Bearded Dragon A formidable looking lizard, the bearded dragon from the dry interior of Australia has spiny dkin to protect itself from predatorsZ The beard under the chin expands to make a the dragon look even more scary. Bearded Dragons feed on a variety of food including insects, bird eggs, newborn small mammals, and some dew-soaked plants. Bearded Dragons are active in the early morning and the late afternoon. During the heat of the day, they often climb into shrubs where it's cooler.

Gila Monster The Gila Monster is one of only three. (Monitor Lizards, and Komodo Dragon) in the world with a venomous bite. The bite is seldom fatal to humans but it causes immense pain. The Gila Monster lives in the Mojave and Sonoran Deserts. Gila monsters are mainly active at night, feeding on small mammals, snakes and lizards.
