Chapter 21 - Stares

"Oh, you're crying now? What a big baby."

Lia's eyes flickers at Soobin different tone, this is definitely not the Soobin she knows and loves. "Cut the act, you're just trying to make me the bad guy here." he said, and that's when a tear slipped from her eye. "You really changed after the break up, didn't you?"

Ryujin grits her teeth and clenches her jaw, "Guys, I think-" before she could finish, Lia walks off to her room. "Great, the one time I want to hangout is the time you fight." a whisper from Kai interrupted the three people standing. "Kai, I'm sorry but I don't control anything that is bound to happen and neither can I change it."

And just like that, their sleepover is ruined.

The next morning, Soobin was found in the kitchen with Yeji and a cup of chocolate milk in his hand. Yeji could only watch as Soobin took small sips from the cup, she can see the drowsiness in his actions. She suspects it was because he didn't get to sleep much that night.

"You want coffee?" she asked, finally breaking the comfortable silence that lingered around them for quite a while. He shakes his head, "Not my forte." he said, a scowl on his face at the thought of coffee. Yeji chuckles, "Yeah, but it'll definitely wake you up." she stated.

She waits for barely one second and then goes to make coffee before Soobin could even protest, "I'm making you one, and you'll drink it whether you like it or not." she exclaimed with a sly smirk. Soobin raises his hands up saying that he surrenders.

Just then, Lia walks in and quickly walks past him, grabbing a glass of water before making her way to the couch and pulling out her phone to keep herself busy. Soobin could tell that she was avoiding him completely, but what else can he do?

"Here," Yeji said as she places a cup of hot coffee in front of him. "I'll be in my room if you need anything." she announced before sprinting to the direction of where all the rooms were located, leaving Lia and Soobin together. He figured that it'd be better if they just talk this out now, then to just avoid each other their whole lives.

"Hey.." he started, turning around as he had his back facing her earlier. Lia bluntly glances at him before humming in response, "You know, I didn't mean any of those things I said last night.." he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "I know."

He confusedly gazes at her, "If you know, then why avoid me?" he asked, to which Lia only pursed her lips at. The two stay silent; Soobin was waiting for Lia to answer, while she was just staring at her fingers in her lap. "Because of the way you said that you used to love me."

He moves his gaze to somewhere else other than her for a second, before turning back to her with a soft smile. "Is it not true?" the girl shrugs her shoulders, "You tell me.." she muttered. Soobin could sense the sadness in her voice, "Jisu, we both agreed to break up. Why are you suddenly sad?" he questioned, eyebrows knitting in confusion.

Sometimes, Soobin just wishes he could understand how a girl's mind works..

Lia shakes her head, "It's dumb.. Nothing to worry about." she mumbled and sips from the glass in her hand. "You sure?" she nods. Although he wasn't entirely convinced, he just shrugged it off since he didn't want to make the situation more awkward than it already is and he doesn't want to force her in any type of way.

Soobin turns his head towards the cup of coffee that was still on the table, he slowly holds the cup in his hands and takes a sip. He couldn't even describe the bitterness, "Does Yeji drink coffee?" he asked Lia, and she hums. "With no sugar, whatsoever?!" Lia gives him a puzzled expression before shaking her head.

"That girl's a devil!" he exclaimed, putting the coffee back on the table. "She intentionally did not put sugar in this.." Lia just chuckles at him.

"Yah.."

Ryujin shook Beomgyu's shoulder to wake him up, but to no avail since he sleeps like a baby. Eventually, she got to smacking him instead and it still didn't do anything. So, she finally sits on the edge of her bed, thinking of ways to wake the dead asleep boy on her bedroom floor.

She stands up and grabs his legs, flailing them. "Wake. Up. You. Dead. Corpse!" she yelled between each breath. Beomgyu finally stirs awake, his eyes barely open as he stares at the girl. "What are you even doing?"

Ryujin stops and turns around, "Finally!" she said, dropping his legs. "Ouch.." Beomgyu half-heartedly exclaimed when his legs hit the floor, creating a muffle thud. Ryujin takes a deep breath before pulling him up, so now he's sitting. "I don't wanna get up.."

She snorts at his comment, "I do too, but we can't just sleep in all day. Plus, it's like one in the afternoon." he tunes her out and yanks on her waist, pulling her down into his arms. "Five more minutes.. Okay?" he mumbled into her back.

She couldn't help but blush at that, all she could do was lay there in his arms for exactly five minutes and then wake him up again. Well, that definitely backfired as she actually fell into slumber with him.
