This is a story that my church was talking about today. You don't have to be a Christian to read this though. I immediately thought of posting this when my pastor told it:
There was once a man who had two buckets to collect water from the river. One of the buckets was strong and the water fit in nicely and didn't leak. The other bucket had flaws, like little holes along the sides. When the man filled the buckets and carried them back to his house, the bucket with holes would leak and be only half full by the time he got back. The other bucket was still full.
One day, the leaky bucket got up the courage to talk to the man apologize for leaking.
"Sir, I'm so sorry that I am imperfect and I leak al over when you need me to be full."
The man nodded his head but said nothing. He took both buckets down to the river and dipped them in the water. On the way back, they went through the pasture. On the side of the perfect bucket, there was just green grass. But on the side of the leaky bucket, flowers were blooming.
"You see imperfect bucket," the man said, "you leak all over and make this field beautiful. Because you leak water, the flowers have the chance to grow and become new life."
Please take this into consideration. Just be yourself and you can touch lives and make things beautiful.
And here's another story.....about being kind.
A woman would always leave a pot of pie in her window, the one beside the kitchen. A hunch man would come everyday to take the pie and won't say a word except, "the good in you lies in your heart, pray the bad doesn't take advantage" and he'll walk away.
Days and weeks after that, the woman decided to put poison in the pie, and after making the poisoned pie she put it in the window as usual for the man, "what am I doing?" She said. She threw the pie and made a new one for the man.
The man came again said his usual words and left.
A day later, her son who's been missing for weeks showed up at her house, the woman was very surprised and as much as happy as she was at that time, she asked her son how he survived, "For days i've been starving, when I thought I would die and gave up hope of coming home, a hunched man gave me a pot of pie, smiled and left, just yesterday" her son replied yesterday.
Now if she had given that hunched man the poisoned pie, he wouldn't have been dead but her son would've been.
So please note that, don't always look for thank you's, the good u do would be rewarded, and lies in your heart, never let the bad take the better of u. Other people would appreciate u, don't focus on just what happens today, the future is always better especially if you're a kind hearted person.
