A choked sob broke from his throat as he turned his attention away from the journal. Burying his face back in the pillow, clutching onto the crystal.
The shadow laid down beside the pig and human, keeping the journal close by.
"The fuck do you mean! You tellin' me that your daddies got one of the craziest bastards at his control now!?" Husk's yelling was abruptly cut by the hand of Rosie.
"Now now Husk...perhaps Charlie has a solution to this." Rosie looked at Charlie who sat across from them on the opposing couch.
Her eyes cast down, unable to look at them. The young princess appeared lower than she ever had before. It may have been too late already..."There's nothing we can do." She muttered. "From my understanding from the books in daddies library...the bond between two soulmates is so deep that if it's broken it could destroy the mental state." Her voice was weak as she explained.
Husk grumbled, crossing his arms. "Great. Just fuckin' great. Your daddies gonna fuck us all over with the bastard." He growled under his breath.
Rosie frowned, despite her calm demeanor she was just as angry with Charlie as Husk. But bickering and fighting would do nothing. She remembered how the princess had explained to her just what happened. How Lucifer would allow the bonds to form and deepen only to appear at the perfect time and rip them apart. And with the freshly shattered mind, it was ripe for the picking of a new bodyguard.
The thought was enough to want to bear her own teeth.
"Are you certain there is no other way?" Rosie pressed.
Charlie was hesitant, looking down into her teacup though none of it had been touched. Her stomach unable to handle it. "There is..but," she paused.
"But what. Spit it out." Husk pressed, her patience running thin, wings and feathers puffing up from the anger building.
Charlie chewed on her lip, "I dunno for certain if it would even work." She mumbled.
"Anything is worth a try right now," Rosie assured.
Charlie sighed, calming herself. "Because father uses the human partners to usually break the bond-and the other half mind-...maybe they can also restore the bond?" She shifted uncomfortably in her chair under the gaze of the other two.
"That's fucking impossible!" Husk said slamming a claw on the table.
"I have to agree with Husk.." Rosie shook her head. "His partner is human...I'm not sure if they could even set foot in hell. Much less want to. I can't imagine it would work if their not willing.."
Charlie fell silent once again, knowing Rosie was right.
They needed Alastor's partner to restore the demon's broken mind. The only one who could was not even in their world.
The bell to Rosie's shop suddenly chimed all three turning their attention. The shop was closed so it made no sense.
Their hearts sunk to see the devil himself walking in the door. The grin on his face larger than normal as his gaze settled upon his daughter. "Well hello everyone." He greeted chipperly. "My what a lovely shop." He twirled his cane. "Charlie sweetie there you are, if you are done playing it's time you return back to the castle."
