Ruby left her boyfriend of two years sleeping alone in their king sized bed as she typed away at the files surrounding her latest investigations with the DEA. It was two am but she felt not an ounce of tiredness, she actually felt wired as if she could do this twenty four seven just as long as she had a cigarette and her favorite mug filled to the brim with the hottest Colombian coffee around. She quietly murmured details about her case to herself revising over and over so busy and engaged she had no idea her boyfriend Favian was standing at her doorway.
"Baby, it's really late. You have work in a few hours, you should get some rest don't you think?" Favian suggested to her.
Ruby only flicked her cigarette and took another drag. "Would you believe me if I said I wasn't tired?"
Favian shook his head. "I'd believe you if you'd go get checked out for that insomnia you have, I don't know maybe get prescribed something? I just don't think its healthy to stay up this late glued to your laptop."
Ruby closed her lap top and ashed the cigarette. "I'll stop for now and go lay with you but if I'm still awake by the time you're back to sleep I'm coming right back here." She said giving him a kiss on the cheek. "Come, lets go."
Ruby laid in bed with her eyes wide open staring into the darkness of their bedroom. Her mind didn't want to rest, it stayed in full gear producing thoughts and comments all surrounding her latest case. The Alvarez brothers. She was determined to capture them, and after she had accomplished that she'd move on to take down the Kings of Kings the most powerful drug cartel in Colombia and although they were more rewarding then the brothers she wanted the brothers at all cause and by all means. Her devotion to make it a reality all came from the moment her father was murdered in the hands of one of their hitman. This was personal.
Ruby had spent the last four years of her life investigating them. She studied them down to their last movement and felt she was ready to get down and dirty. It had suddenly came to her. A sting operation with her in the crossfire, her plan seemed to work in her mind as she weighed out the pros and cons. More cons then pros but she'd risk it all if it meant she'd get the Alvarez brothers. It'd be the biggest bust since Escobar and Chapo. It'd be a part of history and it would be known world wide, and her dad would be there smiling down on her from the skies. Proud.
She looked over at her sleeping boyfriend and quietly rolled out of bed and back in her office. Ruby opened her laptop and lit another cigarette. "The Capture| "
She began to type.
