Chapter 8

"We should."

Hayato dropped me off at my house.

"I'll see you at 6?"

"I'll see you at 6." I said.

Kotarou and I walked inside the doors of the house. Saikawa was holding the door open for us, as usual so that's when I decided to ask for permission to go.

"Hey is it ok if I go to the firework show today that they're having at the park with Hayato and his younger brother." I ask.

"Of course, at what time do you plan on leaving?"

"At 6 Hayato said he'd come pick me up at."

"Very well, dinner is ready and already served, I'll go get your outfits ready."

"Thank you." I say bowing to Saikawa.

"Of course it's my duty."

Kotarou and I went to the kitchen to eat dinner.

I tried to listen to the advice that Hayato gave me about at least eating a tad bit of food. I only managed to eat a couple of bites before having to throw up. As soon as Kotarou finished eating I went and washed our dinner plates.

"C'mon Kotarou, lets go tidy up, so we can watch the fireworks later with Hayato and Taka-kun."

Saikawa gave us our clothes, which we shortly put on, after brushing our teeth and everything else we needed to do, so we wouldn't get our clothes dirty.

I changed Kotarou first, he was wearing a light green traditional Japanese robe, while I wore a light blue one. I checked what time it was, 5:56 P.M. already?!

I get a hold of Kotarou and make my way to the front door to wait for Hayato and Taka.

Right on the dot, I heard the bell ring.

I quickly got up, Kotarou in my arms, to open the door. Outside stood Taka-kun and Hayato. Taka-kun was also wearing a traditional robe, while Hayato was in causal wear.

"Hey Hayato!" I greeted.

"Hey."

"Is something wrong?" I ask noticing a tone difference in his voice.

"No, nothing to worry about, I just kind of feel underdressed especially seeing you like that..." He says turning his face towards the end of the sentence because of emberassed.

"It's ok Hayato-San! I wasn't planning on wearing this either until Saikawa handed it to me."

As if on cue, Saikawa walks towards us.

"Hello Hayato-Kun, Taka-kun." He says while bowing.

The other two boys greeted him back.

"I just wanted to give Ryuuichi-Kun this before you guys got going." Saikawa says handing me an envelope of money.

I bow, thanking him for the money before leaving the house.

"Do you want to go to the market before the show starts?" Hayato asks, now that we were leaving the estate.

"Yeah sure!"

Kotarou and Taka were playing in front of us. Taka was showing off his sword.

"Don't you think Taka-kun might loose the sword at the marketplace?" I ask Hayato.

"No, I don't think, I know he's going to loose it. I told him not to bring it along, but he kept insisting, so I had to let him bring it."

I nod in understandment.
