Hey guys :) This is my first part and I've never written a fanfiction before so- don't judge. I haven't reviewed this yet so if there's spelling errors I apologize.
hope you enjoy <3
"Bloody Hell Jade have you lost your mind?" Layla Marshall questions the girl.
"What is it? Not a fan of my new look?" She smooths out her skin tight dress and fixes the obnoxious pearls on her neck. Jade was incredibly determined to not go to that school. She couldn't face her brother. She couldn't face his friends or hell his girlfriend if he had one.
Jade Marshall wanted nothing to do with Harry Potter.
Potter was her brother, strange because very few people knew of it. She was older than Potter, enough that she'd be a sixth year and he'd be a fifth, although she wasn't going anyways so it didn't matter. The forgotten one. It was unbelievable, even to Jade herself. The famous Lily and James potter who were just so wonderful. Like hell. They tossed her aside at birth because they 'couldn't handle' a child at the time. But they surely could handle Harry when he popped out. Jade wishes she didn't know about all of this, but her Slytherin adoptive parents are surprisingly bad at keeping secrets. Not too fitting for their house.
"We will miss the train if you don't hurry." A rough calloused hand fell on her back and shook her back into focus. "Dad I won't go. I can't." She breathes out a breath she didn't even know she was holding.
Damien Marshall, a strong man who was quick witted and charming as ever in his youth, hence how he ended up with Layla.
"Well, why not?" Also known for being one of the kindest Slytherins out there. Those two words just don't fit.
"He will be there dad-" Jade can't really find the emotion to describe how she feels. Anger, disdain, hate even — abandonment. The word is clear in her mind but she shakes it away. Jade couldn't care less about Potter or what he knows about her — if he knows about her.
"Jade! I already told you to get that skimpy outfit off! Now! And you- Damien stop entertaining her foolishness. She's going, whether Potters present or not."
"Voldemort's returned dear. so quick to assume she meant her brother?" Her father chimes in, almost like he's trying to save her.
"No, I meant that son of a bitch." The words were laced with venom.
Jade could only fiddle with her wand in her pocket before her mother tossed the word Silencio towards Jade. Satisfaction spread across the woman's face when she saw Jade's eyes narrow.
"Now dear go get changed before you miss the train. off with you." Layla motions towards the room and gives Jade a good shove to get her going. "Now you." She heads toward Damien and Jade can only have the door closed for a second before she hears curses and maybe even a hex fly out of Layla's mouth. She was surely enraged over the mention of you know who. His name was lethal on the tongue, but her father was nothing if not daring. Besides, her mother was probably most enraged that he kept talking as if the rumor was true.
Jade hardly believed it, but at the same time... a photographer had done a disgustingly fine job at capturing her brothers face as he held recently deceased student Cedric Diggory in his arms. It was a shame. She had thought the boy was rather cute, but now he's dead. He was a Hufflepuff anyways.
She looked herself over in the mirror one last time before heading off. She'd be dressed in robes soon enough anyways, hopefully Slytherin. Who was she kidding, Jade knew she was rotten she'd surely end up as Slytherin. There was no doubt.
The 9 3/4 platform was crowded with wizards who slept late, all hurrying to get on the train that was almost going by time they got there.
"Go now dear! We love you!" Jade turned one last time to meet her parents before she left — except it wasn't them she was looking at. Only for a second, she saw Lily and James smiling back at her. She wanted to vomit.
"Watch where you're going you bloody imbecile." Jade blinked twice, turning to look up at none other than Draco Malfoy. Despite being a homeschooled kid, she knew his entire families lineage.
"Screw off." Was the best response she could muster. His look was so intimidating. He wasn't dressed in robes like everyone else. Malfoy was clad in a suit? he looked formal, angular jaw and sharp eyes, always seeming so angry. Jade shoved past him and got onto the train, finding an almost empty cabin, spare two people who seemed to be Slytherins, judging by the ties loosely around their neck.
"And who do you think you are?" Jade blinked twice. This girl with raven hair and thin eyebrows was giving her attitude before she even got to get comfortable. "Jade Marshall. New student. Is my presence that much of a bother?" She mocked the girl, not enjoying her tone. The boy that was beside her couldn't help but grin. A sharp elbow met his side.
"Pansy Parkinson. It's certainly not nice to meet you." Parkinson crossed her arms over her chest. Now that Jade thought about it, she could see the features of Parkinson that were descended from her family. Despite it not being a part of the curriculum in the slightest, Jade had wanted to learn about the famous families, specifically those who were once death eaters.
"And who's your friend?" Jade looked him over, knowing it bothered Parkinson just by the way her face scrunched up. "Theodore Nott." He all but smirked at her, which admittedly made Jade go a bit red.
The entire rest of the ride was spent with Pansy complaining to Nott about Jade whilst she sat right there. Each time Pansy would make a rude comment Jade would add an extra hateful term to describe herself, not letting Parkinson have all the satisfaction.
Suddenly the train stopped and someone announced over an intercom their arrival. Jade could feel her palms growing more and more sweaty by the minute. "Get up dimwit. Unless you want to be left on the train all by your self." Pansy said it almost like an order.
Soon Jade was in front of Hogwarts. The castle was absolutely breathtaking, tall walls with pointed tips, the grounds seeming to be never-ending with her. She was in absolute awe. Jade had seen pictures but it was nothing quite like this. She probably looked like an idiot, but she was touching the smooth walls, eyes glancing down at the beautiful flagstone that graced her feet. It felt cool inside the castle, walls lined brick in some places and wood paneling in others. So lost in thought she doesn't notice bumping into a hard chest, second time today.
"What do we have here?" The tone was playful, no hint of malice. Definitely not something Jade was used to. Her eyes slowly traveled up the broad chest, a Gryffindor tie hanging from the neck of a certain ginger. "And who are you?" A similar voice chimed behind her, Jades eyes snapping to it as she realized she was sort of closed in. She felt claustrophobic, Despite being in such an open area the cologne of these two boys made her feel trapped.
"Jade Marshall." She snapped, quickly putting her guard up. She took a step back to escape their little wall she was in moments ago. "And you two idiots might be?" Her tone was almost too harsh, but the boys didn't falter, They stepped towards her in unison, slightly long ginger hair swinging as they moved. "Fred Weasley." "And George-"
Jade interrupted them with a laugh. "Weasleys? Isn't your little brother in the shadow of that Potter boy? I've seen him in the paper before. Seems to always get into business that isn't his." Every word she spoke came out with malice, unlike the boys soft and joking tones.
George had become annoyed by that, they clearly cared for Ron very much. Instead though, Fred spoke up. "You'd do well not bothering him. He's got enough on his plate this year," He clears his throat "Anyways! Are you a new girl? Ms..." George finishes for him, "Marshall."
She finds herself taking another step back. The boys together smelled of trouble, she wanted no part of that her first time here. But something about the way they looked at her told her that no matter the snarky remark that flew from her mouth, they weren't going anywhere.
"I'm new, yes." She stammers, cursing herself for being so nervous. "What's it to you?" Jade retorts.
"Well we ought to get you sorted into a house then."
