(This is now a completely different book lol)

As the school bell rings, I grab my large backpack and sling it over my shoulders. I sigh and grab my work for math balling it up and throwing the paper away on my way out, knowing damn well I was gonna need it tomorrow but not really caring.

My names Josh, I'm in my second year of highschool. And I fucking hate this place, but at least it's better then home where it smells like beer and B.O from my dad. All he ever does is sit on that old stained recliner and drink his life away, and then proceeds to take it out on my little sister.

I want to do something about it, but he's strong whenever he has alcohol in his system. I keep having to talk to Elizabeth's school about the bruises on her poor fragile body. They threaten that if anything is going on at home they'll find out.

I walk out from the school, making my way home. I hear yelling and crying coming inside, opening the door to see my little sister on the floor, a large bruise on her tear stained cheeks. I reach down and snatch her up off the floor, quickly running up the steps and to my room locking the door before dad could come in.

As he screams and kicks my door, I hold her in my arms tightly comforting her. My hand reaches down and softly caresses her cheek making her flinch and scream. I shush her, laying her in my bed and tucking her in. "I'm sorry princess." I say quietly kissing her head gently. "We're gonna get out of here sooner or later." I whisper to myself.
