nini woke up seeing that there was a blanket over her and she looked to the side to see the clock reading the time.

9:00pm

her curfew is ten, which is lucky for her.

she's only been sleeping for four hours and she already feels better

she looked around the room to see it dimly lit with ricky sitting in the far corner humming to himself as he writes down in his notebook

his eyes shift up when he senses movement and sees nini sitting up and stretching her arms

"how do you feel?" he chuckles, closing the book

she sighs "pretty good actually,"

he nods with a smile "good. you scared me." he admits

nini smiles sheepishly "sorry." she mumbles

ricky shakes his head "it's okay. you seem better now."

she nods and looks at his book, the one she notices he has with him everywhere all the time

"what do you write in there?" she asks before she could stop herself

he looks at her and widens his eyes slightly "uh-nothing-"

"oh come on," she laughs "you're always writing in it."

she stands up and makes her way to him, pulling a chair to sit next to the boy

"you'll think it's dumb." he says simply

she sits up straight "try me,"

they hold eye contact for a few seconds before ricky takes a deep breath

"fine,"

he stands up, taking his guitar before sitting back down, seeing nini raise her eyebrows in interest

she looks at how he opens up his book and puts it on the little stool in front of them, the guitar notes and different lyrics scribbled around

"okay, so you can't make fun of me," he tells her firmly

she nods with a small smile and sees as he starts to strum the guitar, the melody he's been humming in full sound

nini's smile widens in surprise and awe when she hears him singing and shifts in her seat, continuing to listen to his voice

he looks at her as he sings and smiles to himself while he continues to, feeling a sense of comfort and familiarity as he performed in front of her

this voice and unclear sight

he continues to play the melody before finishing with one more strum and nini beams at him

"that was amazing ricky," she exclaims

the boy laughs lightly and nods "thanks, it's not finished though."

she shrugs her shoulders "it's still really good." a smirk forms on her face "so, this has to be about someone right?"

he grins "you're full of questions aren't you?"

she nods "yup!"

ricky shakes his head with a smile and takes a deep breath "i-i heard this girl singing a while ago, and-i can't get her voice out of my head."

nini smirks "so, who is she?"

he sighs "i-i don't know..."

"so you're crushing on a girl you've never met or seen?" she asks confused

ricky shakes his head "it's not that-it's-she made me remember why i loved music and just made me feel like me."

nini smiles "well, i hope you find her." she chuckles "maybe it's one of those cheerleaders that throw themselves at you."

ricky smirks and cocks an eyebrow "is that jealousy i hear?"

she rolls her eyes playfully "jerk."

"well, i mean i get it-"

he gets cut off by nini playfully shove him and they both laugh before she checks her phone

"oh i should go," she says, standing up and taking her stuff "thanks. for-"

he nods "no problem."

they smile to each other once more before she closes his door behind her and leaves his house

ricky shakes his head with a small laugh as he puts his guitar down and looks down at his notebook, taking a deep breath

he needed to find this girl.
