Every year on December 8th, every 18 year old gets a mark Red for the Hunter and Purple for the Prey. Zoey lives in a long line of hunter's and is shocked by what she gets and is forced to hide her mark in order to survive.
Today is mark day the day every eighteen year old in the world will wake up with their mark to determine wether you hunt or get haunted. So of course I rolled out of bed and to my bathroom and stood in front of my mirror in shock. "No, no, no." I murmured to myself as I stared at the purple mark just on my cheek bone and the purple shadow under my eye. "This isn't possible." I said once more as I shuffled thru my makeup to find my foundation and red lipstick. I quickly covered my mark and put the red over the spot I covered and under my eyes. I put my straight brown hair in a high ponytail and changed out of my pj's and into the outfit my mom set out for me.

(Zoey's outfit) As I walked up the stairs and to the kitchen I started to get nervous that my family would notice my mark was fake. "Good morning Zoey I see your a Huntress! I am so proud!" My mother polled me into a huge hug. "You shouldn't be surprised she's a Gratton and Gratton's are never Prey." My dad said from his spot at the table as he sipped his morning coffee. He was right though my family has never had a single prey mark, which makes me the first in my family. "Well I am going to run over to Care's and see what she got." I said to my parents as I quickly kissed my dad on his cheek and headed to are front door. "Don't forget to be back before six for the Mark check ceremony." My mom reminded me and I froze in my tracks. "M-mark checking?." I said with a studder. "Yeah to check if people aren't faking their mark." My dad said looking up at me from his book. "Yeah of course." I said with a fake smile before I opened my front door walked to my best friends house.
