chapter one: dream

Edmund and Lucy Pevensie sat in Edmund's room. It had been months since they'd last seen Narnia, but it felt like years. Edmund sat at his desk, sketching him and his siblings. He had drawn them all in their royal-wear. Edmund drawn Prince Caspian next to Susan as well.

He looked at the drawing admirably, wishing to see his older siblings once again. He remembered the grand adventures that the four of them (five including Caspian) had went on. Edmund only wished to go on more.

"Hey, Lu," Edmund spun around to face his sister. "Do you think we'll ever go back to Narnia?"

Lucy didn't look up from the fantasy book she was reading. "I don't know, Edmund. Maybe."

Edmund frowned. She didn't seem half as impatient to get back. Edmund walked over to his bed and laid down, tossing the drawing to the side.

"Yeah... maybe," Edmund sighed. "Don't you wanna go back? We're kings and queens there, it's perfect."

"But it's not real, Ed," Lucy told him. "I love that place just as much as you do, but we have to grow up."

"Why can't we just grow up there?" Edmund asked.

"Because then we'd still have to grow up here," Lucy said. "You're reading too far into things."

"Maybe I am. But how is that a bad thing?" Edmund asked, looking at the ceiling.

"I'm going to bed," Lucy stood up. "Don't worry too much. Maybe if you're lucky, you'll dream of it. Goodnight, Ed."

'Dream of Narnia?' Edmund thought. 'But we've been there twice before, why on earth would I be lucky to dream of Narnia when I could have the real thing?'

Edmund yanked the switch to his lamp, and the room went dark. He got under the covers and closed his eyes. Edmund began to imagine a different adventure, someplace new. A place where he wouldn't have to dream.

He smiled as he saw a magnificent castle, higher than any he'd seen before. He saw a great lake, with mermaids in it. Edmund wondered if it was a part of Narnia he hadn't seen before. Perhaps it was a vision.

Either way, Edmund was delighted. Though he had gone on many adventures before, there was something special about this place. He couldn't help but hope it was real.

Then the dream stopped. Edmund's heart suddenly started to beat faster. The sheets around him felt like they were swallowing him. He tried to find the surface, but he couldn't. The sheets around him started to get colder. Edmund's body froze. He opened his eyes to see blue all around him.

He was in a lake.

a/n- heyyy! another marauders fanfic! there's a reason why this chapter is so short, i have a few questions

1- what p.o.v. should i do? first or third? if i did first you get to see the mc's (main character's) reactions in more depth. but if i did third, you would be able to see everyone's thoughts and feelings.

2- should this be x reader or should i name my mc? if so, what should i name her?

3- do you want other ships like jily or wolfstar? or do you want all the marauders to be love interests?

4- do you want an ending for everyone? there will definitely be an Edmund one, but do you also want james, peter, sirius, and remus?

5- there will be no smut, but would you want me to add ✨spice✨?
