Leia's pov
This is never gonna work. This is never gonna work, ever! I was walking down the hall way in binders with Ezra and Ventress disguised as stormtrooper and cadet. Neither armour fits either of them. So far we weren't stopped by anyone. Key words, so far! We were not even half way to Luke in his cell yet. Although the closer we move towards Luke, the more I feel cold and pain. I hope it's not Luke. I hope we're not to late. I picked up the pace and those two followed. Other troopers were giving us looks as we passed by. It was weird. It's like they could see right through me. But no one pointed us out. Good.
Ahsoka's pov
"You go check for any more life forms on board. We'll stay here."
"Sir yes sir!" The stormtroopers outside said. I was wrong before, these are not the people I used to know. These were not my brothers. What I did to them back on Lothal, thy might have been a bit overboard. But I shouldn't feel bad about killing these troopers, I must think of the countless lives their deaths will save. It walked up my ramp and I grabbed Anakin's light saber. He closed the ramp and I jumped out of my cargo vent and slashed the troopers head off. I couldn't disguise myself as a stormtrooper, my lekku would stick out to much and I'm not exactly the tallest person around. I pulled the helmet off the severed head and broke off the face of it. When I did I noticed it wasn't a clone 6th er there. It was some random person who I've never seen before, then it clicked. Thisnisnf a CT trooper! Its a TK! I pushed fhe disturhijg thought aside although i do feel a lot better about killing them now. I made sure the voice modulator worked and spoke into the broken helmet,
"Hey you down there, could you give me a hand with this?" I hid behind the wall right beside the ramp opening. Please work, please work. My ramp lowered and two troopers came up. I waited for them to shut the ramp. Unfortunately it never did. I sighed to myself. These troopers are smarter then I thought they were. I shut the ramp myself with the force.
"What was that!"
"Who did that!" They both said. They were on guard but that wouldn't stop me. I activated the saber again and cut them both down to the ground. I deactivated it and marched to the cargo hold. I looked out the tiny window, there was only 10 to 20 troopers on the main hanger. This would be a piece of cake compared to the old days. My job was to kill as many troopers as possible without looking suscpicious. And aid the others if something went wrong. Which knowing them, something will go wrong. I tapped my com link on my wrist.
"Ventress, come in Ventress."
"What is it!?! In case you forgot were a little preoccupied!"
"How's the plan goi-"
"Open up in there! Open up now!" Oh no. It's a stormtrooper, or maybe a couple of stormtroopers!
"We're almost to his cell. Be quiet!" Well at least they're doing alright. Unlike me. I grabbed the broken part of the helmet again and began to talk.
"Uhh, negative negative! Can't do that sir."
"And why not?"
"There is a... A problem with the ships controls sir. I'm working on it now."
"Are you sure? This is highly irregular for a cargo vessel like this. What's your operating number?" Alright this it. Time to go full out 'mama mode'! I activated the saber again and pulled a blaster to me that was in the cockpit. I took a deep breath and opened the door. They all gasped and aimed their blaster but I wasted no time slicing the first two. I couldn't run after the group or I would just make the mission harder. While thinking I used the force to operate a blaster which shot multiple troopers down. I noticed a trooper in particular wick had faint blue markings on his helmet and armour as well as two shoulder pads signalling he's an arc trooper. Then I looked behind him and noticed the barely visible washed up blue markings on the rest of their helmets. Some of the troopers didn't even know what was happening. I jumped and I was about to kill another one when I heard the words
"Commander Tano?" I forced myself to hold back tears as even the one who knew me fired on me. I chopped him in half and I couldn't contain it anymore, the only ones who could possibly remember me by that name, that long ago was the 501st. I was battling the 501st. No,
I was killing the 501st.
"EVERYONE STOP!!!" Most of them stopped but kept their blasters firmly in their hands.
"It is me, Commander Tano! Your Commander! Don't shoot I repeat don't shoot! I do not wish to fight any of you. At one time, so long ago we all were the best of friends. We risked our lives for each other every day on the battle field. I can't tell you how many troopers in this room have saved my life before. I also can't tell you how many troopers in this room I had personally saved from parishing. I don't want to hurt you guys, but if you fire, I won't hesitate! I will do it!" Someone stepped forward and took off their helmet.
"Jesse" He fought beside me since the beginning, but almost destroyed me and Rex at the end.
"Commander I-Im sorry. For everything." He turned back towards his men.
"Men listen to me she is not the enemy, she is a h-"
"NOOOO!!!" I screamed as someone shot him in the gut. He fell to the floor. I fell to . is side and grasped his hand. He was choking from the blaster Holt that pierced his chest. It's fives situation all over again.
"Co-commander."
"Breathe Jesse, breathe!" He choke dagaij.
"Commander you aware a hero. Don't ever let... anyone... tell you any... different." He was dead. The very last person in the 501st who actually had some speck of loyalty in their bones was gone. Forever. And now I have no choice. I must defend myself or face the consequences. And I'm not planning on dying today. I held my saber in a reverse grip and prepared for heavy fire and possibly to be shot. Hopefully just the first one though. No one fired I heard a voice whisper something. All I could make out was 'vader', whatever that was. Finally someone shot and more after him. I blocked them perfectly but stopped shooting the blaster at them. And I made sure I never took out any of them. I would occasionally force push some of them to give me a break but they'd always get back up again. Just like the boys used to. Oh wait they are the boys- right. Forgot about that for a second. They kept coming at me until finally all of them stopped firing in sync. Suddenly the alarm started blaring. I felt something coming towards me. Something cold. It was coming, he was coming.
Ventress's pov
This is my rescue party, me an old dathomirian and sith warrior with two 8 year olds with me. Yes. 9 years ago I was battling in the intergalactic war and now I'm freeing children from a cell. Yes. This is what my life has come to. We were almost there, literally a couple more steps.
"Alright Ezra, do your job." A trooper passed us and I was about to blurt out an excuse but he didn't even stop to look at me. He just ran down the hall to where we came from. Then more ran down the hall and more and more and more. Oh no Ahsoka, what did you do. The alarm started blaring. I have a bad feeling about this!
"Move it along Ezra." The little girl sassed. Finally he got it. The door slowly slid open.
Luke's pov
I was beginning to give up hope. But when the old guy in a dark suit and mask left because there was an 'important issue in the main hanger' I knew immediately who it was. I tried my best to look terrified and it worked he left. Suddenly the alarm started blaring. No doubt it was my sister and aunt. They're always getting into trouble. Suddenly my door started opening. I saw a stormtrooper and panicked.
"Chill out child! We're here to save you." She activated a yellow light saber that was hiding within her trooper armour. She cut me loose of my shock collar and hand cuffs.
"Your aunt seems to have caused some... how do I say... problematic events? Yeah those so just fit in with the crowd and run!" He nodded and we all darted out of the cell. Look out Empire, here we come!
Ahsoka's pov
The door opened and out came a dark black figure in a full body suit and mask. I looked at the mask for a brief moment I sensed sorrow and worry from the figure but it faded. And instead joy and fear replaced it. Was he afraid of me and happy at the same time? I don't even know this guy.
"At last she's returned. The failed apprentice is mine for the taking!"
"Excuse me!?! Who are you!?!"
"You are Ahsoka Tano, the former apprentice to Anakin Skywalker. You are powerful." I gave him a questioning look.
"Let's find out how powerful the apprentice really is." Without warning he charged at me. He had a bloody red light saber that looked almost identical to Anakin's hilt. Too identical for my liking. I blocked his several offensive blows but he was so strong. 'Don't hold back Ahsoka, don't hold back' a little voice in my mind said that sounded identical to this dark figure's. Luckily all the troops stopped firing on me and stood at attention. I could tell they were all ready to kill me with the pull of a trigger, literally. More and more flooded in but never shot. I force pushed him away from me at least 20 feet. He slowly walked up to me again.
"Impressive, most impressive!" He charged again. This time I won't just play the defense side. Like Master Kenobi always said, "the best defense is a swift and desisive offense'. I completed a collection of attacks and protection moves. I blocked one of his most powerful blows yet but it pulled me in closer to him. I growled slightly but he just breathed creepily. Our faces were inches away and I could feel his hatred but it wasn't for me.
"Who are you!" I growled under my breath.
"I don't answer to anyone!" Okay that angered me. I lifted him up in the air and threw him a good 50 feet into the wall. The stormtroopers readied their weapons. The so called Darth Vader got up. He jumped towards me. I tried to move only to find I couldn't. He was doing this. Oh my force. Only a few beings ever were able to use this force ability, one of them being Anakin. This Darth Vader is very powerful in the force. I'm still stuck and he is walking too close. He stopped in his path.
"What are you going to do with me!?! Hurt me? Torture me? Kill me! Just get it over with you sith scum!"
"Why would I kill such a valuable asset? Ahsoka Tano, join me and together we could rule the galaxy!" A moment of silence passed until he spoke again.
"Obi-Wan never told you what happened to your Master, did he?"
"He told me enough! He told me you killed him!"
"No Ahsoka, I am your Master!"
"No, NO!!! That's not true! That's impossible!"
"Search your feelings you know it to be true!"
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!" It can't be true! It's not true! He's lying for sure! But what if he's not. What if this monster standing before me really is Anakin? I couldn't help it I fell out of his force grasp and onto the floor. I sat on my knees and hands crying. I heard a door open from behind.
"What!?!" An- Darth Vader said. I don't know if he's Anakin yet, but I am certainly not assuming anything! A door opened from behind me and I choked back the rest of my tears.
"Auntie Soka come on let's go!" Luke shouted.
"Move it Padawan!" The troopers started firing again but Ventress stood in front of all the children blocking every single blaster shot. I quickly wiped away my tears and stood to my feet. Vader walked towards me but I ran away towards the silver sky. I successfully avoided him and any other shots. I heard a scream. It was a high pitched scream so I looked over. Leia! I tried to help her but I was met with a red light saber near my throat. I backed away from it and blocked it. Everyone was on board except me and sky girl. Luckily troopers were aiming at the ship and not us anymore. But the Silver Sky is so advanced it can deflect blaster shots. It is made of pure beskar after all. I tried to help her but I got wrapped up in the battle. I got wrapped up in showing this liar who's boss! Leia winced in pain a few times, the ships thrusters were on and they were ready to fly. Someone ran out and ran back in the ship before I could even see who they were.
"Auntie Soka come on! Leave him let's go!" Luke yelled from the ship. I listened and force pushed him back. I leaped high in the air and landed perfectly on the tip of the silver sky's platform. The hatch closed and we were off. I wanted to attend to Leia's wound but I'm afraid I'm about to pass out myself. Oh wait- here I go. My last thought before I blacked out was, "would Anakin really betray us? Would he betray the light? Would he betray me?"
Then pitch black.
Hey everyone! Happy new years day. Hopefully 2021 won't be a total screw up like 2020 haha. Anyways about something serious. Yes I stole a little scene from a new hope and made it my own. Please no one accuse me of copyright or anything okay. All rights for these characters go to Disney and lucasfilm, and dave filoni in particular. This was my first chapter filled with hard core action. I made sure not to tug at your heart strings to much but I felt everything I did in this chapter was necessary.
