The day that starts it all

It was a perfect day in Monaco-the kind of sun-soaked afternoon that made the sea sparkle and the narrow streets glow with golden light. From her spot by the window, Bailey rested her chin in her hand, eyes scanning the coastline as her mind drifted. She was trying to come up with a new idea for her next YouTube video, but inspiration was proving stubborn today.

The apartment she shared with her best friend, Amy, was filled with the hum of life-laptops open, camera gear scattered across the living room, and half-empty coffee cups from this morning's editing session still sitting on the counter. Together, they ran a wildly popular YouTube channel that had taken the internet by storm. Bailey was a sensation on both YouTube and Twitch, and Amy was the perfect co-host: quick-witted, relatable, and always up for a challenge. The fact that Amy also happened to be Max Verstappen's younger sister added an unexpected twist to their public image-not that either of them leaned on that fact too heavily.

Suddenly, the silence broke as Amy burst into the room, a bundle of energy as always. "Hey, roomie!" she called out. "I'm heading over to Max's tonight. You wanna come?"

Bailey turned away from the window, a slight frown tugging at her brow. "I don't know... we still have a ton of editing left to do."

Amy rolled her eyes playfully, walking further into the room. "Bailey, come on. You need to get out more. It's literally perfect outside, and Max finally has some time now that the season's over. It won't kill us to finish editing tomorrow."

Bailey sighed, tapping her fingers on the windowsill before giving a half-hearted shrug. "I guess you're right. Fine, I'll come-but only after we finish the rough cut. Deal?"

Amy grinned triumphantly. "Deal."

They laughed and returned to their laptops, falling into a comfortable rhythm of editing clips, adjusting audio levels, and choosing thumbnail images. After nearly an hour of focused work, Bailey stretched her arms over her head and groaned. "Okay, I think we've earned some food."

"Finally," Amy said with a grin, already pulling up the food delivery app on her phone.

Twenty minutes later, their apartment smelled like fresh fries and garlic sauce. They sprawled out on the couch, food containers spread across the coffee table as they chatted about everything from F1 gossip to ridiculous viewer comments from their latest upload.

Once their dinner was demolished, Bailey stood up and brushed her hands on her sweatpants. "Alright, give me like ten minutes. I'm gonna hop in the shower real quick."

"Take your time," Amy called out as Bailey darted toward the bathroom.

While Amy waited, she tidied up the living room a bit, checking her phone and smiling at a text from Max: Don't be late, I've actually cleaned for once.

True to her word, Bailey reappeared ten minutes later, hair still damp, dressed casually but cute in jeans and a breezy top. "Okay, I'm ready," she said, grabbing her phone and keys.

The two of them headed out, locking the door behind them before sliding into Amy's car. With the top down and the breeze warm against their skin, they drove along the scenic streets of Monaco, music playing softly in the background as the sun began to dip lower in the sky.

The day was winding down, but something about it still buzzed with possibility.
