I waited as usual outside the coffee shop where I worked. Waiting for my brother to pick me up. I always waited on this curb that overlooked the café across the street and the three or four streets that collided to the square.

And there she was.
Donned in combat boots
ripped shorts that showed off her tanned thighs
she wore sunglasses
the cigarette balanced between her lips that were bright red in colour

The smoke billowed across her cheeks
up into the air
to eventually disappear

An old rusty coloured Chevy pulled up
and she hopped in
