SCARIF: 9 ABY

The deafening sound of TIE's rippled through the waters, as multiple aircrafts traveled at speed above the sea.
Scarif's weather had been disarray after the Death Star strike, leaving it only as an aquatic asteroid field.
The very place where rogue one had been all but wiped out saving the rebellion would now become even more notorious for Rebel sacrifice.

"Phoenix Three, S foils active, over."
Phoenix leader signalled, pulling into a barrel roll as she was targeted by TIE's. The green blasts scraped her S foils, almost sending her into the wreckages below the sea. In sudden circumstances, Phoenix five tried a daring maneuver. He attempted a 180° turn, opening up perfectly for imperial fire.
Phoenix five screamed over communications, going down in a blaze of fury.
With four phoenix's left, they regrouped to escape from this remnant of the empire.
Three went down, then two. It was a massacre.
Phoenix four and one were left.
"Phoenix one! T~theres too many! I can't shake- Ah!"
Four went down, Phoenix leader remained.
Sending her callsign back to the resistance, a message of their defeat, Phoenix let go of her controls and sent autopilot into work.
The TIE's formed, activating cluster bombs. Firing on the commander, she closed her eyes in peace as phoenix squad was no more.
Two platoons of good, innocent soldiers taken on scarif's harsh waters.

Back home, the resistance base on D'Qar, news spread fast of phoenix squadrons swift and shocking demise.
Ben, a promising young pilot, was particularly struck by the news.
Hannah (Phoenix leader) was quite close to this boy, she was his sister.
"Ben." Admiral shriv held his shoulders, trying to keep him from the command room.
"Is that?-" Ben saw the songbird callsign, knowing what this meant.
"No... Nononono... Hannah couldn't die. She's too good! Maybe... Maybe she just-"
"I'm sorry, son." Shriv closed his eyes.
"W~what? What're you sorry for? She's not dead, she.... Can't! Shriv! SHRIV! Tell me she's not!"
The admiral was not cut out for this, as one of Ben's primary mentors and Hannah's close companion, he looked the boy in his eyes and delivered the news.
"Phoenix Squadron was on patrol in the outer rim. They were ambushed and.... And... They were all K.I.A."
Ben's arms came off of shriv, falling to his knees as tears streamed from his eyes.
"No!" He pounded the ground.
"I should've been there.... I should ha-"
"It does not to dwell on if's and but's, private."
Shriv instructed
"I'm incredibly sorry."
He turned and walked away to command, Ben leaving for homebase. He would not stop until the empire was no more.
