School Year or 1983

Chapter 1

  It was my first day of sophomore year of high school and I was really glad that I got through my freshman year without too many casualties. My brother was made star player on the football team last year and he got together with my best friend Lisa who was a sophomore during his junior year. Enough about him anyways, besides I am glad that he is happy but I sort of have a small crush on one of his teammates Vincent Salvucci. I don't know why I fell for him but I did. Maybe it was his goofy smile or that thick luxurious hair or maybe the way he joked around with his friends. I knew that getting involved with someone in high school was a bad idea but I couldn't help it. He was just my type...he was tall, easy on the eyes, and funny. I knew that Stef would get overprotective of me if I ever told him about my crush on Vinnie. I got up at around 5:30am which is earlier than usual on the first day of school even though school doesn't start till 9:00am partially because I couldn't sleep the previous night. I went out for a jog before everyone else got up and by 6am I was getting ready for school. I decided that today I was gonna wear very little makeup and have my hair down along with wearing one of my brother's old Ampipe sweatshirts, an old pair of jeans, my grey converse, and my black slouch beanie with my grey backpack. It's just about turned 7am by the time I head out the door skipping breakfast to avoid my brother since I know that he'll be asking me and teasing me about who I like at school. I just couldn't handle it today besides I liked walking to school by myself because then I have a chance to breathe before getting stressed out with being a honor student and all the responsibilities that came with it.

I got to school around 7:40am, decided to hang out at my locker and grab my books for my first class. I decided to head over there early since my class is mixed with sophomores and juniors sometimes I'll get lucky and be the only one in the classroom other times I wasn't so lucky but today I guess I wasn't lucky since the one person who I've had a crush on is sitting in the seat right next to mine...Vinnie Salvucci. I honestly couldn't believe that he was in my class this year I just tried to act normal and gone to sit in my usual seat pulling out my sketchbook for a while. I don't think that he has really noticed m-"Hey, you're Stef's little sister Leah, right?" He asks me in a somewhat sleepy voice that I find adorable and blush deeply. "Y-yea, How'd you know it was me? I thought you jocks didn't really notice dorks like me." I asked with a bit of a smile but I kept my guard up. Vinnie chuckles a bit and I swear if I wasn't blushing red it would definitely be bright tomato red now. "I just remembered seeing you at the football games especially when you cheered for your brother. Your not a total dork...you're blushing is actually kinda cute." He replies smiling softly at me with a light pink dusting his cheeks. I just quickly looked away hiding behind my long dark brown hair blushing so much. I murmur out a small thanks although I feel him still looking at me probably smiling that adorable smile he does sometimes. It was around 8:30 am when everyone started to shuffle into class and get settled before the teacher came in. I felt his gaze on me all throughout class and I tried really hard to not blush or miss anything the teacher was saying incase it was something that was important. I decided to head straight to my first elective class which was art.
