One quiet and solemn night, a prince made a choice that was so profound, it changed destiny itself. The woman recalled how her prince had gazed upon her, his would-be fairy bride, one final time, and walked, leaving her abandoned and alone.

Tonight, the moon cast a shadow upon the woman's frail frame as she fell to her knees and wept for a love long lost. It would be so simple for the woman to crumble, to go running back to his familiar arms, arms that had once held her close under starry nights. But a dream was all they had turned out to be. No matter how many kisses he bestowed gently upon her lips or the limitless number of times he whispered to her the lingering of promises broken, the woman knew in her heart that he now yearned for another.

The loss of their love was cruel and unkind, twisted and wrong, it had finally left her broken in a desolate wasteland and shut out in the dark. She promised herself that she would wander for all eternity, searching for a love that would never be. That had been his final gift to her.

The woman watched from the shadows as her no-longer prince, now King offered infinite worlds to the mortal woman cradling a tiny baby in her arms. The King was now a father to a beautiful baby girl. The Queen smiled lovingly up at her King as they announced the name of the princess that would one day rule over the kingdom.

The woman smiled darkly as she savored the name of the princess on her tongue like a delectable treat. Soon, she would have her revenge.
