me like that😂" I pulled my knees up to my chest and put my head on them. I still stared at him and he shook his head and looked back down. I got up and stood in front of him and he said "Go on na." Me: "I'm not doing anything." Von: "You bout to doe." I unfolded his arms then sat in his lap. I put my arms around his neck and put my head on his shoulder. Von: "Wassup witchu?" Me: "Nothing... I just wanna lay on you." He grabbed my face and looked at my eyes. I started laughing and said "Move." Von: "You been drinking?" Me: "What?? No..." Von: "Yes you was." Me: "No I wasn't." Von: "Nigga I can smell it." Me: "That don't mean I drank it. Stupidd." Von: "Yes tf it do. How else would it get in yo mouth?" Me: "You're so fine when you're mad." I leaned in and kissed him and he said "Laiya." Me: "You're so wack." Von tried getting up but I wrapped my legs around his waist. Von: "Get down." Me: "Why are you so angry?" Von: "How much did you drink?" Me: "I... don't know. You smell good bae." Von: "You needa get down." Me: "Whyy." Von: "Imma go get chu some water, get down." Me: "Take me witchu." He got up and put me on the bed. I pulled his shirt and tried to give him a kiss but somebody started knocking on the door. Von: "Stay up here and don't come out. Ian playin dis game witchu." Me: "Okayy damn." He stared at me for a few seconds then shut my door.
A few minutes later, I heard somebody walking upstairs then my door opened. Mani walked in with Von behind her. Mani: "Lai- Girl what da hell did you do?" Me: "Nothing..." Von: "Ion kno what she drank or where she got it from." Mani: "Lai Lai you need to sober up before yo momma and daddy get here." Me: "I am sober-" Mani: "No you not." Me: "How you gon tell me?" Von: "We know how you act when you drunk Lai." Mani: "Can you please just tell me Laiya?" Me: "I have a buzz." Mani: "Jesus." Von: "Yo ass needa go to sleep." Me: "Ain't he fine when he mad?" Mani: "Okay... here we go." She pulled my blanket back and let me crawl under it. Me: "I thought you was comin back later." Mani: "I came to get some things and Von told me sum was up witchu." I rolled on my side and looked at them. Me: "Where was you at?" Mani: "Don't worry bout it... I gotta hurry up and leave." Von: "It's coo. I got her." Mani: "Okay, Imma be back at around 6pm, Auntie and Unc will too. Just make her drink a lot of water, since she didn't drink much the water should flush allat out her system." She looked at me then they walked out. I sat up and cut my TV on. Von walked back in with a cup of water and said "Laiya." Me: "Huh." Von: "Drink this." Me: "Why are you so angry babyy?" Von: "Take da damn cup." I grabbed the cup and drank the water in it. He sat on the edge of the bed and ruffled his dreads. I scooted to the edge and put my arm around him. Me: "Why do you stay..." Von: "What?" Me: "Why do you stay with me?" Von: "Whatchu mean?" Me: "I'm always makin you angry, always startin stuff, just being a headache and a burden in yo life. I wanna know why you stay with me even tho I be putting you thru it." He turned around and stared at me. Me: "Well? I wanna know." Von: "I stay cus I got love for you. You brought out a lot of good in me ma. Ion care if you be givin me headaches or nun of dat, you still make me happy. I told you that yo ass wasn't leavin me." Me: "But don't you get tired of it?" Von: "Sometimes but I kno how to deal wit you. You like a lil kid, I just gotta let you tire yourself out." Me: "Von... if youn wanna be my boyfriend no mo jus say that." Von: "Yeah it's time for you to go to sleep 😂" Me: "I'm serious." Von: "You been drinking." Me: "And? What I'm sayin is truth." Von: "Lai, go to sleep." I sat back on the bed and stared at my ceiling. Me: "I'm sorry..." Von: "For what? 🤣" Me: "Everything I do to make you mad..." Von: "Youn gotta be sorry fa nun of dat. I told you I'm not worried bout it shordy." He got up and stared at me then sat next to me. He pulled my arms and I sat up. He gave me a kiss and said "You ain't gotta worry bout me doin you dirty or nun of dat bs Nazir goofy ass was on." Me: "I know..." He gave me another kiss then he said "I gotta call my mom. Imma tell her you sick and I'm stayin witchu." He got up and grabbed his phone then walked out of my room.
A few minutes later, he came back in and said "She knows where imma be at for the night. Imma get Mani to tell yo parents." I nodded my head and pulled my blankets up. Von: "You good?" Me: "Yes. I'm tired..." Von: "I been telling you to go to bed shordy😂" Me: "Shut up. That's why you got a black eye." Von: "You gon keep throwin dat in my face? 🤣" Me: "Fasho." Von: "Ight bet. At least I can go to da store." Me: "Nigga please you been sayin that for 2 months 😭" Von: "Just wait." Me: "For what?" Von: "If you get a black eye imma laugh at yo lil ass." Me: "Man whatever. I'm not worried bout you." He climbed on the bed and laid on my thighs. We sat there talking until Mani came back home. Mani came upstairs in my room and her hair was FUCKED up and she plopped down in the chair. Von: "Dayummm what happened to you?" Mani: "I'm not gon say..." Me: "I know exactly what happened 😭. Did you have an attitude wit em? Ouuu who is itt?" Mani: "Girl shut up... Yo momma and daddy boutta be here soon. They know Von gon be here for the night but they jus said he gotta get up for school." Me: "He still got clothes in my dresser." Mani: "Ight... Imma uh.. Imma be goin to bed. I'm tired." Von: "Who was innem ribs Mani🤣" She rolled her eyes and walked out. Me: "I betchu it was Quan." Von: "She bet not be fw dat nigga." I played in his dreads until I heard a horn honking outside. I got up and seen Momma's car. Me: "Shit... She prolly got groceries." I knocked on Mani's door and said "Momma got groceries, come on." Mani: "Ight I'm comin..." I walked downstairs and opened the door then seen Momma coming up on the porch. Momma: "Is Mani back?" Me: "Yeah she boutta come down. Von here too, do you need his help?" Momma: "Nah he can sit upstairs." Mani came downstairs in a tank top, sweatpants, and furry slides looking tore up. Momma: "Girl what da hell happened?" Mani: "Nothing, why?" Momma: "Chile you look a mess..." Mani: "After I get this groceries in I'm going to sleep." She walked outside and Momma yelled "Girl put a damn coat on! It ain't summer time." Momma and Mani brought in all the groceries then Momma made me put them up. Von came downstairs and sat in the kitchen while I was putting them up. Von: "Getchu some more water." Me: "Ion need it." Von: "Are you sure?" Me: "Mhm." Von: "You straight?" Me: "Yes." Von: "Don't seem like it." Me: "Well I am." He stared at me until I looked up. Me: "Hello?" Von: "What? I'm jus makin sho you good fr." Momma came back downstairs and stared at Von. Me: "Mom-" Momma: "What happened to ya face baby? Did Laiya hit you?" Me: "What?" Momma: "You usually put yo hands on people." Von: "Nah she can't even reach my eyeballs 😂" Me: "Shut up." Momma: "What happened?" Von: "I was playing basketball and somebody elbowed me." Momma: "Hm that's prolly why yo lip fat too." Von: "Uh... yeah.." Momma: "Well baby, keep some ice on it to stop the swelling. It's prolly gon get darker than it is now." She pulled a ziploc bag out the cabinet then filled it with some ice and handed it to Von. Momma: "Take it boy! Ion want ya eye bein all swoll." He grabbed the bag and put it on his eye then Momma walked back upstairs. I started laughing and he threw a piece of ice at me. Me: "Ow... you a bitch." Von: "Shut up." Me: "Get out my house." Von: "Oh fr?" He got up and got his jacket off the coat rack. Me: "No no no... I was playing 🤣" Von: "Nahh you told me to get out." Me: "I was playing witchu 😂. You just a big ole baby." Von: "But yo ass kno damn well if I left, you'd be all in yo feelings." Me: "Fasho. Ion care." He kissed my cheek and sat back down. I stood in front of him and traced a tattoo on his arm with my finger. Me: "Did y'all ever slide back at Quan?" Von: "Not that I kno of." Me: "I wanna go next time." Von: "Hell nawl." Me: "Whyyy" Von: "Ion want you in da mix of dat shit. Youn eva kno what could happen like you could be in the wrong place at the wrong time and sum shit go down." Me: "Aww" Von: "Ain't shit sweet." We went back in my room and watched TV for a few hours. Durk started calling Von on facetime. Von: "Fuck..." Me: "Hannit hea." He looked at me and I said "Gimme it dummy." I grabbed his phone and answered it. Durk: "Yeoo Von." He looked at the camera and said "Oh shit wassup Lai? Is Von there?" Me: "Yeah wassup?" Durk: "I needa talk to Von for a minute." Von: "Wassup witchu?" Durk: "Aye dawg where you at?" Von: "I'm next to Lai. Wassup?" Durk: "Put ya face inna camera." Von: "Fa what?" Durk: "Nigga cus I'm tryna see you." Von took the phone and put his face in the camera. Durk started laughing and Von said "Nigga is dis all you called for?" Durk: "Nah mane my bad 🤣. When you get home, I gotta talk to you bout sum. You kno we don't discuss this shit over the phone." Von: "I'm not gon be home tonight. Mama kno dat." Durk: "Damn. When you comin home den?" Von: "Ion kno. I can prolly swing by tomorrow tho." Durk: "Ight den. Imma talk to you later cuzz." Von: "Ight dawg." He hung up and rolled over to stare at me. Me: "Why don't yall ever talk bout nun serious on the phone?" Von: "Cus youn neva kno if they tapped or not. Somebody could be hanging around too." I sat up and he laid on his back. He tapped my elbow and licked his lips. Me: "Stop." Von: "Stop what? 🤣" Me: "You know whatchu doin." Von: "Ion know whatchu talkin bout but go off ma😂" I got up and stood in front of my TV. I heard him get up behind me then he kissed my neck. Von: "Imma be right back." Me: "Where you goin?" Von: "To the store. You want something?" Me: "No." He kissed me a few more times then he walked downstairs. I went in Mani's room and she was on her phone with the Tv playing in the back. Mani: "Wassup?" Me: "Nun I jus wanted to come check on you. Yo ass look like you had a rough day 🤣." Mani: "Nah I'm good.." Me: "Why won't you tell me who you was with?" Mani: "Cus you be quick to judge..." Me: "Girl bye I am not finna judge you." Mani: "Fine but you gotta promise me 2 things." Me: "Okay..." Mani: "Promise you won't tell Von and promise you won't judge." Me: "Okay I promise." Mani: "I was with Durk today... He told me he had feelings for me and then we got into it. I'm not sure if he wants to be in a relationship..." I started laughing and she said "See I knew you was gon do dis." Me: "I'm not judging. I'm sorry 🤣." Mani: "So?" Me: "So what?" Mani: "Whatchu gon say?" Me: "I'm just surprised. I thought you went to see Quan today." Mani: "No he stopped texting me cus I never answered him. Me and Durk been spending a lot of time together for a lil while now. Nobody knows but you." Me: "Aww y'all gon be so cutee." Mani: "We're not even together... I don't think we are... I'm too scared to ask him." Me: "Why?" Mani: "Cus ion wanna look dumb." Me: "What? How you gon look dumb?" If that's whatchu so worried bout then fall back. Let him show you how much you mean to him, then you can give em all da luv you want to. I'm not saying don't show feelings at all cus then he jus gon think you not interested... Just be careful." Mani: "Okay. I preciate you Lai." There was a knock on Mani's door and she said "Come in." Von walked in and he was grinning at us. Me: "Wassup?" Von: "Dawg try dis." He handed me some typa candy and I stared at it before I ate it. Von: "Eat it." Me: "Da fuck is it?" Von: "Candy nigga. Just eat it😂" I took a bite and it was a fruit gusher type of candy. Von started laughing and I said "What?" Von: "You used to dat huh? 🤣" Me: "Huh?" Von: "Da candy bussed in yo mouth. You used-" Me: "Hush Von!" Mani: "Bitch-" Me: "Okay Mani... Imma have to go deal wit this. Lawd you been smokin huh?" Von: "Don't worry bout it." I walked him back and my room and sat him on the bed. He dumped out the bag he had from the store and there was all types of food in it. Von: "I ran into Durk and DaeDae at da store nd dem niggas gave me a hit off whateva they was smokin." Me: "Lawd." He started laughing then threw a bag of skittles at me. Von: "There." Me: "What is dis for?" Von: "You to eat?" Me: "You need to go to bed." Von: "I will soon. Not right na but soon." Me: "You're dumb 😭" I sat on the bed then crawled on his lap and gave him a kiss. His eyes was low and he was just laying there smiling. Me: "What is you smiling like that for? 🤣" Von: "Cus of you." Me: "What did I do?" Von: "Nothing. I can't smile?" Me: "Shut up 😂." He leaned up and gave me a kiss. Me: "I'm getting tired." Von: "Ight." I rolled off of him and got under my blanket. I reached over to cut my lamp off and I felt Von's arm around my shoulder. I cut the light off then scooted closer to him and went to sleep.
