Quinn stared at the field covered with ash, smoke and soot desperately trying to spot her lover. She had no such luck. "We've gotta turn back!" Quinn's twin sister, Gwen stated. "Hate to say it but you won't be getting so lucky this time". Quinn's eyes filled with tears. "What happens if she is alive? What happens if she is trying to find us? I can't loose her!". Quinn felt like running into the smoke trying to find her beloved Clove. Gwen grabbed her sisters shoulder and guided her back home, to safety. And Quinn just lost her soulmate.

After they were out of her sight range, Clove climbed out of the hole she had been hiding in. She shook her black hair to make sure she didn't have any remains of anything around. She was covered in dust, making her skin appear a sickly grey. There had been a bombing. From what everyone knew, Gwen, Quinn and Clove were the only survivors. Well, they didn't know Clove was alive. So everyone only thought the twins were the lone survivors. This was fine by Clove, for it was too dangerous for Clove to be around Quinn as much as she loved her.

The two had met in 6th grade. Quinn is now 15, Clove is 16. Clove was Quinn's gay awakening. Clove showed her it was okay to love who you love (as long as it's legal). The two became a couple in the 8th grade and had been in-love ever since. This is why it was so hard for Clove to make the right choice. On one side, the two could flee to Iceland together where they wouldn't be found for a long time. On the other hand, Clove could fake her death and crush her girlfriend's heart and probably make her suicidal but at least she would be safe from Clove and her... destructive tendencies. Obviously the second one was a better option. The reason Clove is dangerous is because of these little tangents she would go on where she would start destroying everything in her path. Many people wanted her dead. She was fine when she was with Quinn... usually.

Her latest tantrum was the reason everyone thought she was dead. Before the bombs, Clove was super upset and accidentally snapped at Quinn. She couldn't bare to see her after that. She was terrible! What happened if Quinn didn't forgive her? What happened if she snapped at Quinn again? She couldn't bring herself to put Quinn through that.

Clove finally choose a direction to take off in. It was the opposite direction as the city was. She knew what she was doing. She also knew she had to forget about her old life and move on. She knew it was the best for everyone. It pained her to do so but she must, for Quinn.

-5 years later-

She quickly walked through the large crowd. She had a black hoodie on, hood was up and her face was mostly hidden. Except her eyes. Clove's eyes were showing. She was on her way to her doctors office. She had to get there without recognition. All of a sudden, someone accidentally clipped her shoulder. "I'm sorry!" An almost fearful voice said. That voice... it was so familiar it was scary. Then it hit her. "It's fine" Clove said very quietly unsure if Quinn even heard her. Quinn just stood there watching the strange person walk away. Her grey eyes, those beautiful grey eyes were so familiar. They were so similar to..."she isn't dead!". Everyone turned and stared at Quinn. Quinn bolted through the crowd to try and find Clove. She had no luck. As it lead to a ally way with a dead end.

Quinn stared at the wall. She felt a wet drop on her cheek. She realized she had started to cry. Who wouldn't though? The girl they loved, the one they thought was dead was so close, close enough to reunite with and she was torn from her again. Quinn collapsed and just cried. She looked up and saw a balcony. Clove was standing on it talking to a man. The man handed her a bottle full of pills. Quinn knew it was Clove's prescription. "Clove!" Quinn yelled out

. Clove looked down and realized Quinn had followed her. This wasn't supposed to happen. They were supposed to never see each other again. They were supposed to forget about each other. Now Quinn knew that Clove wasn't dead. Now Quinn was going to try tracking her. Clove ran inside the building and down the stairs. She had to get away from this mess. She opened the door and there was no Quinn in sight. She started walking the way she had came not thinking about it. With this stupid error, Quinn saw her. She started chasing Clove. At this point, she just wanted answers to why she disappeared. Clove realized she was being chased and bolted through the crowd. When Quinn realized Clove started to run, she picked up the pace. She was slowly gaining on Clove.

The chase lasted about 5 minutes. Soon, the two of them couldn't run any longer so Quinn slowed down. She realized Clove was still running. "Slow down, you're going to pass out" Quinn shouted. Clove kept running. Little did Quinn know was that Clove was crying. She didn't want to leave her but she must. It hurts as much as it did six years ago. Her vision started to get blurry. The last thing she remembered was tumbling to the ground.

She woke up on a couch that was oddly familiar to her. She suddenly realized it was the couch in Quinn's room. Almost everything was the same. Quinn walked in the door and looked over at Clove. Ah, you're alright!" Quinn's face quickly grew into a warm smile. "Quinn, I left for a reason. I had you in mind while making it and I realize it was the best option." Tears were in both of their eyes. Quinn seemed to be angry "Why would you leave then? I feel incomplete without you!". At this point, Quinn was sobbing. "It was the best thing to do. I didn't want to hurt you again" Clove said rather calmly even though she was about to break down. Quinn looked over at her with rage "The best thing for me was to make me feel like everything had been stripped away from me and make my world fall apart?" Quinn was full on yelling as she said that. It pained Clove to see her so upset. "Look, I've got to leave. I can't have people know I'm here with as much as everyone here hates me." Clove got up and started towards the door but Quinn blocked it. "You just got back, you can't leave!"

She was obviously upset that her beloved would leave right after getting back. But this was extreme even for her. Clove reached down and kissed her forehead. "It's not like I want to dear, I just don't want you caught in the crossfire of one of my fits." Quinn looked up at her "they never bother me, it hurts seeing you upset but I know you mean well". Clove was upset that Quinn saw this as 'okay'. Clove, when having one of these rage moments, felt as if she was more than capable of hurting an entire army and Quinn saw that as okay.

Which was terrible.

The two just kind of stared at each other in silence. "I love you but this is not okay Quinn. Our relationship could get really toxic with my issues and I refuse to put you through that." While it hurt Clove to say it was true. "That was only one time. And you didn't lay a hand on me!" Quinn snapped. She wanted Clove to realize how much it pained her for them to be apart but she didn't realize it was worse for Clove because she knew Quinn was alive and well. She knew she could go back to her if she wanted. But she controlled herself. She knew it was best.

Clove realized Quinn wasn't going to move and she didn't want to move her right now so she just sat down. Now she had to find an escape.
