A Clearing In The Woods

There's a patch of woods where I've been going recently during school hours, mainly my fourth and sometimes my fifth period. I don't have a car so it's easily in walking distance. After a short walk through the treeline, you can take a right and continue for another short way before finding this small clearing. The clearing isn't anything big or fairy tail-like. That's why it's special to me. On the edge of the clearing rests a tree knocked down by a recent hurricane. The tree top rests barely on a thicket of vines and brush. It is steady enough to climb on top of it and sit or lay down. Looking down from a safely high place may not sound like much, but looking down onto the clearing and into the thicket that would now be eye level is something that brings me peace of mind. Listening to the silence is something quiet. I'll definitely be going there again tomorrow.
