Chapter 6
“A nymph.” I said truthfully.
“A nymph?” Nanlaki ang mga mata niya.
“Yes. I am the nymph of Dawn. Nymphs are caretakers of nature.” I was immediately enveloped by my aura. A faint light of different colors swarming around me like the colors of what human called aurora borealis.
“Totoo pala kayo?” I saw him blinked as he looked at me. But I admire him for his courage dahil hindi siya natakot sa akin. Namamangha pa siya.
“Oo. Kasing totoo ng mga kaluluwang nakikita mo.”
“Akala ko ang mga nymphs ay parang kasinlaki lang ni Thumbelina. Kamukha din pala kayo ng tao?” Tuwang tuwang sabi niya. A grin never left his face.
“Humans and their stupidities.” I bluntly commented. Hanggang ngayon hindi pa din ako makapaniwala na sa isang tao ako nagmahal. Baka sinumpa ako, hindi kaya?
“Hoy! Magdahan dahan ka nymphora, tao ang kausap mo and humans are superiors.” I rolled my eyes at him. And they cannot accept the fact that they are stupid. At ano daw? Superior? I wanted to laugh. He hadn’t seen superior yet.
“Superior ba kamo?” I smiled and looked at him as he floated in mid air. Nanlaki ang mga mata niya.
“Anong ginagawa mo?”
“I will try to throw you out of that window.” I smiled sarcastically at him and he gaped at me.
“Kung superior ka kaysa sa akin, try to stop me.”
“Ibaba mo na ako.” I grunted as I did put him down against my will. I would love to play him further pero baka maparusahan na ako. Naisip ko kasi hindi naman siguro masamang ibato ko siya sa bintana pero hindi ko naman siya pababagsakin sa lupa para hindi naman siya masakatan. Just enough to scare him off kasi mukhang walang takot ang taong to sa isang katulad ko.
“Humans, are frail and dumb.” Yet he have the power to command me. Pero siyempre hindi niya yun malalaman at sana hindi niya madidiscover yun.
“Grabe ka. Harvard graduate ako tapos sasabihan mo akong dumb?” Tumawa ako. Intelligent in humans are measured by the degree you’ve taken and the institutions you’ve attended.
“Well, you’re quite intelligent in human standard but you’re still numb in our standard.”
“Oh eh di kayo na. Kayo na ang matatalino.” He snorted. This guy really have guts. Napangiti ako. Not bad for a human. He doesn’t look bad either. In fact, he is quite attractive even for our standard. And his eyes. I don’t want to look into his eyes. It is drowning me.
“That’s because you’re memory is short term.”
“Di kaya! Bakit ako naalala ko ang mga nangyari kahit ilang taon na ang nakalipas.”
“Ilang taon?”
“5 years.” Proud na sabi niya and I laughed. My laughter echoes around the room at nakita ko siyang ngumanga. Parang ngayon lang niya ako nakitang tumawa. If I am not mistaken, he’s even mesmerized. A very human reaction.
“That’s a very short term.” Natatawa pa ding sabi ko.
“Ano pala ang long term sayo? A lifetime?”
“We don’t have a lifetime James.” I said truthfully. I don’t even consider our existence as a life. Life are for humans.
“Huh?”
“We’re immortal.”
“What? You don’t die?” I wonder how much he could take in. For a normal human being baka nahimatay na pero siya? He’s like a sponge, hungry for information. Absorb lang ng absorb.
