================================================================================
"I never believed that the day would come when I would wield my sword to eliminate one of my best disciples. " Declared the man as he continued to pierce the neck of the current hashira. " I will live bearing your resentment, demon .."
"Master." Whispered the young man while his mind, now a little clearer, traveled through his memories, going back to the first days he lived with his Master who was now ending his life.
[Flashback]
"Master." Whispered a boy who two days ago had been taken to Urokodaki, current pillar of water. " Why do demons hurt people? "
" That is why I feel sorry for those little beings ... they cannot avoid their instincts." He replied while stroking his head. " That is the reason why we hunt them."
" Hunt them?" He asked confused.
"Demon hunters exist for this ... do you understand Giyuu? "The man knelt in front of him and placed his hand on his shoulder . "From now on you too will be a hunter."
[End Flashback]
"A demon that bites its companion cannot become anything other than an enemy," he declared as he stared into his eyes.
Kocho was really scared with everything that was happening around her.
"Tomioka-san! " Desperate cry when she heard a loud moan escape from Giyuu's lips as the katana fell from his neck to his chest.
" Although it doesn't seem like it because of its regeneration capacity, the cut of the Nichiri is extremely painful, right Tomioka?" His gaze was now directed for a few seconds towards the insect pillar and then, seeing that the boy's eyes lost their characteristic shape and brightness, he removed the weapon from within him. " Tomioka .. if you feel thirsty for blood, do you have...."
Giyuu's eyes widened at the impact of his words and then closed slightly because of how depressed he felt. Blood flowed from Kocho's hand without stopping, and that was his fault again. He couldn't bear that feeling, no matter how hard he tried, he always ended up hurting his partner.
Understanding what the master wanted to get at with his question, he decided to take one last look at Shinobu who was a few meters from him. As he wished the circumstances were different ... But there was no going back.
"I don't have it," he answered with difficulty, he knew what his answer meant, therefore, he prepared himself to receive the final cut.
Seeing the katana of the ex-pillar rise Kocho understood what was happening between them, that complicit language between disciple and teacher.
Giyuu's response was condemning him.
The touch of the Nichiri never came, with a defiant look the insect hashira had wrapped her arms around her partner, hiding his head on her shoulder. She would not allow the man to harm him.
"Urokodaki-sama, I don't know what kind of mission you have been entrusted with but I cannot allow you to decide for yourself Tomioka-san's thoughts and future actions ... " She was completely determined, even though her legs were still trembling with fear and from her hand that reddish liquid did not stop pouring out, it was not in her plans to stand aside or move away from that demon. " I will not let Tomioka-san die! "
