Armin giggled as she and her best friend played in her father's car. He was inside of his office working on something, only leaving them for a few minutes. She watched as he came back out and got into the car, a look of thought etched into his face.
"Dad? What's wrong?" She asked him.
"Nothing, honey. What are you playing?"
It was cold. Darkness surrounded her. Her arms had goosebumps and she could feel the hairs frozen against her skin beginning to melt.
It turns out, it hadn't been nothing. Armin had snuck into her father's office and read the folder. 'Hydra' was printed in bright red letters, bolded. It scared her and she crawled out of the room. The look of anger on his face was evident.
Her body was rigid, stuck in place. But warmth was beginning to seep into the cracks around her icy shell.
"You're kidding!" She yelled. "You're just leaving?! You're going to leave me here with him!"
"Armin, honey please." Her mother tried. "It's just for-"
"No! Either you take me with you or you won't see me when you get back!"
"Just take the stupid brat." Her brother spit at his 12 year old sister. "She's a lost cause anyways. I hate her."
Her blood began pumping back through her heart, waking up her brain. Feeling was growing in her throat, and her fingers were tingling. The feeling was coming back into her body.
Armin cried as the car crashed. She should have known better! Her mother was crying out for her father, and she was laid out on the back floor. Her whole body ached like she had been hit by a train.
"Mom." She choked.
A metal hand came into her mother's window, wrapped around the woman's throat, and strangled her.
"Mom!" Armin cried as the door was pulled open. "No! Leave me alone!"
The metal arm glinted as it was raised, and the blow to her face was enough to render her unconscious.
Armin gasped as she fell out of the cryo freeze chamber. She... remembered. Her eyes met those of the Winter Soldier. The man who had done this to her. Armin had a beautiful set of golden eyes while those she stared into were icy blue.
"Night Wolf."
Her eyes snapped to those of the man who said her name. She stood up and faced him. She towered over the man and her gaze stayed locked in his. He paced back and forth in front of her before smiling so sickly sweet it made her skin crawl.
"My dear, did you dream of anything while you were sleeping?"
He waited for her answer. Out of the corner of her eyes she saw the soldier twitch. He was uncomfortable. Her gaze stayed on the man in front of her.
"You may answer, Night Wolf."
"No, sir." She told him.
He narrowed his eyes and nodded. Armin felt someone kick the back of her knee and she dropped, but did not fight back. She held onto her memories and stayed silent. The man grabbed her chin and made her look at him again.
"I said; did you dream anything?"
"No, sir." She told him.
"Did you see anything?"
"Darkness, sir."
"Did you feel anything?"
"Cold, sir."
