Chapter 1

The majority of people at the convention didn't think much of the announcement, and the crowds snuffed out the sound of it in vital portions of the center. It had been a woman calmly explaining that you - or rather a vague description of you - disappeared. Your friend AJ had been the one who reported you missing, explaining how unlike you it would have been to run off on your own while they were in the restroom. In addition to that,  you weren't replying to their texts despite having your fully charged cell onhand. 

You really should have stuck to the buddy system! Perhaps it's too late for a lecture on that now, but maybe if you went into the restroom with AJ, you wouldn't be missing! That is assuming AJ would have cared enough to stop someone from hauling you off.

It's not as if AJ and you were close friends - far from it. The only reasons you chose to travel with them were financial convenience and a shared interest in YouTube. You generally got along, and they did care enough to report your absence... but when the convention was over a day later and you were still nowhere to found, AJ reported you missing to the police, complied with a witness interview, and took their scheduled flight back home. Some friend...

The people most distraught over your absence weren't personal friends of yours - you didn't necessarily have any real friends at the moment - no, it was the people who hosted the convention in the first place. The whole staff, knowing that their event was used as the stage for a potentially heinous crime, were riddled with guilt and a desperation to find you alive. Even the owner of the building that Markiplier rented out felt terrible, allowing the authorities full access to searching the location without the need for any formal legal documentation. 

They found nothing. The lack of witnesses in such a crowded location does give the detectives the impression that you were coerced somewhere rather than forcefully nabbed, but that's all they have to go on. Other than your basic profile, the detectives don't even have a full grasp on who you are.

So what happened?
