Prologue

Wearing my sparkling dress, I went to see myself in front of the mirror. Am I beautiful enough? I kept on asking myself that question not until my father shows up.

"Where is my girl going?" He asked me while raising his two eyebrows.

"At the goodbye party of our batch, Dad," I simply replied, lying.

He just nodded and complimented me by saying that I look gorgeous and I inherited my good looks from him. When he left the room, I immediately called my buddy for today. I am not going to school, I am going somewhere else, on a date? Maybe? Is it even a date, I have no idea.

"You look awesome and your dress is quite amazing Ali!" hearing that from him makes me happy.

"Thank you, Jared," I said with a smile and kissed him on his cheek.

He held my hand and we went to the middle of a garden, I think? It was as if we were walking down the aisle. This looks peaceful than ever, I can't quite believe that he's with me tonight.

"You like this?" He asked, nervously and I nodded immediately.

"I don't even know where I am right now," I followed that with a small laugh.

"You're here," he said pointing to the place where his heart is.

"Korni mo," I said in Tagalog.

At the end of that long aisle of that garden, there is an enchanting view of the moon. The sound of the silence calmed me down. We sat on the bench and he leaned my head on his shoulder.

I can't describe in words how happy I was that night. We ate in a crowded place but it seemed like we were the only ones there, we laughed while talking, we enjoyed that one night of freedom. I never regretted not going to the last day of the school year of our batch because he was with me.

But that one night made my life miserable. He left me with no words after that. He disappeared out of nowhere. I woke up to the news that he had a girlfriend. What was even sadder there was I thought, there was something between the two of us. I relied on the motive he showed because I thought I was special. I thought, our relationship is more than just friends.

I didn't know that I was the only one left. Now that I am going to school again after months of crying over him, can I still talk to him while remembering our past? The answer is, of course, I don't know.
