Lamina sat beside her mother on the bed she knew her mother was I'll and she didn't really want to leave tonight but since it's about work she had no option, Lamina hates to leave her mother alone but if she doesn't look after her mother no one will.
"Mom im sorry i really got to run i don't want to be late,but I'll be back home soon i promise and you know you can call me if you need" Lamina say to her mother as he mother only nods and squeezed her hand
"It's okay lamina don't overthink it's work i understand and I'll be fine so don't worry just go out okay" Lamina mother replied but lamina only gave a worried smile
"Mom im serious if you need me you should call, beside the work party won't be that long cause tomorrow everyone needs to go to work as well" lamina replied and stood up as her mother smiled
"Well enough about that you look quite stunning tonight that green dress does fit you well, just enjoy yourself for once" Lamina mother replied,lamina nods and knew her mother also wished for her to be happy in her own ways, Lamina smiled and soon left home,calling a cab and taking it to the karaoke restaurant that her workplace booked for the entire evening
Lamina liked the green tight dress she had on she knew it will catch some eyes when she arrives but that is not really her intention her intention is more to look elegant since the CEO of the company will arrive soon and that's kinda of a big deal since no one ever saw him face to face so this party was going to be one big surprise to everyone not only her.
When lamina arrived at the restaurant it was dark outside and a bit chilly as well she climbed out and took a deep breath as she walked inside to see all her colleagues drinking talking and singing and eating as well. She could smell the smoke in the air and the alcohol mixed with it as she walks over to the bar and sat down fixing her green dress while feeling eyes watching her, she knew everyone must be feeling a bit shocked to see her this way cause she usually wears baggy clothes hiding her curves behind it.
"Look who it is we didn't expect to see you all dressed up this way you look different" Zoe her colleague and also the bitch everyone knows say
"Oh thanks alot Zoe I will take that as a compliment" lamina replied she had a mouth of her own she wouldn't keep quite for anyone who is rude to her
"Oh look like you are trying to be the apple of every guys eye tonight well to me you look like a tree" Zoe say,annoyed lamina stood up with her drink that the bartender gave her, she looked Zoe dead in the eye not really caring, but Zoe was really pretty she was quite tall and blond waring a red tight short dress
"Does it look like I care to look like a fucking tree? because I'm sure it's quite the opposite" lamina say as she looked around seeing all her male colleagues watching her from head to toe, with that lamina walked of sit on a couch and be in peace she didn't really feel like arguing with someone who acts so high and almighty.
