Amber Leia Mitchells, to put it simply, didn't know how to have fun.

She was quite possibly the most boring person in the entire universe.

However, she was in fact just reserved. If you wanted a reaction out of her, you had to make her care.

And she never usually cared.

So if I were to actually put it simply, Amber Leia Mitchells didn't like people.

"You didn't hear a thing I just said, did you," the girl said.

"What? Yeah, of course I did! You were talking about... you know... stuff..?" Amber replied, attempting to cover up the fact that for the last five minutes she had been contemplating whether or not she could tell Allie to shut up without seeming rude.

"You weren't listening." Allie said, a deadpan look on her face.

"I am insulted you would ever think that! Just repeat the whole thing you said, and then I'll know exactly what you just told me about," Amber said, only gaining an exasperated sigh from her best friend. Allie's shoulders sagged, and she fell backwards onto Ambers bed.

"Look, never mind, I'll tell you tomorrow," Allie said, taking out her phone. She rolled her eyes, then put it back in her pocket.

"My mum wants me home now," she said, standing up, and walking towards Ambers bedroom door. "See you tomorrow?"

"Yeah," Amber replied, standing up and following Allie out to the front door.

"I'll call you at midnight?" Allie asked.

Amber smiled. "Definitely."

Allie opened the door, and yelling a goodbye to whoever else was in the house, and slammed it behind her. Amber walked back to her room.

She was turning sixteen the next day, and was not happy about it. She wanted to still be seven. Amber turned to look at her "wall of memories". It was mostly pictures of her and Allie, with a few superheroes scattered all over, and one picture of her and her brother together in the centre. She had numerous bookcases along her wall, and because the high ceilings, all up her wall as well. On her other wall she had bunkbeds built into her wardrobes, along with a desk and a few more bookshelves.

She closed her door and changed into a pair of pyjamas with cute bunnies on the front. They had been her favourites since she was actually seven.

Even she couldn't understand how they still fit her when she was almost sixteen, and tall for her age.

Amber picked up her laptop off her desk, and climbed into bed. It was only three o'clock but she couldn't be bothered to do anything.

Just as she was about to settle in, she remembered about snacks. She placed her laptop to the side, climbed out of bed, and ran to the kitchen.

After a sufficient raid for nachos and orange juice, she made her way back to her room, where her laptop was waiting.

She clambered back into bed, and began the long wait to midnight.
