Dumbledore stood in the astronomy tower looking at the sky. He's been watching for days. At first, he had a small feeling, a chill, not too strong, creeping up his spine. The chill has grown colder over the past few months, till earlier this week when it suddenly became not a chill but a warmth. That's when he knew.

He had been suspecting for a while now but, the evidence hasn't appeared till now. He watched the tiny dot move closer across the sky. Mercury. It had been moving slowly for a while now. Creeping across the sky, slowly but surely. It was way too early. This shouldn't be happening now it's- Dumbledors thoughts were interrupted by the clicking of heels on the Astronomy towers stairs. He knew who it was without turning around.

"Minerva, what a pleasantry," Dumbledor muttered, eyes still pinned on the sky. Minerva stepped closer, exhausted.

"Albus, what on Earth are you doing up here?" She said in a harsh whisper, fearful of being too loud, one never knows what's listening after all. He still hasn't turned around, only humming in reply.

"Albus, what are you looking at '' tired of the man's unresponsiveness, she looks up at the sky, only to become winded when she sees the planet lock into place. A slight shift in the atmosphere as it did so. "Oh merlin no! It's too early-" She was still whispering this time softer, more frightened. She was cut off by Albus.

"5000 years too early," he said with his eyes still locked on the planet. "I wonder why? Why now?" He took his eyes off of Mercury only to look around the tower as he wracked his brain for answers that were not there.

Minerva met his eyes with fear. "What do we do Albus? We-"

Cut off by Albus once again. "Nothing. There is nothing we can do but wait. Besides, it will be years before the moon takes its place. We have till then to prepare." He's so sure, but there's nothing they can do, it was bound to happen, granted it was supposed to be in 5,000 years but that's beside the point.

"The first years come tomorrow, it's best to get some rest, Minerva." He started to make his way across the tower towards the stairs.

"Albus you can't be serious-" He stopped in his tracks. He turned his head slightly but not enough for her to see his full face, just the knowing glint in his eye.

"In due time Minerva, In due time." He walks into the darkness of the stairwell tower. Leaving Minerva to watch the sky with worry in her eyes.
